I wholeheartedly agree with your rotation, Ian. However, I disagree with your assessment of Penny.

He has no heart. He's a bitch.

Also, I would take Lee over Butler, but hey, that's a small quibble.

Hi,

Dave, that was a fantastic analysis, although I would have loved to see more of it.

I've been in the UK for the past couple of months and have still managed to catch a bunch of games (at great cost in terms of effort and lack of sleep, but oh well) and it just kills me watching the Knicks make the kind of mistakes that they do. We've looked fabulous in the first halves of games recently, but our second half stats (over the course of the past 7 games or so, that is) must be just brutal in comparison.

I really do feel like the progress is tangible, though. We nearly knocked out top 10 teams on consecutive nights.

I agree with you David that the decision making on the team is maddening, and one of the best ways to help ease that is guys playing together.
Larry Brown needs to find a damn rotation already and stick to it. We're about at the quarter mark of the season and you can tell guys are still uncomfortable in their roles and playing time is wildly inconsistent from night to night. My 2 cents:

Starters:
Marbury-Of course
Crawford-streaky, so needs consistency to stay aggressive and keep from disappearing.
Richardson-even when his shot is off has shown ability to defend and rebound
Frye-of course
Curry-needs to fix conditioning, but that's like saying the sky is blue.

Bench:
Robinson-good energy, but bench is where he belongs for now
Taylor-has shown flashes of rebounding and scoring ability, I would like to see what he can bring if given consistent role
Butler-decent backup, needs better awareness
Ariza-he can dunk, get an occasional steal, but just a change of pace type player for now

Need more DNPs in their future:
Davis-has heart, but that's about all that's left
Lee-rebounding and hustle, but not quite at the level he needs to be yet
Rose-too many ugly shots, too many turnovers
Penny-see Davis above
James-he's 7ft. he makes 30 mil. nothing else.
Woods-good if you like weed and dog fights
