Paysirs Nineteetoo, Nicks Ateythree

Thuh Nicks lost agenst the Indyana Paysirs tonite. Thuh final score was 93-83 but it rilly wazn’t that close becawse thuh Paycers were a lot better than the Nicks wer at basketball tonite so the Nicks lost.

Thuh Paycers now lead the serious 3 games to only 1 game for thuh Nicks. That means that if the Nicks ar gonna play in the next serious they have to win three strate games which is rilly hard to do becuawse rite now they are not good at basketball and thuh Paysirs are rilly good. But Nicks fans have hope because this is Nu Yawk and we have heart and leadership and vetrans who know how to win basketball games espeshully in the playoffs which iz where it is most important to win if yr gonna be count tha RINNNNNNGGGGZZZZZ.

So heres what happnd if you didntwatch the game but wanna kno what happened in the game beetween thuh Nicks and the Paysirs.  B4 it started we wer rilly worried cause Shump got hurt on Satirday or mebbe SUnday when he hurt himself fallin down. So then his nee waz sore and he sed hed play but today the doctors who did thu surgry came and checkd his nee and sed he could play so that waz gud.

Then Woodsn cause he is grate coch changed the lineup. Kmart wld start which was suprGENIUOUS. Thu paysirs are a big teem so thu onliest way to beet a big team is to be just as big as they is. Like that NBA commershul sez GO BIG OR GO HOME. So thats true cause you cant make an ad on teevee and have it not be trooo or else its ilegle. I remember that from skool or i read it somwear. So  That scrub Prig – I cant spell his name rite. Whatevs hes a scrub forener anyway got to sit his skinyy ass back on the bench wher it belongs) KMARt is a veteren. He knows how to win big games and defend another foward who is big like David west. Melo dozent haven to play smalforward. He was an allstar sMall forward for years so putting him back at his natchural pasishun is a move that was long overdoo according to me.

They startd ok and wer only doun by sevn at the end of the frist qarter. The big line up was getting some rebowns for the beginning of the qarter and tha spacing was not so gud wich was bad for melo but the Picers were turning the ball over a lot beecause the defense was so good because Marten is good at defense and he was starting so SEE. GEENYUS MOVE BY WOOD SON WORKED. but by the end the Paycers like Hibrt got some witch gave Hill and Stevenson open threes wich was not so good. Then they brawt in Kid. Kid is a hall of famer. Everyone nows that. He is a true champeeon and the kind of player who haz been so gud for the Niks this year so of course you play him. He didnt hit shots in the secund qurter when he came in. JR missed his shots but he needs to shoot his way out of the slump that he is in rite now. Regge Miller said so on TV while I was waching and even tho I hate that basterd reggie miller he is a grate player and a guy that KILLED the Kniks so you know he nows about shooting and slumps and wat you have to do to get out of them same for Kidd who is also in a slump and has not scored in the last six or seven games but if yoo do not like Jason Kid or think he shld not play you are a hater. Haters are gonna hate on grate players so dont be one. Yeah wen Kid came into the game at the end of the first quter the pacrs went on a 9-two run but you are a haterz.

Then the end of the 2 quarter was also bad and the Paceers were up by 14 at the half. the knick wer trapping a lot witch mite have bin part of the problem with getting opens shots for paicers but lots of turnovers so good. Oh Shump sat on the bench cause mebbe he was hurt again he had an ice pack like stat they were like brothers in ice! Yeah thats not so good. Forget that part

Okay, so then it was the secund half and they were still lozing by a lot. I wasnt paying attention cause I was real mad at the Indiyanans. Peepl from Iniyana are like so stoopid. They live in corn. And those big things they put tha corn in – what ar they called. Silows. Rite. Silows look like dicks! HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH. And larry bird so what. And that moovy Hoozyers. Like thats not real stuff that happeneded. They say they are the home of basktball but how can you pley basktball with corn and dick things with corn in them alla ova the place. That makes no sens, amirte?

An that Donny Walsh. Hes a total traytor for goin back to Indiyana cause he couldent cut it in noo york. Noo YORK is basketballs reel home. Everybody nows that who knows basktball like me ys truly yo. You all no I no baksetball frum reeding this site.

