lol it wasn't an easy win I can tell ya that. I will say that although the Cavs hung around until later in the 4th Q, I never got the sense they were threatening to take the game over. Like everyone else, I'm bummed about Lin being out for season (basically). But how poetic is it that the guy who allowed Baron Davis the extra time/less pressure to come back from his injury is now hurt, and BDiddy has to now hold the fort down for Lin? Hope Baron's hammy heals up so he can fully man-up. We're gonna need him. Also: We need to get the hell out of the 7th and 8th playoff spots - bad. 3 1/2 back of that "coveted" 6th spot (Atlanta). Three back of division-leading Boston, 2 1/2 back of Philly. Still within reach, even with a tougher schedule coming up w/roadies. I believe it can be done. Go Knicks.

jon abbey: why, because of Lin? no one was expecting him to contribute coming into the season, so if you compare now to what we had when people made preseason predictions: no Amare JR Smith added Novak added (he signed on 12/21) it’s not too different, especially if you think Melo and Amare’s skill sets overlap. if Smith and Davis play well, Jeffries comes back and everyone else stays healthy, I don’t think we need to be less optimistic about this team than we were a week ago. this is the roster that blew out Orlando a few nights ago, no Lin or Amare or Jeffries in that one.

Sorry, to me this team has no chance in hell of making any noise in the playoffs w/o Lin. I could see it with everyone healthy except for Amar'e but unfortunately thats not the case with Lin being out now. Dont get me wrong I still think they should make the playoffs and will be rooting like crazy for them to do so and I will be thrilled if they prove me wrong come playoff time. But all Im saying is Im not going to get bent out of shape if they struggle to sneak into the playoffs and barely avoid getting swept if they make it.
