Melo is not a top five player. And while Amare changed the narrative about the Knicks I don't think he really changed our results all that much. I still give Fields the credit there for providing an unexpected bump in production. Or does Amare deserve the credit for Fields' sterling play in the first half, by drawing attention etc, etc. I don't know. Will be interesting to see how he plays next year.

Speaking of playing next to superstars, it is interesting to look at Bosh's numbers. You would think, given the way basketball is supposed to work, that Bosh's efficiency numbers would have soared this year. Instead, they dropped back to his level of two years ago, while his turnovers dropped about as much as his scoring.

The usage/efficiency tradeoff skill curve thing is a quirky beast....

As much as I would like to believe that Melo is a top 5 player, that's obviously not the case. Top 5 in talent, usage and PPG maybe, but his production elsewhere speaks to the contrary.

Hi Guys,

Just read a post by Isola (I know) about the best PF signing of the summer of Lebron – Amare, Bosh or Boozer.Thought it would be a good comparison to make using advanced stats.Did we do this already?Here’s what I got:

Games Played: Amare (78), Bosh (77), Boozer (59)
PER: Amare (22.7), Bosh (19.4), Boozer (18.8)
TS%: Bosh (0.569), Amare (0.565), Boozer (0.542)
efg%: Boozer (0.510), Amare (0.505), Bosh (0.499)
Reb/36: Boozer (10.8), Bosh (8.3), Amare (8)
Ast/36: Boozer (2.8), Amare (2.5), Bosh (1.9)
Blk/36: Amare (1.9), Bosh (0.6), Boozer (0.3)
Tov/36: Bosh (1.8), Boozer (2.9), Amare (3.1)

Winner: Amare
Runner-up: Bosh

How would you score it?

</blockquote>
I read that article too..I think it was garbage. Bosh is playing with LBJ and D Wade..he's SUPPOSED to excel as the 3rd option as a perennial all star. And he's SUPPOSED to still be playing this time of year. Boozer shouldn't get a grade becuz he didn't play til late..and when he finally started playin, the team had already taken off without him. Amare on the other hand, regardless of the post Melo "slump" and playoff injury, has done MUCH more for his team than the other 2 PF's. Hands down. I effin dislike Isola severely lol. No one expected him to carry the Knicks the way he did b4 Melo came in. An alot of media guys talk about the effect Melo had on Amare when he came in, as if we added just a good player midseason. MELO'S A FRICKIN TOP FIVER!!! Even if it were Kobe, LBJ or Jordan, it still wouldn't go smoothly that late in the season. Lol..I reiterate..I DO NOT LIKE ISOLA!!