Anyway I was hatng indiana caus of the sines that said Hix beet Knikcs. That made me so mad that I startd to drink a lot. Not caus the knisk are losing but cause other reasons that Im not gonna talk about rite now its not yor bizness so but then my girl showed up and she wuz like WHY YOU SCREAMING AT THE TEEEVEEEE. AND I’M LIKE SHUT UP BECAUSE THE KNICKS IS LOSING. AND SHE WAZ ALL AW BABY. BUT SHES MY GIRL SO WERE OKAY NOW AND mabe we r gonna get a burrito from this place near me called Castros which is a weerd name for a messican restarant cause castro was Cuban I think and its not a Cuban restrant but like I cud tell the diffrens Imma pretty drunk now on whatever that chalky white stuf was I drank.

But Nix losing. Then they put copelind in the game.  (But still no prigs for Kidd because that forener sux which is anothr smar thing by hed cotche Mike woodsin. Hes the best coche the nixks have evr had since I dunno that vangundi guy. he was good ecksept he always drank diet cok like a little gurl or sumthin and rilee was good to ecksept he is a traitor so I cant say hes good so ferget that part.

But then Copelind played and he hit a three. Now anudder gud moobe by coche woodsen. He took copelend out. Because since he made a shot what are the odds that heel make more? Thats good strategery! Besides Copelund is a rooky and everybuddy knos rookys dont suckseed in the playoffs when you need vetrans to win. Plus is Beljum even a real country. I don think so.

So it was SMART by Woodsin to pull Kope the rooky after he suckseeded becaws it wuld nnot have lasted. Thats using advansed statisticks to make the teem better and win more. Okay it didnt work and the lede was never less than a lot I forget because I got so mad at the teevee that I punched the skreen and my girl didnet bring the vodka like I asked but we goonnnnna get britos so its ok. She is my and girl. She sweet. You talking shit about her. I punch yoo soo hard in yore dum as face like Tylr Hansbro. Hes got a dum face rite? haha

So they lost the end but that’s not theyre fawlt because this team has vetrans and champyons whove been theyre before and they know how to win and so THREE IN A ROW NOW COMEBACK TIME I BET YOU THIS IS SO GONNA HAPPEN. Oh yeah. Heres what some guys did.

*******

  • Melo wasnt good. Sometimes yes but then he missed shots. They wer hard shots cause PaulGeorge (two first names = dum. Yoor rich so wy cant he afford a last name) defended good and wen he trieyed to drive there was Hibert
  • Chanler had som good momnts but he made some foulz but he lookd beter than thu last game and the game b4 when he wasnot good. S
  • Dogs are so cute. I alwayz put videeyos of dogs on twitr and faysbook of cut dogs wen their waring hats or with cats sometime because that so cute.
  • JR missed a buch of shots again but he gave the Paycers the pipe tho, amirite? Or maybe Hibert gave the pipe to him becawse Hibert played so gud and blocked shots so now JR is haven secks with Hiburt. Get it! Thats funny but srsly tho he was not good. Mebbe hes not sick no more and he hit his last shot so thats like a good sine for thuh next game which is very important for the Nicks to win or else they have to go home but wate till next yr. Nicks r gonna be CHAMMMMMMPSSS.
  • Feltun was prity good he got to thu rim and Hibert stopped him a bunch but he mayde some shots
  • Shump was hurt so its not his falt
  • Do not drink stuf you find under the kitchin cabinat that has wwarnings that say don drink this if you are wateing for yore gurl to bring vodka an she dont bring it but wile yoo ar wateing yu ar mad at tha Pacres and Indeanna so you drink it and puntch tevees that make yore hands bleed. I feel reel sick now but I got good buz so yolo. If you dont kno yolo meens yoo only live yo. And that meens do it cause rock and roll0 GET IT HAHAAHAAH. I cant feels my fayce now. Ow my hans
  • Prigs and Copland are scrubs
  • Novak is also scrub
  • Marten was sorta okay I cant tell.
  • Look i mayde bullit points thats kewl.
  • Kidd is a vetran.
  • Geroge Hill was reel good for INdana cause I dunno he was good before now kinda I guess. He hit hard shots. And Hibrt was good ecksept when he had fowl truble that’s when I thot the nicks were gonna come back but they dinnt I shood have sed that b4. That was there big chance excepr and kid was in the game tooo!

