so sounds like Brandon Roy is planning a comeback. Is he going to be a FA or will he have to go back to the Blazers? And if a FA, how much will he get? He probably can’t play more than 20 min/game at best given the chronic nature of his knee issue.

He can’t return to the Blazers until the 2014-15 season. Roy would be a great fit for a team on the vet minimum. Let him prove himself and then see if he can get a big contract from someone. I’d love him on the Knicks if I had any good news about his knee at all.

Gonna be interesting to see what the Knicks do at SG regardless of what JR Smith does. There has been alot of Ray Allen to NY rumors but cant imagine how they would sign him if they lose the bird rights case and have to use their exemptions to re-sign Lin and possibly Novak. Dont see Allen only getting bi-annual exemption offers.

Jackson was not the right guy for this team. Regardless of how it went down, Dolan would have just been throwing money away like he did on Larry Brown.

On another note, I heard Clyde as a guest on Michael Kay say that he had Shump in his restaurant and that Shump said he is aiming to be back on January 1.

Bill Simmons had a series of tweets this afternoon that said his inside sources said that Jackson was lying, he wanted to coach the Knicks and Dolan just never asked him.

formido: Not surprising at all. Phil Jackson is an overrated coach. After lucking into being Jordan’s coach, he only has to coach sure things.

You should be banned from this site for the stupidity of this statement. As a coach, the man has won eleven championships. But what does he know? You have a better idea - Melo should keep ball stopping and ball hogging the ball. That will get them far.

It seems obvious that this would be the case. Like if Billups had cleared waivers, we could have just re-signed him at thieves minimum, right?

Roy was amnestied. (Is there a rule barring amnestied players from returning to the team that amnestied them?)

Phil is right here. What happened to Mr Pringles when he asked Melo to start to do right things. Dolan is the biggest problem right now. PJ doesn’t need to mr Dolan to tell him what to do and Dolan doesen’t want to hear the truth. Fire Dolan!
