Other arbitrary splits bear out that JR has always been a second half guy.

This guy will show up at some point, and when he does, how good can the offense be?

d-mar: Thanks for putting it in perspective, none of us are happy about the Knicks play lately, but everyone is stumbling and we’re still #2 in the East.

Re: the Bulls – I don’t understand how against us, they make it look virtually impossible to get an open look and completely shut us down, but in their last four games they’ve given up 111, 128, 93 and 103 points tonight to a SA team without Duncan, Ginoboli and Parker. Do they just get way up to play us, or is just matchups?

Trust me alot of times I have to sit back and relax to gain some perspective because lately watching the Knicks play D has been beyond frustrating for me. Some people here though are beginning to believe this team may not even get out of the 1st round but to me thats ridiculous because they obviously havent watched the teams trailing the Knicks in the standings and dont realize how good the Knicks are compared to the rest of the teams in the East.

I consider this team to be a 50+ win team and expect them to make a deep run in the playoffs. This is a very good team, the best Knicks team since the 1999-00 team and they are gonna have the best regular season for a Knicks team since the 1996-97 team. Heck if they do finish with the 2nd best record in the East that will be the first time for a Knicks team since the 1995 Knicks and a 2 seed would be their best seed since 1994. So to me this is turning into a pretty special Knicks season especially for Knick fans like myself who werent alive during the championship seasons in the early 70's and only have fond memories of the 1990's to compare this to. Its kinda nice to be frustrated with a good team again and not the crap we had to watch for a decade.

I will say though that thank God the Knicks are in the East and not the West lol.

For one, their anomalous mid range and 3-pt shooting against the Knicks sort of makes the Knicks offense less patient, which can sometimes mean death against great strong-side defense.

At any level of basketball, hot shooting = energy = improved confidence.

They play with a lot of confidence against New York. All it takes is one game to flip the script.

We complain about the Knicks alot (rightfully so lol) but look at the other top non-Heat teams in the East.Pacers have recently lost home games to the Raptors and tonight a DWil-less Nets. The Bulls are getting blown out at home vs a Spurs team playing the 2nd game of a back-to-back w/o Parker/Manu/Duncan.The Nets lost last night at home to those same Spurs and have 5 more losses than the Knicks.

The Knicks still have 4 fewer losses than the Pacers and Bulls yet all you will read about is how the Pacers and Bulls are the biggest threats to the Heat and now of course the Celtics are feared w/o Rondo and you still have Barkley saying the Nets are still better than the Knicks. We all know the Knicks have their flaws which are being exposed more frequently lately but they are still the 2nd best team in the East and to me only a healthy Derrick Rose can prevent them from facing the Heat in the Conference Finals.