*******

(Whacks self on the back of the head with a cricket bat)

Ow…Sorry for that extended reverse Flowers for Algernon segment. But I was trying to replicate the abject stupidity of tonight’s starting lineup, rotation, and everything and everything by the Knicks erstwhile coach, if one can still use such a word in the general vicinity of his presence without breaking into fits of tear-drenched laughter.

And you don’t need to have a Phi Beta Kappa key dangling around your neck to suss out what went wrong. They (once again) got away from what has been proven to work all season and Prigs and Cope didn’t play, despite mountains of empirical evidence that said that’s exactly who should’ve been logging major minutes. What either of them has done to get locked in Labrynthine maze that is  Mike’s doghouse we may never know. Maybe David Bowie can rescue them. Despite the countless missed open looks and continued sub-par performances from Melo, J.R. and every ‘Bocker they’ve counted on for buckets this year, this loss can directly be pinned to Woodson’s infinitely dense goatee/stubbornness and/or willful blindness. It was dumb. Tragically dumb. Colossally dumb. Painfully dumb. Head-to-the-desk/concussively dumb.

It’s moments like these that make me question the utter folly of choosing to invest emotionally in a team—especially one as congenitally thick-headed as this one.  I’m not even mad at this point. I’m numbly, dumbly sad. Why don’t you GIF it for us, former star of Firefly and Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog, super-dreamy Nathan Fillion.

nathan-fillion-firefly-gif

Our inevitable doom is nigh. And the thing that’s the most galling, that makes me want to strip my clothes off, drink a gallon of Pepto-Bismol and run screaming out into the middle of the BQE, projectile vomiting horrible pink geysers in cosine-shaped arcs (Okay, maybe I am still a little bit angry) is that tonight, a great deal of the team’s demise was self-inflicted, like getting out of a showdown at the OK Corral by purposely, idiotically shooting your big toe off. The Pacers are a good, smart team that has a clear identity. To win, the Knicks would need to be playing the right way AND at or near the peak of their powers. Right now, neither of those things are happening. Sigh.

On to perhaps the last game of the season. For all my ranting, I’ll be there, and I’m sure so will all of you. Go Knicks.

    Amazing. Love.

For the life of me I can’t figure out why a) play two bigs and then double all game, thereby making our offense worse and our defense worse as well, or b) when facing a team that packs the paint, refuse to play Prigs, Copeland or Novak to stretch the floor. After a season of inspired of playing scorers and then just trying to contain people defensively, particularly by luring them to attack our minus defenders with low percentage plays, we have done everything wrong this series. ANd this recap really captures it

we never really had an identity as a team, cause the chemistry is fake when the chips are down these guys don’t know what to rely on they looked like strangers again…i feel bad for pablo. and whoever said earl barron needs to get his touches i mean yo how the fuck did things get so bad that this seems like not only a good move but prudent. i wouldn’t mind seeing cope prig barron shump felton line to start next game. kmart, novak, amare (maybe) and melo could be subs. jr and jason can go and chandler can play only if takes some sort of a reaction time adjusting pill or cocaine.

    +1

defying all logic, Woodson makes every move in this post, meanwhile chandler ingests Mali, Cocaine, and Acid, all in the same gulp. He proceeds to slaughter Roy Hibbert literally and figuratively on his way to a Quadruple Double

wouldn’t it be funny if this ended up being the reason Prigioni went back to Europe and the reason Kidd didn’t retire? God can only force so much luck onto you, mike woodson. He pretty much gagged the spread offense down your throat by gifting you the series of Stoudemire injuries, and now twice you’ve tried to go back to what has proven time and again doesn’t work — with the asinine Kurt Thomas/Chandler starting frontcourt, and now this.

