It is killer, since we can’t even root for a particular seed, since we don’t know if the Celtics will be the #7 seed or the #6 seed. The Knicks will beat the Hawks or the Bucks (and likely the Celtics, it’ll just be more difficult).

All we can really say is that the Knicks really have to remain either the #2 or #3 seed, since #4 means a match-up against either the Bulls, Pacers or Nets (and while the Knicks should be able to beat the Nets and could certainly hold their own against the Pacers and Bulls, you don’t want to play them in the first round) and then a brutal second round match-up against you know who.

Knicks aint playing the Bulls or Pacers in the 1st round if they stay a Top 3 seed. Nets would most likely be their opponent in a 4/5 series. Celtics are a very likely opponent if the Knicks drop to the 3 seed but again w/o Rondo not sure how worried Id be of playing them.

2nd round will be tough and I certainly could see them lose then but if they at least hold on to a Top 3 seed I would be shocked if they lose in the 1st round.

BigBlueAL: If you want to feel better about the Knicks chances in the playoffs just watch all non-Heat East teams consistently.The Pacers who everyone fears because they dominated the Heat at home lose their next 2 home games to the Raptors and Nets w/o DWil.Bulls w/o Rose are inconsistent as hell and nobody is sure how healthy Rose will be when he returns.Celtics??Sorry w/o Rondo no matter how good they look (mostly against crap teams) I dont fear them anywhere near as much as I did before.I dont care about the Nets.
