I'm probably in the vast minority here, but I have problems with the NY Times almost daily. While I always read it, I personally do not relate to much of their (its?) politics and world views. I will not comment further in that regard. Usually, my problems with the Times do include sports, but I was frankly disgusted by the Beck article. You know, the Amare issue is old news, but raising it after he says that coming off the bench is cool, to me is just BS and clearly agenda driven. Beck basically said he was worth nothing to the Knicks and is an albatross. You know what, when the playoffs come around, stay off the band wagon Beck and I don't care how long you have been a fan. I also don't care if you hate Dolan or other rich people. The Nets are right around the corner and you can catch their bus near downtown Brooklyn. Just my opinion guys, but I was really disappointed with the entire tenor of the article.

Juany8: Can you imagine if Melo got the kind of calls Lebron gets? He’d be second in the league in free throw attempts behind Dwight, who is hacked all the time anyways

Forget about getting calls to get to the free throw line, apparently LeBron has not been called for a foul of any kind in the past 5 games. Thats insane and absurd lol.

@21 the most unaccountable writer in the history of sports had to be Peter Vecsey, who would just throw out countless unfounded rumors about trades and deals that never ended up happening.

As much of an ass as Stephen A. Smith is, he can always hang his hat on getting LeBron to Miami first.

I read the beat writers strictly for the news. I follow guys like Isola and Berman on Twitter to read stuff on injured players since they are at the shoot arounds and are usually the first people to report if guys are playing or not. I dont read them for their analysis and quite frankly dont care what they think about the team and how good they are.

My thing with Beck is that again he seemed to go out of his way in the past couple of years to squelch any optimism around the team. Now he is not even the beat writer for the Knicks anymore yet writes an article today basically talking about how much the Knicks dont want Amar'e and how his return could hurt the team. Pretty unnecessary to me considering he doesnt even cover the team on a daily basis anymore plus he writes this at a time when the Knicks have the best record in the East with almost a third of the season done. Again just seems like he is trying to be critical of the team at a time when quite frankly this team deserves nothing but praise.
