why shhhh if we lose jr (one of our "slashers") and picked someone up such as gary neal or henrich as suggested above and had iverson as a third string for the vets minimum i think that would be legit. His spot up jumper has got to be better than fields' and TD's even if they work on it this summer. IMO TD is a lost cause and should be traded for literally anything they can get. Iverson has a career playoff average of 29 ppg. And yes i realize he wasn't able to adapt to being a role player a few years ago but hes older(wiser) and more desperate now. You know hes a competitor...

Been following the site all season finally decided to make an account..what do you guys think about giving iverson a shot on a 10 day contract or at least working him out to see what his game is like if that is possible? I mean he had success with melo and was coached by woodson in phily? He has got to be more serviceable than TD, Bibby and potentially even B diddy, no?

ruruland: Boston will play better, though. And you saw signs of what they’ll be able to do offensively. It was just a matter of missing a lot of free throws and James/Wade playing another B+ or A combined game.

Maybe McHale and Bird or Magic and Kareem had a 4 game stretch where they were both dominant, but I doubt they were putting up a combined 57.5/19.5/13 on close to 60%

unheard of

Totally agree. LBJ is taking good shots for the most part, but Wade's degree of difficulty on his shots is just insane. It looks great now, but it was just a week or so ago that none of these shots were falling. I just hope from an Anti-Heat standpoint that this happens sooner rather than later.

I can't decide who I want in the Western Conference -- I think San Antonio would be a great story, but I wonder whether only OKC has the athletes to compete with the Heat.

I'm rooting Celtics also - I certainly don't like Boston sports, but for the most part, the only really heated rivalry right now between NYC and Boston is the Jets and Patriots. The Red Sox and Yankees are like the rich fighting the rich since both teams have won multiple world series in the last decade or so. And like Max - I just don't feel a huge amount of hate towards the Celts. Even now when both teams are good, neither team is a true contender, so it's like low level squabbling / fighting for scraps as far as I'm concerned.

My hate of Miami runs deep - I'm not sure why, but maybe it's an anti-bully thing. It really is like all the best players on the winners-stay-on-the-court pickup game all decided to play together. Their playing together wasn't done in competitive spirit - they decided to play together because they thought it would be the easiest thing to do. Thumbs down from me, and I'll root for the underdog against them every time.

Agreed. The hate comes from the other sports in particular the Red Sox and Patriots.I also just hate the city of Boston in several ways the antithesis of NYC. For the Knicks outside of last year don’t see how you could hate the celts more other than the above.

lol. Pierce is injured and it's clearly bothering him. Ray Allen is injured and is for some reason turning into Fields at the free throw line. Rondo also played like crap. Rondo and Pierce can't play worse...but it was really the role players that killed the Celtics.

I'm a big Iverson fan, but you can't run a coherent offense with him, which makes him a really bad role player.

At his best it was constant penetration -- and yes, open looks when he felt like passing-- but poor pick and roll passer, below average sput -up guy (though he was great off curls)

Just doesn't do role player things well, and he's one of those guys that started to lose it suddenly. '08 was when he lost a couple steps.

He'd be more serviceable than those guys but I'd still want to go in a better direction.
