Not a huge Baron Davis fan. Even at his peak he was a crappier version of Marbury- a point guard who’s more than happy to pound the ball for 18 seconds and then drive to the hoop and hope something good happens. The last thing the Knicks need is an(other?) inefficient ballstopper with a 24+ usg%. If he’s willing to be primarily a distributer (and early in the clock), great- he might really help. But he’s never done that, his effort level and general demeanor has been very questionable, and he’s had health issues so I’d say he’s a pretty long shot to be a difference maker.

Mike has been comparing him to the washed up Steve Francis, it will become obvious what a poor comparison this is very quickly. this is a major move for NY, and allows Douglas to go back to SG where he’s a better fit (albeit undersized).

so last year, in the fifteen games he played with the cavs, he shot 42% for 14 ppg and 6 assists in 25 mpg. he shot a little worse but had 8 assists in 33 mpg with the clips.

i feel like if we get 7 assists and 12 ppg on 40-42% shooting in 22-25 mpg, that’s a great pickup, right? and very in line with what he’s done his whole career. he definitely doesn’t need to be jacking up threes though, he shoots 32% for his career.

Definitely like this move. I know the stat nuts here will pan this. But this is low risk high reward move. A motivated baron Davis could be an impact player on this team.
