flossy: Now that the team isn’t shooting like 75% from 3 and playing defense on fresh legs, a few things that could kind of be ignored during the Best Start Ever are becoming more apparent about this team.First and foremost, while Raymond Felton may or may not be a competent PG for an elite team (jury is still out if you ask me, and I’d rather Jason Kidd run the offense 10 times out of 10 when the game is close), he is NOT an adequate second scoring option after Carmelo Anthony, at least not for a team that expects to go deep in the playoffs. Not in any way, shape or form, and neither, for that matter, is JR Smith. This team needs a secondary scoring option who can consistently get 18-20 efficient points (per 36) every night and function as the focal point of the offense and take over the game when Melo is on the bench (or just tired). That person’s name is Amar’e Stoudemire.

Yep. So obvi.

Hubert Davis: That “brooooook-lyn” thing is arguably the most annoying artificial noise pumped into an arena since the race car sound at old Market Square Arena. They must have played it every 45 seconds. I wish we had the high ground here, but Madison Square Garden has succumbed to the thunderstick-clapping, shirt-cannon-shooting, music-during-possessions fad that has essentially ruined NBA arena atmosphere. I miss the good ol’ days where the only sound was the occasional organ tune, a timely bass drum thump, and the voice of Mike Walczewski. Get off my lawn.

What a dummy I was I thought those chants that sounded like Brooklyn after a while were actual fans.

Marcus Camby is looking like a bad signing. We're 13 games into the regular season and he does not have a field goal, is sporting a .174 TS%, can't get more than 5 minutes of floor time in the second game of a back-to-back and generally looks like the worst player on the roster.

Evan I actually suggest getting him way back June as I thought he polar opposite of Amare. PF defensive specialist that you sub in for Amare in defensive situations. He just doesn't a lick of offensive skills.

Great game for WoW lovers. My takeaways:

Nets are very physical
Evans is a beast!
Nets should not be taken lightly by anyone, so long as they stay healthy
Playing without Kidd is like playing after a lobotomy
Melo needs more rest before the 4th quarter, he was running on fumes for the last 10 minutes
Great, great game to watch, playoff intensity from start to finish

Give the nets credit, they played good defence, but my opinion is that,Felton was tossing too many shots. instead of passing and looking for the open man. It is one game. The knicks have to move on .They played well, but not good enough to win.

In a way I can understand. It helps to encourage a fan base to develop in Brooklyn by putting it that way. I don't know that any of the members of the local media is astute enough to do that. I have not watched much of Brooklyn this year. To me it seems that Williams and Lopez, while good, seem to lack a certain focus. It was good for that franchise's sake, once I could figure out that they weren't chanting bogus or bogans, to hear Brooklyn chants and cheers for them rather than the embarrasment of a half fileld arena 90% full of people cheering for the opposition.

Wow..I can't believe what I'm seeing and hearing in the media today. Not takin anything away from the Nets..hats off to them. They made plays when they needed to and eventually outplayed us. BUT IT'S ONE GAME!!! Excuse me..the Nets are a better team than the Knicks?? Are some of these people serious?? It took for us to go cold in OT for them to win. Plus we had no Kidd, Stat, or Shump. Even worse..the supporting cast shot horribly. The people in the media that took that one game too far should just wait until both squads are healthy. Still..they've had a heck of a start while it seems like teams are starting to figure our Melo-centric offense out. No worries I would say. Brooklyn is a big team..much like Memphis. They're supposed to out-rebound us and get more blocks than us..at least right now. Maybe when Stat and Shump gets back that changes. My biggest concern right now is the amount of energy Tyson has to spend out there tusslin with bigs since Sheed, Camby and Thomas aren't getting alot of run. Also I hope this one horrible game by Felton doesn't get in his head.
