      KP and the Mindawg going head to head tonight. Lithuania should be a better test for our Latvian giant.

    2. Z-man

      I checked Serbia’s box score from yesterday and Jaramaz was not listed, wonder why. Is he injured? Did he not make the team?

    3. Bruno Almeida

      Jaramaz is not on Serbia’s roster, he was in the preliminary squad and I can’t find anything about an injury, so he probably just didn’t make the cut. Serbia has a lot of talent in the guard rotation so that does not surprise me much… still a bummer for us.

      “Kevin Durant never scored 40 points on LeBron James?,’’ Beasley said. “Like Golden State isn’t running 140 points on everyone and Houston too. … It’s only a problem when I play defense. I’m always watching half the game. I’ve never had a chance to play defense a whole game to be good at it. I’ve never had a chance to play a whole game and let the game manifest itself.”

      Yup. Big things. I’m predicting big things. It’s only a problem when he actually plays defense. Good to know…

    5. Z-man

      KP still looks a bit shaky on D, got smoked by JV; KP just drove by JV but couldn’t finish a dunk.

      Good, competitive game, though!

    6. Brian Cronin

      Sort of funny, but is that the kind of funny you want on your team? I mean, he is out there!

      No, not really, but I dunno, is Beasley even really going to be a big part of this team? If he is, they’re probably in trouble, ya know?

    7. Z-man

      A Latvian player named Davis Bertans caught my eye, had no idea that he played 800 minutes of .135 WS48 ball with the Spurs last year!

    8. Brian Cronin

      Yeah, he had some cool plays for the Spurs last year. He had this one really awesome three. I’ll try to find it for ya.

    9. JK47

      I’d rather not see KP balling out 100% on defense in a meaningless Latvia vs Lithuania game. Take it easy out there, tall skinny guy!

    10. Z-man

      Yeah, he’s def a good rotation player on a good team. Lots of really good players in this game!

    11. Z-man

      If KP doesn’t wind up getting hurt, this is great training for him, Willy and Kuz. Speaking of which, Kuz played nearly the entire game and definitely looked stronger out there. He guarded KP a lot and was pretty effective, which worries me a bit.

    12. Bruno Almeida

      Lithuania is probably at least a top 5 team in eurobasket this year, so its nice to see Porzingis and Latvia hanging on there.

      If KP really shows up in the group stage Latvia has a good chance at making it far, specially if they can upset Serbia playing without Jokic and Raduljica.

    13. Silky Johnson, Fleet Admiral of the Tank Armada

      @24

      Lithuania is ranked #5 worldwide, nevermind in Europe (where they’re probably #3)

      @25

      Thanks!

    14. Bruno Almeida

      @26

      I know, that’s why I said at least, but they haven’t been playing well, lost friendlies against Georgia and now Latvia. Spain, Greece, Serbia and Croatia all have a pretty big chance at being better than they are now, the eurobasket power rankings even put them at 5th behind those. Greece being without Giannis and Serbia without Jokic and Raduljica will help them a lot tho.

    15. The Glass Half Rebuilt

      I don’t know how to feel about KP’s efficiency numbers or his lack of offensive rebounds. This is probably just an exercise in film review.

    16. Will the Thrill

      KP has always been a bit of a streaky shooter and had his fair share of 4 for 12 games last year. I don’t think he will ever be an elite jump shooter and wouldn’t expect him to boost his efficiency by making more jump shots. His key to success going forward is finding ways to get more easy buckets instead of relying so much on his jump shooting.

    17. 2FOR18, understands math

      Dear Knicks,
      See what the Mets are doing? That’s what you should be doing.

      Thank you,
      A concerned fan

    18. danvt

      @33 We have a lot of 5’s (and twos)
      @34 IDK. I see what you mean but the Mets are post trade deadline. Knicks wanna see what they have right now. It is possible that Lee and TH2 play together. O’Quinn is good. Maybe we need to give the team credit for not making bad deals involving these guys (not talking about the TH2 deal which may be excessive, I’m talking about Lee and O’Quinn). Who knows what they might have been offered.

    19. KnickfaninNJ

      @35 know we don’t need Plumlee, but some people here like him, so I passed on the news. I actually thought he played badly in Summer League, much worse than he should have been given his experience; so I don’t mind letting him go at all. I will say that it is remarkable to me how many of our ex end of the bench players find roles on other teams. Plumlee, Jason Smith, Galloway, Derrick Williams, are the ones I remember off of the top of my head.

    20. stratomatic is despondent

      When we signed Beasley people were optimisticly pointing to his improved TS% and other stats. I made the point that there are reasons he hasn’t been able to stick anywhere, including Miami where they gave him multiple chances. Now we are getting to know him better.

    21. thenoblefacehumper

      Beasley’s attitude really makes me mad that we’re stuck with him for one season at the veteran’s minimum

    22. stratomatic is despondent

      There are degrees of stupid. On a scale of 1-10, signing Beasley for a year at the minimum is probably only a 1 or 2. But why be stupid at all? They could have used the roster spot either now or later for a young player that might be part of the long term future.
