Per Alan Hahn’s Tweet: Update on Iman Shumpert: MRI revealed a torn ACL and lateral meniscus tear. He will undergo surgery in New York and is out 6-8 months.

Let me be the first to say:

fuck my life…. imagine if we versed Chicago instead
Shump and Rose both go down the same….

thinking of betting big for on the Heat for next game, hedging my bets cause there is no way we win more than 1 game this series. GG

That Cavs loss is gonna hurt a lot, seeing that the Magic just beat a pretty ordinary Pacer team at Indiana, would’ve like at least one win…

I have been saying this for quite a while,”Jeremy Lin will be back on the MSG floor before the end of this season.” Did you see him cutting and making jump shots 3-4 hours before the game? He looked good. By game 3 or 4, Lin will be ready to go. The Heats will not sweep us. We will win at least one game.
    Cheers!!!

I admit I came here on the Lin bandwagon, and now I am a Knick fan. Question: Is it going to be this hard all the time? I mean out here in Golden State land where we draft Todd Fuller while Kobe Bryant is on the board, where we use lottery picks on Ike Diogu and Troy Murphy and waive Lin to make a stupid-no-chance-in-hell offer for DeAndre Jordan I thought I had seen the worst. Even reading “The Architect of Your Misery” was NOTHIN for a Golden State fan. So I come over here and shit — it may be WORSE. OK, Lin will be back soon and Fields will have to do in the backcourt and Melo will carry the team again and and and. . . . . . . . . .

We lost one game that we played like shit in. I’ll be worried when we get our asses kicked playing our best. Losing game 1 on the road is what is going to happen most of the time. Settle down just a little. I know it’s a long shot to win but good god man.

Man, that really was a terrible idea, wasn’t it? I mean, don’t you have to put a little research into things before you start cutting guys to sign a guy who you won’t get? So foolish.

The word was the Clips would match up to a $49 million offer. GS offered $42 mil. That was the headline 3 days after we waived Lin.

I think Grantland or some such website ran an article similar to the “Architect” story here. I think GS may have the ‘Bockers beat on incompetence.

Shump, please be ready for training camp, rehab like the beast you are.

Yeah, Simmons’ Golden State piece was quite good (and depressing).

I agree, Golden State has had it worse. And yet, they’ve actually won a title more recently than the Knicks!

I didn’t see today’s game, so I’d appreciate it if anybody could answer my questions:
    1) I know Tyson Chandler had the flu. Did he look sluggish and not like himself?
    2) How did we manage to get blown out? Turnovers? Bad offense/defense?
    3) Why didn’t D-Wade score 20+ points?

  10. JR Sec 112

    1. yeah, he looked and played terrible.
    2. all of the above and also the refs were really, really bad
    3. cause he didnt need to

There is no silver lining when an athlete tears an ACL. Especially someone with the physical gifts of Shump. So sad.

But at least it happened when it did. Yes, I’m somber about this series. But he should be back in October. Ready to go.

    I’ll miss him.

Fuck! Does NY need a dose of bad luck b/c we won the SuperBowl. Cuz we’re getting a double dose right now.
Preparing for Wade to average 35 ppg from here on out now while Fields is attempting to guard him.

Gotta get JR on Wade. He can flash intensity on defense and maybe create turnovers. If JR is going to be taking boneheaded fouls, he may as well jab D-Wade in the eye while he’s at it. And if Wade embarrasses JR, it may motivate him and his neck tattoos to go on a scoring rampage of his own.

We got the undisciplined JR on both offense and defense in game 1. He also doesn’t strike me as what you’d call an intelligent basketball player. Some team is going to overpay for him this summer…

I thought we were in danger of getting swept even before Shump’s injury. Now we’ve lost one of our real horses and our best wing defender.

    Sweep.

JR is a pretty smart basketball player actually. It’s easy to look at his boneheaded fouls and tattoos and judge him, but he runs the pick and roll better than a lot of reserve PGs. He’s an underrated passer and shooter. His shot selection is iffy, but he’s so good of a shooter that it isn’t ridiculous that he goes to that stepback so much.

I’m not saying he’s got the highest basketball IQ, but I think he’s definitely above average.
