domiknick: Jared Zwerling just tweeted that Shumpert will be starting. I really hope it doesn’t (and it shouldn’t?) but anyone think this will negatively affect J.R.? (i.e. that Shump in his 2nd year, after being out for 9 months due to an injury, will get to start in his 1st game back and Woodson hasn’t allowed Smith to start even once yet?)

If Jon Abbey doesn't lead off the game thread with a shump shump I'm going to be bitterly disappointed

It is a little weird that James White, Ronnie Brewer, Chris Copeland, and Kurt Thomas have all started games yet JR Smith and Amar’e Stoudemire stay coming off the bench.

I understand the rationale for Amar’e coming back from injury… or at least I did, anyway, until Shumpert gets the start in his 1st game back.

yellow – Yeah, I really don’t think he will, I guess I’m just hoping he doesn’t. At this point, I think we’ve had about 10 different starters? (the usuals, plus Thomas, Copeland, Brewer, White, Camby, etc.) So I think Smith must have a good understanding from Woodson of what his role on this team is, and that, regardless of who’s starting, Smith is going to get plenty of minutes.

James White has started over Jr so I doubt he gets upset about Shump. Imho.
