Douglas: And who’s going to break down the defense to initiate said ball movement? Kidd is too slow. Prigs is no threat to score on the drive.

After this game, lol. I will never say anything bad about Ray-Ray again. I have now realized the centrality of his importance to Woodson’s offense. Suddenly his chucking doesn’t look so bad.

I mentioned that losing Felton was going to cause Melo's efficiency to nose dive earlier. Last night, instead of Felton chucking the open mid range looks the defense was giving up on the pick and roll, it was Melo doing so with the same space. Melo was playing point forward like early last year, and although he can do it for stretches it kills his efficiency going full time. Even Baron Davis could do a better job of running Woodson's pick and roll offense, Kidd is just not a threat to score off the pick and roll at all, and the Knicks are overextending him by asking him to guard point guards on the other end. Prigs is a solid backup and nothing more.

Felton is the third most important player for this team's offense after Chandler and Melo, Knicks are still 18-6 when those 3 are playing.

hoolahoop:
This team needs to define themselves with lock-down defense and a smart offense characterized by great ball movement, anchored by the best go to guy in the league.

What I see is No ball movement. Too much iso, hero-ball, starting with the guy that was having an MVP season. Defensive sluggishness and lapses.

The knicks are reverting back to the way they played last season.
It seems like Woodson is losing the team. To say everything will be fine once Felton gets back is ridiculous.
