Anthony Davis out tonight, NY keeps catching breaks although I am certainly not complaining.

</blockquote>
Kind of bummed. I was looking forward to watching the kid. It was probably the most interesting thing about this matchup.

Zach Lowe is the best in the business right now. Really no one holds a candle to him because he combines all levels of analysis.

I'm going to post something by next Sunday on the Amar'e front which works perfectly as a response to Lowe's piece.

http://www.grantland.com/story/_/id/8654356/carmelo-anthony-thriving-power-forward-knicks-a-7-1-start

I enjoyed this piece and it is true we are making some "bets" which are paying off on the offensive end. What this article totally neglects though is how much better of a team we are on defense.

I know that we were unreal under Woodson at the end of last season, but adding defenders of the caliber of Kidd, Brewer, Camby, Wallace and Thomas. Kidd harassed the shit out of David West yesterday which helped Carmelo, particularly in the fourth quarter when he came back in with 4 fouls. He is forever deflecting balls and creating chaos in the passing lanes. Definition of HOF.

Camby, Wallace and Thomas make it not just possible, but expected that our defense will at worst be a top-3 unit because we won't nosedive without Tyson. It also helps that Camby is an absolute machine on the boards. Once he is really ready to go I think he will have a huge impact and it's nice that we are deep enough that Camby is being SLOWLY eased back.

Brewer is off to an unsustainable shooting start, but his off ball movement make him a threat offensively. On defense there's not much to say than he is fantastic. I enjoy his non-fouling yet smothering defense. If he can teach Shumpert how to not foul we might not give up any points if Shump, Brewer and Tyson play together.

Oh yeah and like Lowe mentions that dip in our offense when Melo sits could have an easy cure if STAT is healthy. I know he's probably never going to reach the peaks of his 2010-2011, but he showed signs of efficiency and even a bit of defensive competence before his injury towards the end of last season. That Amar'e gives us a great chance along with the rest of the roster improvements to make a championship run.

Felton has been great.

Now Dolan is a genius
Now I brag again - it's been 13 years of red ears, tongue bites, blushing in shame :)
Now everything is so wrongfully right...
