Speaking of possible trades, Marcus Banks is being shopped by the Suns. With Marbury and Francis falling apart before our eyes, Banks would be a nice (though expensive) pick-up.

I don't want to see a move for Barnes because we had him last year and Isiah screwed up with him. I don't think the Knicks should go for any big-name free agents, the last two season's offseasons haven't been tremendously sucsessful. I wouldn't mind a random name nobody has heard of who's ripping up the Euro-leagues (Anthony Parker on the Rapters)or the D-League(Frank Williams?).

I just want to mention Jerome James's 3 straight jumpers including the behind the back dribble. I was at a friend's house and we went absolutlely wild after we saw that kind of production out of him. Does anybody believe he actually used to be on the Globe Trotters like Clyde claims? He also claims Eddy Curry could do a standing backflip when he was drafted. I'm glad we have comic moments from Jerome James because he wouldn't be worth the 6 million a year if he wasn't entertaining. (I'm kidding that hes even close what the Knicks pay him, but he is hilarious)

"Anyone else unable to see the game today?

It?s pretty pathetic that NY is one of the larger nba markets in the nation and you can?t watch the home team.

ABC broadcasting is pathetic if they believe that Lakers, San Antonio is going to bring higher ratings than the Knicks in the NY area."

I don't think they do regional broadcasts, they just pick one game. the game was televised on tape-delay on MSG at 6, just ended, another brutal one-point loss screwed up at the end by Isiah (when the other team gets the ball up by 2 with 27 seconds left, you foul, especially the way Jamal was heating up). at least he had time-outs left, though! ughughugh.

the rotation is getting better, though, it's almost where it should have been 2-3 weeks ago. Balkman got Jeffries' minutes and looked pretty awesome, finishing, getting boards, tipping balls, blocking shots, 12 points, 8 boards, 4 steals, 2 blocks in 19 minutes! you have to find him 20 minutes a game somehow, he's developing before our eyes. now Isiah just needs to start Lee for Frye and he'll be good.

"that is stating the obvious but why couldnt Amare slide over to the 4 when Curry was playing?"

do you watch Phoenix ever?

"couldnt disagree more?absolutely a main guy, you build your entire roster around his toughness and decision making, he is the best in the business and always has been."

he's very good, but that's not good enough to win playoff rounds as the best player on a team in the West.

Agree on KG, but (I haven't seen Seattle much and maybe he's improved) Lewis would only hurt our D and, while he's an excellent shooter, he takes a lot of shots.

First, I'm not talking about this year necessarily, but maybe this offseason and I just threw Barnes and Azubuike out there because as I thought Pietrus might be unattainable and I considered candidates in the Bowen, Raja Bell mold two guys from the Warriors entered my mind.

I agree that we're going to improve a lot as our young guys develop (both individually and into more of a team). That said I'm not sure that this roster is the perfect complement of players, especially defensively. Inside we seem pretty set with Curry, Lee, and Frye. (Hopefully all three can step up their D to the point where they compensate for none being a great defender, and they can pick up the interior passing.)

So, to improve on both sides of the ball I think the easiest way to start may be to replace a terribly inefficient Jamal Crawford with someone who demands less shots but makes more (at least % wise). This way you might relieve the defensive burden on the bigs a little, and free up more shots for more efficient shooters.

Barnes, Azubuike, or any other unproven free agents are far from sure things, but they might be good low risk guys for the Knicks. There are easily a dozen other names to throw out there. I don't know whether Azubuike will be the next Raja Bell or a total bust, but I also don't make millions of dollars to make those decisions and hopefully Isiah or his successor would be able to.

Dan -

Agreed that Curry-Frye should be a dynamic offensive duo...but Curry does need to become a better passer if it's ever going to become as deadly as it should be.

And Seth -

I also hate Kidd. I respect him as a player but I just can't stand him. I won't go as far as to say I'd never want him, but yeah I definitely dislike him.

...meanwhile how tough is it to not bring up espn.com gamecast or anything ... i still haven't decided whether or not to just do that or to hold out.