  5. Spree8nyk8

If/when (yeah i’m a fucking optimist sue me) we lose this series Woodson deserves to be fired. I know he won’t be because the coaches before him were so inept that it looks like he’s actually accomplished something but it’s ridiculous. Woodson is always trying to find the genius move and never goes with the obvious one. The worst part is not all of it is bad. Some of it worked or could have worked better if he didn’t insist on over tweaking. He can play Melo at the 3 but you can’t have fucking Kidd out there with two non options like Chandler and Martin. I mean ffs it’s so elementary the mistakes he makes. I mean how many fucking games does he have to lose before he realizes that Jason Kidd is fucking shot. You can read on JR Smith’s face that he doesn’t have it right now and instead of being loyal to the team he coaches he stays loyal to the players most likely to fail. If we had anything resembling a good coach we could have made proper adjustments and challenged in this series. Jesus, if we had a decent coach I still think we could come back in this series. Use what works ditch the rest you win one fucking game at home and then you make game 6 a war. If you can do that anything can happen. But it’s not going to happen if you just keep repeating the same stupid ass mistakes over and over.

On one hand, the Knicks are shooting so badly right now as a team, that even if Woodson had gone to different line-ups, I’m not sure it would matter. And, the Pacers are just simply too big and strong for the Knicks. It is simply the rebounding mismatch that probably renders any changes Woodson would make moot. On the other hand, Woodson has lacked any creativity, and even more so…any common sense. Woodson finally puts in Copeland (Two games too late), and Copeland buries a three, and then, he takes him out. JR Smith is lost, and everyone in the world can see it. Yet Woodson stays with him to the bitter end. The fact that he has let Copeland and Novak rot on the bench while the JR Smith and company shoot like JV walk ons is simply unconscionable. The playoffs are truly a different level and Woodson has unfortunately proven he’s not ready for prime time.

  7. MeloDrama

The injuries are making them look worse than they are, but Woodson isn’t even giving them a chance to win with this garbage.

This. Seriously, “if only we had a shooter or 2 we could go to in a tight spot like this.”

You seriously can’t find a guy to hide Copeland or Novak on against INDIANA?

  9. Brian Cronin

The injuries are making them look worse than they are, but Woodson isn’t even giving them a chance to win with this garbage.

    Agreed on both.

  10. Spree8nyk8

it’s not hard to defend shooters when you put 3 non shooters on the floor with them. Nobody is worried about Marin/chandler/kidd whatsoever so putting them on the floor together is useless. At least if they put priggy in there he’d be able to set them up the others. Idk we are grasping at straws to beat a team that we went 2-2 against during the reg season and destroyed in game 2, it shouldn’t be that hard to observe the things that you did well in those games and replicate them. Maybe tweak it by replacing kidd and such

  11. Brian Cronin

It really is aggravating as hell, though, to see Woody not even be willing to explain why he benched Prigs. Such bullshit.

  12. Brian Cronin

Woody is so bad that he’s even having SAS making funny tweets making fun of him!

Stop asking me these damn questions. I have no explanation why Woodson won’t put in Copeland or Novak or even the towel boy. #Frustrated!

  13. Brian Cronin

Great line from our own Kevin Mc:

Here’s the thing about Woodson: he’s a great coach as long as his first idea works.

  14. BigBlueAL

Woodson is an NBA coach who gets his players to play hard and has their respect which is a big deal and something that shouldnt be overlooked but in terms of x’s and o’s he is completely overmatched. He won with a style this season basically forced on him due to injuries that deep down he doesnt believe in. He probably truly believes alot of their success on offense this season was flukey and gimmicky. Never mind that the defending champs and current best team on the planet plays basically the exact same way on offense that the Knicks were great at yet Woodson doesnt seem to truly embrace it.

If I knew there was even a slight chance either Van Gundy brother could be hired I would be clamoring for Woodson to get fired if they lose to the Pacers and praying for a Van Gundy to get hired but I know that aint happening. Woodson will be the coach next season and we just have to hope in the off-season he looks back at this season and truly learns something from it.

  15. yellowboy90

I know I am in the minority but I think the Knicks can still win the series. Of course it will take a complete turn around shooting wise and in coaching too but I think they can do it.

I also think the Knicks still has some assets to use to their advantage in the off season to get better. If they can re-sign Cope Novak becomes a trade chip. I also think Camby can be moved if they give up 3 mill to pay for next years contract to save a team money because his last year is not guaranteed. Add in the non guaranteed contracts and the 1st rd pick after they draft him and that’s quite a bit.

