Given the organization’s questionable relationship with CAA, I thought it was interesting to note that Lebron James has left them and is joining Rich Paul, who is also leaving CAA to start his own agency. It seems like Paul became an agent with CAA with the help of James and is now leaving with LBJ.

First NBA news that’s made me happy in a while.
lbjs agency makes you happy? ok then
I’m sick of Jimmy D getting played by CAA. Anything that makes CAA less powerful is good for the Knicks and for the NBA as a whole.

WP/48 of .178 last year, and he shot 45.5% from 3 last year (albeit on 33 attempts). I hope we don’t blow this one.
The Spurs will snatch him up and split his time with Leonard, making them once again the best team in the West.
T-Mac will sign with the Spurs and get cut halfway thru the season after complaining about a lack of playing time.
presumably by “once again”, you mean like they were in 2007, since those gaudy regular season records the last two years have resulted in a grand total of two playoff series won and two lost.
I like T-Mac, but come on, how could he possibly be happy with the minutes he would get on the Knicks (or the Spurs, for that matter)?
But yeah, if he was willing to really give it his all, he could play an important role at the 2. He’d be an amazing signing if he was willing to not get a ton of minutes.
My first ESPN Sports Legend Revealed column went up today! “Did Richard Nixon call a play in a game for the Washington Redskins?”
Check it out here.
Wow, we could send out a starting lineup that includes Kidd, Camby, T-Mac, Kurt Thomas, that’s a bonafide contender right there..oh wait, it’s 2012 not 2001.
hahahaha
I vote no on T-Mac and I know my vote is significant. About as significant as his role on this team. I’m certain Dick Nixon (one of my generations all-time favorites) would concur.

Can only be a good thing right?
You might have missed the 20-game win streak that included two playoff series, and then two in a row against the third best team in the league. But yeah, if you want to look at “2-2″ against “20-0,” that’s just a matter of your criteria in determining “best.”
i was about to post this, it can do nothing but help
i think its a little confusing because best usually means champion or at least got to the finals
I could see why there should be some recognition for the team that finishes with the best record, but I don’t see a fan base getting excited because they won the President’s trophy.
Marc Stein with a late night tweet:
Free-agent rumble: Knicks continue to rate Kenyon Martin as vet free agent they like best but NYK, to date, haven’t sold him on vet minimum
Kenyon, you’re not getting more than the vet minimum, dude! Don’t be Jermaine Dye and retire when you want to keep playing because you’re not getting the money you think you “deserve”! I love Kenyon Martin but I don’t know why he’d want the small minutes he’d get in New York. T-Mac seems odd, too, but at least T-Mac has a legit shot at earning some notable minutes. Between STAT, Melo, Camby and Novak, I don’t see there being enough minutes at the 4 for Martin to be happy. He’d be basically fighting for Jorts’ old minutes.
Kenyon is a funny guy when it comes to money and his sense of self worth. He more or less forced the Nets to trade him with his insistence on getting a max contract.
I’m with abbey on this one.
SRS, point differential, W-L. It’s not a clear hierarchy but it’s not indefensible.
Agreed, not indefensible, but at the end of the day, the “best team” over a 5-year period should get to the NBA finals at least once, especially when coached by arguably the best coach in the league. I will concede that they are a top-tier team and very enjoyable to watch, especially from a purist perspective. I never saw basketball played more beautifully than in their two wins vs. OKC and was surprised at how they just fell apart.
they were a lot better last year than in 2010-2011, when they went out in the first round to Memphis.
