If Lin will be out for 6 weeks, can we place him on IR and at least get some help at the 1 for the rest of the season?Even a D league 1 would help this team right now.

No IR in the NBA. If Knicks want to add a body, they need to waive one first.

Irving is out tonight. Too bad about Lin. Jon, I think the story said it was a "chronic" tear, not something "acute". I'm not sure that is based on the style of his play or wear, minutes and nature. Either way, Lin will be fine. So will the Knicks. Hey, let's get JJ healthy, let's get to the play-offs and play tough. If Lin will be out for 6 weeks, can we place him on IR and at least get some help at the 1 for the rest of the season? Even a D league 1 would help this team right now.

Kyrie Irving on the floor working out now. Per Byron Scott, Irving is a true game-time decision, based on how he feels after shooting around

less than four weeks to go in the regular season, for the record. this is the same way last season ended, ugh.

this is what I was saying about Lin's game since the start, it makes injuries very likely. of course anyone can get hurt, but his style makes it likely that he will be injured very frequently.

Screwed that post up, sorry.

The innuendo re: Lin's injury is kind of weird. The guy seems more than willing to play hurt, I doubt very much that it's his decision to rest. Re the 100% stuff, we all know he ain't gonna be 100% until next year. I think he's talking relative to playing in a way that hurts the team's chances to make the playoffs. I dunno, just don't think the guy is anything less than a gamer.

ruruland: Here’s a wild idea: Lin is sick of talking to the NY media about an injury issue that hasn’t changed all that much the last week.

I disagree. You have to see it from Lin's point of view: that there's no benefit to him in being a recluse. Also, he has never acted this way before; he has always been available and open. The only reasonable explanation for avoiding the media now is that he has been ordered to do so.
