Tyson Chandler ended the preseason in the worst possible way; on crutches and without knowing for certain if he will be available for next week’s season opener in Brooklyn. Chandler suffered a left knee injury in the first minute of the Knicks 97-95 overtime win against the Nets in the preseason finale for both teams at the Nassau Coliseum.The NBA’s reigning Defensive Player of the Year, will have an MRI on Thursday in New York. The Knicks are calling Chandler’s injury a sore knee but the veteran center believes it is a sprain.
The Knicks couldn't escape the final preseason game without another injury to a significant player. This time it's Tyson Chandler's health that has Mike Woodson's stomach in knots.

“I can tell, and as a team, we can tell, that he has a sense of urgency and he wants to regain his spot,” Anthony said. “He’s playing like he has a chip on his shoulder, which we endorse. For him to come back to New York after being traded and still have that look in his eye and want to make something happen and get something done and lead this team.
