Season subscriptions are primarily corporate owned. The folks using them are as dispassionate as the empty chairs that they fill.
Given how huge MSG is, I don't see how anyone can isolate how changes in the Knicks franchise as a whole, much less the change of a single player on the roster, have a measurable effect on the stock price, on top of the fact that there would be price fluctuations even if nothing about the team changed whatsoever.
Even if we entertain the idea that there is some degree of correlation between stock price and franchise decisions, the effect on the stock price would nevertheless be delayed because the financial report reflects what happened a quarter ago. Again, there are too many variables and fluctuations to conclude anything.
As far as the renewal of season tickets is concerned, that happened before Lin went to Houston, and it is certainly fair to think that some of those buyers renewed their season tickets on the assumption that Lin would be continue to be a Knick. On the other hand, there is every indication over the years that ticket sales are strong even despite the team's record and questionable decisions by the franchise.