  16. Brian Cronin

Sure, the Knicks clearly have a chance. Not a good chance, but definitely a chance. I’d give them better odds at winning their series than OKC has of winning theirs.

  17. ephus

First, great recap. It is hard to write cogent points. (I fail often). It is really hard to write in a humorous vernacular ( I do not even try). It is super hard to write when you are upset. And writing for deadline drives hard men to drink like Jimmy Cannon and Dick Young. Major credit for successfully pulling off the combination of all four.

On substance, Jason Kidd is now counterproductive on the thing he was supposed to bring: ball movement on offense. I saw multiple times that he passed up OPEN shots late in the shot clock that led to desperation heaves or shot clock violations. Pacers are using his defender to of the elbow area. He should not play unless he starts taking and making the shots the Pacers are daring him to launch

  18. Nick C.

They played a snippet of Woodson re: Prigioni. After the “don’t have to explain bit” he went on to say we needed someone who could put the ball in the basket or something close to that. That is either a lie or batshit crazy. The follow up should have been “so you started Kenyon????” “Why did Kidd play?” “Why did you wait so long to try Copeland and Novak?” “Are you a racist?” “When will you stop the veteran fetish?”

  19. Hubert Davis

    1. This was a tipping point for me. I will never have any faith in our chances to succeed as long as W*****n is the coach. I’ll still participate in chats and enjoy the moments where we have success in spite of him, but in this NBA, the way it has evolved, it is a death sentence to have a coach so ignorant. Which is something I said back in November when we were 6-0, and I tried to temper my enthusiasm, but I couldn’t. I actually believed in us. Never again.

    2. I expect W*****n to stick with his mistakes in game 5. Our best chance is that the Garden boos Jason Kidd & JR Smith so mercilessly every time they touch the ball that it becomes so uncomfortable that W*****n has to take them out. Which is a shame for Jason Kidd (but not for JR).

    3. Remember when THCJ made a statement last week that if he were in charge of a team he’d let them play without a coach and he was ridiculed? That would be more effective than W*****n.

    4. JR Smith is not the new John Starks. JR Smith is NOTHING like John Starks. If you need to be explained why, then you know nothing about John Starks.

    5. I really think there is a strong chance W*****n sticks with his failed strategies for game 5 and we lose. Again, we have had one good quarter out of 4 games.

    6. I’m not watching game 5. There’s a Rangers game in Boston. The Rangers may have an asshole for a coach, but at least he is not an idiot.

    7. People going to MSG Thursday: Give them hell. Yell FIRE W*****N at the top of your lungs. Boo Tyson. Boo JR. I actually feel sorry for Jason so I wouldn’t boo him.

    8. It’s going to be hilarious when Miami beats these guys in 4 games and they can’t score at all because they’re not stupid enough to double Hibbert and West on every play.

    9. Fuck M**e W*****n. Fuck him.

  20. Hubert Davis

Really, I called this back in November when we were 9-4, after we had blown that game in Brooklyn:

    Hubert Davis
    November 28, 2012 at 12:47 pm
    ephus:

In the circumstance where Felton just cannot make a team pay for leaving him open on the PNR, the Knicks should try the following:

1.Let ‘Melo be the ball handler on the PNR.As Ruru has pointed out, ‘Melo is quite good in that roll.Should lead to open ‘Melo jumpers or wide-open Chandler dives. If teams double off of Felton, at least he will be getting the ball as a spot-up three shooter.

2.Have the two weakside wing players run a pindown screen to open up a free elbow (or 3pt) shot.

These are great calls, ephus, particularly the first one. It has been troubling to watch Woodson fail to adjust when something is not working. I feel like we’re a top 5 team this year, but a coach who doesn’t adjust is a death sentence.

    http://knickerblogger.net/knicks-morning-news-wednesday-nov-28-2012/#comment-409705

  21. Hubert Davis

Also, W*****n will not be fired unless Carmelo demands it, which he won’t, but he should.

Dolan doesn’t fire coaches for being ignorant of statistical evidence, he fires them for being ignorant of the MSG media policy.

