@ 29 & 30...I agree. I figure that if Felton does 15 & 8 with efficient shooting an the team is winning their fair share, then he should be in the discussion. Amare' or not, this offense does not run without a point guard. Understatement, I know. But my point is, if he can knock down open jumpers at a slightly higher clip than last season while penetrating and dishing to the shooters and setting Stat up in spots where he can score-then Felt has to be in the conversation even though 15 and 8 sounds a little low. Nelson won't crack 5.5 apg, and neither will Williams. If all goes well, then I think Felton wil get 9-10 apg. But honestly, i'm more concerned with his shooting holding up. Given his talents, and the shooters around him (he's never really had this type of potential spacing)-he stands to do really well especially if he can shoot 46% from the field and 38% from 3 again. I also think it's a natural progression for him to get his FT% up to around 80-82%. Now, if that happens then 15 & 8 turns into 17 and 10 easy. But i'll settle for 15 & 8...I don't think we want Felt to try and do too much-something that happens to other players in this system. They hear about how good the ssol makes them look and they try 2 hard to put up career numbers instead of letting the ssol work for them. Still, I think we are in for a treat with Felton this season with Stat and the Bomb Squad around him.

I don't know about this Shannon Brown idea... He is a bit undersized, but a solid athletic player. However, do we really want a shooting guard that can't shoot? Might as well bring back Larry Hughes, he played good D and couldn't shoot as well. We already have a couple guys with similar skill-sets. chandler/walker (cept walker can shoot)

I think Raymond Felton will do well. Look at all the tools he's armed with. He's got shooters in Gallo, Azu, Walker, and Douglas. He's got athletes who'll be available on cuts to the basket in Azu, Walker, Chandler, and Randolph. And he's got the ultimate pick and roll weapon in Stat. He's one of the fastest guards in the league, is built like a tank, and can handle the ball pretty well, so I'll just assume he'll penetrate and score/dish to Stat. Let's not count him out until we see him play.

@ 27..no..but..I think he has a shot this year if he plays to his ability..and if the AS coach carries 3 pg's. John Wall's an unknown (right now), I think Felton is as good as Nelson, Nelson is jus counted on to score more. Jennings is the wild card. Rondo, Rose, Nelson and Jennings are the only PG's in the east that could keep Felton out (which is more than enuf). Not sure about Wall yet b/c I don't know if the Wiz r gonna keep Arenas. If they do, then Wall's an all star becuz he won't hafta do everything for them. Devin Harris? He plays for the Nyets lol. No seriously I think Felton can hold his own in Mike D's system against Harris stat wise, especially with Johnson coaching with 2 big men who can get tons of buckets. We'll see....it's gonna be interesting. I see Felton gettin 15 and 8 easy this season. I just hope his shooting holds up. If Mo Williams can be an all star, then shit..y not Felton? He's a better distributor and defender and penetrates more. However if Williams re-discovers that part of his game then it's a wrap for Felton as far as AS PG's go

"In fact, the only position on the floor that i’m worries about is the 2 guard."

I am worried about every position other than the 4 (Amar'e is the real deal.) Seriously, is any other position being manned by a proven all-star caliber player? I am totally excited to see what we have, but other that the 4, everything is a guess.

I think Chandler starts at the 2 until he shows he can't handle it. D'Antoni clearly likes him and I think he will get a long look. If Azu comes off the bench and plays better at that spot, I can see D'Antoni making a switch. This, of course, assumes that they are both arounc on opening day, which is very iffy at this point.

Courtney Lee and Nick Young are guys who play on teams that have a couple wing players and would be expendable. We could probably steal one of them if we can work out a three team trade with the Lakers for one of them. New Jersey and Washington all have the cap space to take on Sasha Vujacic's deal, and would get draft picks back (LA's first, one/two of our 2nds) in a trade, and one of the best young teams in the league. I like both of these guys over Shannon Brown.

Shannon Brown? Nuh uh...
Let's not forget that he was a bum until he met the Triangle. I love his athleticism and fearlesness..but we already have a bigger version of him who actually shoots better in Bill Walker. Shannon Brown may play slightly better D, but let's face it-the 2010 Knicks are not gonna be "open court" enough for him to be effective. He doesn't shoot well or create well. We need a backcourt player who can create. I'd definitely take McCants over Brown if I had 2 choose. I'm actually pretty high on Felton. He's a very good PG..in the pros he's always had a short rope. I think he will do very well in NY runnin Mike D's offense. He also plays tough D. Felton's signing and potential for us is important for 2 reasons. 1, the obvious one, is if he plays well we will have gotten a steal. 2, if he plays well, we can likely parlay him into CP3 if we truly have a shot at him, while keeping Douglas. In fact, the only position on the floor that i'm worries about is the 2 guard. Azu's ok and should do well if he stays healthy. But our 2 guard depth leaves alot to be desired. I like Rautins and Walker..even Chandler at the 2 in spurts..but we have no creators at that position. If T Mac can't get a deal for the midlevel and we don't find a cheap alternative, then i'd say bring him back on a 1 year deal. I don't necessarily think Rudy's the answer either-especially with what Portland's asking 4 him. With as much potential offensive firepower as we have, I now believe holding on to Chandler is imperative unless we can get a better piece in return for him. I'm envisioning a starting lineup of Stat, Randolph (they say he's up to 230 now), Rooster, Azu and Felton..with Douglas, Chandler, and Turiaf leading the bench. However if Walsh finds a way to bring Barron back, then Randolph problee comes off the bench with him, Wil and Douglas, and Turiaf starts. Either way, I see at least 38 wins if we stay healthy. Not great, but it's a start.
