Metta also said that he wants to play hockey for the L.A. Kings lol.

      Sports scribblers will believe anything.

I don’t care what anyone says..if he signs with the Knicks it would be HUGE. Especially if Melo starts at SF. MWP is very coachable..he’s just a nut. But if Grunwald can land him it will add toughness to that 2nd unit and keep Melo fresh for the 4th and the playoffs. This has to happen. Has to.

    3. Vinny L.

ISOLA doesn’t want MWP coming to the Knicks. So read his stuff with that it mind.

The Knicks “brain trust” is decisive when it comes to wasting their MLE, and indecisive on MWP & Nate because the Knicks are interested in becoming the 5th seed in the east next season.

      Nets > Knicks

Yea..I’m officially worried about the Nets. Not ready to concede the Atlantic..but worried we will. They are building a tough squad..AK is just overkill. I hope Kidd an Frank can manage the egos. Melo and crew will need to work way harder than they did last season..Woodson has got to turn in a Auerbach-esque job coaching. Miami’s still around, D Rose is back, Indy has another year of confidence plus a healthy Granger, Nets are stacked, Wizards are coming, Cleveland will be a force if Bynum is healthy…every one of those team has better coaching except the Wizards and maybe Brooklyn. Jury’s still out on them. And I don’t think u can count Boston out if Rondo is healthy. Brad Stevens is a brilliant young coach. Should be interesting

The Knicks are “indecisive” on MWP? Um, the guy needs to clear waivers before the Knicks can move on him.

So let’s say we can get alien-abducted B-Diddy back in uniform and sign Metta and K-Mart to join JR Pipe. If I’m an HBO or ESPN exec, I’m all over this one for a season long documentary. Must watch TV.

    7. flossy

Yeah I think the Knicks “brain trust” putting up the WELCOME HOME RON ARTEST billboard before he clears waivers Sunday evening would be a bit counterproductive. Assuming they want him and he wants NYK, the best possible thing all parties could do is sound non-committal (or insane).

      I concur lol

you leaving this site would be the best development of the offseason, I eagerly await that.

Ted Nelson: I don’t think the Nets are as incredible as some people seem to, but I think you’re going way too far.

The Nets have several very good players. They probably won’t win the title, but they probably will win quite a bit. They were one win shy of 50 wins last season without all these guys.

Outside of basketball I don’t think needing to have one of the best players holds all that well. Sure, the best teams often do have some of the best players. Team sports other than basketball are far less reliant on individual talent, though.

I’ve probably made it sound like I think they will finish 7th in the East.

To clarify: I would consider them a 50-52 win team (which probably equates to 55 wins in next years Tanktastic East) that has enough exploitable weaknesses that I would favor any of the top 4 teams in the East to beat them in a playoff series (including us).

I know. Come home Ron Artest!

    12. danvt

We win most individual matchups with Brooklyn. The question is, who’s a better player, Carmelo or Deron. Conventional had it being Deron but didn’t that even out a little last year? Ima check it…

It’s now being reported that the Nuggets are interested in N8. Damnit! Also, Dallas is now royally screwed – Shane Larkin broke his ankle at practice.

So now the Nets get rid of a major thorn in their side in the east. Geese, next thing you know we’ll be hearing about the Nets signing Lebron for the veterans minimum next year. LOL!

Just cuz they’re interested doesn’t mean they’re actually gonna sign him. I don’t consider a player off the market until he’s actually OFF the market…there’s always time until it’s done.

What happened to that fantastic Kendall Gill article from yesterday?

I put it up too early by mistake. It’ll be back up Monday.

      Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 5h

Nate Robinson is apparently in talks with Bucks, Nuggets, Kings and Mavs.

      Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN 5h

Knicks reached out to Nate Robinson a few days ago, source tells the Daily News. Lil Him, however, is looking for more than the vet minimum

      Alex Kennedy @AlexKennedyNBA 5h

Following up on @ESPNSteinLine’s Nuggets tweet, I’m told Nate Robinson has also received interest from the Wizards, Bucks, Mavs and Lakers.

      Jared Zwerling @JaredZwerling 2h

Source: #Knicks have expressed interest in Samuel Dalembert. Yesterday at Vegas summer league Grunwald and Dalembert agent’s were chatting.

      Jared Zwerling @JaredZwerling 3h

Hearing Brandan Wright is not on the table for the #Knicks anymore because he’s close to a deal to re-sign with the Mavericks.