  22. johnlocke

I think you’re wrong. I don’t see Woodson changing anything meaningful. He will continue to not play Copeland and Novak, b/c our defense is so crucial in this series. He will continue to play JR because he HAS to get hot at some point, and Kidd, because he has to hit something soon right — which is the strategy of a degenerate gambler. He just played the big line up so that line up will start again next game, b/c he is a stubborn bastard. And he won’t play Prigs major minutes, because he doesn’t want the media to think he did it because of them. He strikes me as a guy who would rather lose with his own misguided ideas than adjust to what EVERYONE in the WORLD sees as painfully, mind numbingly obvious. Every time JR and Kidd are on the floor at the same time, I want to hit something.

Kidd is “whiter” than Copeland, so that can’t be it….can it??

Hubert Davis (#23), thanks for the walk down memory lane. I am a fan and an optimist, but I try not to be a fanboy. If Woodson does not make changes for Game 5, we should not expect different results.

  25. Nick C.

Kidd’s half-black and is Jason Kidd so he gets a pass. Copeland played in Belgium? I think if they don’t fit into some pre-conceived stereotypical notion of what an NBA basketball player is he only plays them as a last resort. Even the whole “rook” thing with Shumpert last year and this strikes me as odd. I still find the “we needed to get someone who can score” type comments when pushed about Prigioni to be lies or imbecilic considering he replaced him with Kenyon and Kidd got heavy minutes, while Novak and Cope who are offensive players sat.

Lessons that should have been learned in the last couple of years in no special order.

    1. Woodson is proof that a coach without a clue can go on quite a spectacular run of success with a just pretty good team that buys in and is willing to play hard for him. However, it won’t get the job done.

    2. You can’t win a title when your offense is built around guys that are good at creating their own shot, but not particularly efficient scorers.

    3. Guys that are great at creating their own shot, but not particularly efficient and or good at anything else, tend to be overrated by the fans and media and ultimately can’t be the max player cornerstone of a team that wants to win a championship.

    4. It never makes sense to give up good long term value (young players with upside at reasonable salaries, picks, cap space etc..) for the short term benefit of older players that are a little better now UNLESS you are only one player away from a championship.

    5. Going down in flames in the playoffs is not so bad when your team is young, several players might get better, you have the flexibility to make trades to get better, there is light at the end of the tunnel etc… as it is when you give yourself a very small window, are old, have several players on the downside, and the next rebuild is in 2015.

3 max contracts on the team, and you pick on the one who’s played by far the best of the 3? Amare and Chandler have been trash in the playoffs every year, and Chauncey had the same problem before Chandler. But sure, lets build a team around 3 players and then blame only the guy we don’t like and say its his fault the team has no cap space. I’d much rather be paying Gallinari and Wilson Chandler just as much money per year as Melo

    1. I was against the Amare deal when it happened because of all the injury risks, but IMO you COULD build a championship with a healthy Amare as the #1 scorer with the right pieces. He’s a highly efficient scorer. It was idiotic to combine him with Melo, but that’s another story.

    2. I was against the Melo trade because he may literally be among the top 3 most overrated max players in the entire NBA. It’s him, Joe Johnson and Rudy Gay. After that it gets tough. You pretty much CANNOT win a championship with him as the #1 scorer, holding the ball, going ISO, and disrupting the flow etc… His best chance to win a championship will be when he’s older and is forced to take a smaller role on a team with a legitimate super star.

    3. I loved the move to get Chandler, but what are we going to do if he’s hurt NOW. He’s the most important player on the team and I’d make a deal for him every single time. If we were smart and blew up the team, I’d keep Chandler.

So last night I was the laughing stock of my friends in facebook…they even took one of my pictures where I’m proudly seen with my 33 Ewing jersey, and photoshop it so it looked like I had a miami heat jersey. My night was so depressing…I couldn’t sleep with anger. I’m so freakin tired of this team. And I’m stupid enough to be thinking that a team that won 13 games in a row this season, is capable of wining 3 in a row to win this series….Oh God, what is happening to me???

“It’s moments like these that make me question the utter folly of choosing to invest emotionally in a team—especially one as congenitally thick-headed as this one.”
