I think one of the weirdest situations to be in as a player is to know that you're leaving a team but not wanting to, you know, say that to anyone. So I'm always curious as to how guys like Deron Williams handle it. He seems to have handled it pretty much perfectly until these most recent comments, which are probably giving a little too much information away.

He’s not a spectacular coach with this unit but unless you have a Popovich or Carlisle level of coach, I’d like to stick with D’Antoni. The only thing that really bothers me about him is play calling. Then again, Pop’s is at a whole nother level when it comes to that.

Yes! The moustache part is grossly underrated. We need an advanced metric just to calculate its importance to the operation.

D’Antoni is an average NBA coach. I think we renew his contract at the end of the season unless someone definitely better is available – I don’t think we want to fire one average coach for some other average guy who’ll have a whole new system and probably won’t even have a moustache.

Gideon Zaga: Wow so much optimism going on here. Must be nice. P. S. I still want the coach fired. Even on that losing streak, I knew this team was far better than the record and even now is still is. That’s what happens when you have Isaac Newton as your coach trying to prove his formula works.

Ridiculous to say he's trying to force a formula. Mike D. Has been way more adaptive than guys like you give him credit for. Indeed, this kind of criticism seems ironically intransigent at its heart, especially when compared to how Mike has adapted to the many, many players that he has had to coach over the past four years. Reminds me of the pot and the kettle

This may be wishful thinking from a big Amare fan, but I think we’re going to see the old STAT the second half of the season, or at least closer to that than the new diminished version. I think the time off will give him a chance to clear his mind (and hopefully loosen up his damn back) and we may see a revitalized Amare, which would be just awesome for this team.

Also, we better come out and kick some Cav butt tomorrow night, it’s time to start asserting ourselves over mediocre teams that have had our number over the past few years (Cleveland, Milwaukee, etc.)

No more excuses!

Intresting quote from Deron … Doesnt sound like a man that wants to stay long term as a Net.. brooklyn or jersey. Sounds like Cuban knew this before the season clueing us in on why he let chandler and barea leave without a fight.

Asked about his future Monday, Williams delivered what has become his standard response: “You know, I’m just trying to play out the season and look at my options after the season.”

Williams was also asked if he prefers the idea of being in his hometown or the arena itself.

“Home,” he said. “(And) I just like the arena. I think it’s a good shooting background. I just enjoy playing here. Fans — the fans are great. It’s always good when arenas have a lot of energy. Ours (the Prudential Center) doesn’t have too much energy.”
