Cronin, I agree. I just do not want the Bulls getting Oden or any other high draft pick on account of the Knicks. Then, next year they can suck and start rebuilding the real way. By shedding salary and rebuilding through the draft and free agency.

"Knick fans are looking forward to this season"

wow, wasn't expecting to see that line. These are dark days.

I"m surprised at how rah-rah it is in here. almost like this is the blog of zek's administrative staff.

but yeah we should improve. Curry and Frye are our frontcourt, and we'll be as good as they allow us to be.

we might win a few more games, but paying to get rid of larry brown, that was when we cut the rope. our previews are irrelevant for at least the next five years. barring some unforseen miracle.

and miracles do happen ...

The Frye thing I SORTA understand. They obviously think (whether it's true or not) that Frye can make the open three, so he devised a game plan that would get Frye wide open for a look at a tying three.

The play was executed perfectly, the question just is, "CAN Channing Frye seriously make three pointers?"

If the answer is no, then the play is dumb.

If the answer is yes, then the play makes sense.

Jeeeeez. Did Isiah really call for Crawford to shoot two 22 footers to win the game? Did he really call for Frye to shoot a quick three out of a timeout? What the shit?

Watching the game now. Steve Francis fouled out with two points, after dribbling the ball off his foot in crunch time. I needed a forum simply to say, he sucks...

thanks for providing me with an outlet...

oh yeah, jamal crawford is 3 of 20

I would just love missing the top ten draft picks.

That is enough for me this year. 8 seed would be good, too.

Oh, as an aside, let me point out something I read on Yahoo! today by Santosh Venkataraman - "They are all part of a crowded backcourt situation that includes Jamal Crawford -- the Knicks' best player last season -- and Nate Robinson."

Jamal Crawford was good last year, but the Knicks' best player!??

I actually believe the Knicks are going to surprise everyone and end up around 45 wins. I think that too much weight has been put on the results of last year. That year was tainted by turmoil and injury. They started the year with too many new players, out of shape players and no chemistry or cohesiveness. That situation has been totally turned around this year. The only key injury is that of Jared. The team shows that they have a clear understanding of what they're doing and we haven't seen the best of them yet. They're going to improve as the season goes along and they jell more and start to master this new system.

Isiah is a huge factor, cuz he's a great communicator and he has done a great job of selling his vision to the players. They like him and they like the system. Don't underestimate that. I think this team is actually setup very nicely for the future. WE have depth and talent and most of it is young enough to be around for a nice run.

Great preview. I agree that Richardson is damn important to a succesful season. If he ain't bringing it, we're gonna need some seriously help behind the arc.

I agree with Count Zero. Mid-30s seems pretty accurate. I just hope they don't back into the playoffs or a false sense of contention. I'll be watching every game, hoping that they lose so that the Isiah era will finally, finally end. (But not lose so badly that the Bulls get Oden or Noah.)

I'm very encouraged by the recent cost-cutting moves, although maybe it would have been smarter to hold onto our expiring contracts to trade them for future draft picks...
