There are different ways of being a fan though. I do plan on going to as many Knicks games as I can afford now that I’m in the city (which admittedly is not many on this tiny little grad student stipend haha).

No problem and a very gracious reply. It's a shame Knicks tickets are so damn expensive these days. Back in the day $50 got me court side. ; ) I won't tell you who was President then but it was awhile ago. Enjoy your time in the city and all it has to offer. Best of luck to you in all you do.

Jenny makes a great point of how cool it is to see a player figure it out and go to the next level. The impact of that evolution kid unique to basketball — it adds to the beauty of the game. Carmelo has demonstrated that transformation through the first 6 games.

Whether Jenny comes back to comment more…who knows? We didn’t provide the most auspicious welcome.

irish2u2: I don’t believe I am telling you how to live your life but obviously age and experience are factors here and you have neither. But you do have an opinion which is great. Does that opinion stay the same in 10 years? Now there is a question but in the meantime like as many teams as you wish, make yourself happy and best of luck to you in all your endeavors. FWIW, “tortured fandom” is a nice turn of a phrase but in reality being a Knicks fan has always been a joy to me even when they were awful. It’s part of what I am. Not a significant part but an enjoyable part especially all the years I lived in the metro area and could see the Knicks in person. You never know what is important till you don’t have it any more which is why I am insanely grateful for NBA League Pass. ;)

Here’s an interesting Lin stat- Last year he was an amazing iso player- eighth in the league in ppp. at 1.02, turning it over just 6.5% of the time. This year he has yet to score in an iso situation- he’s only had 14 iso possessions so far (12.5% of his total possessions used as opposed to 15.9% last year) and has turned it over on 6 of those possessions (42.9%). Obviously a really small sample size and those number will improve (you can’t get any worse) but yikes!

I was really impressed with the job he did on Parker in the first half last night. when Prigioni came in, Parker started going at him repeatedly and Felton couldn't shut him down quite as well in the second half, but since Parker is often unguardable by any single defender, I was impressed.
