JR Smith and Kris Humphries Talk Some Trash

JR Smith has always been one of the more popular players in the New York Knicks camp for his very “eccentric” way of going about his problems. As many athletes have taken to Twitter to voice their opinion, in the basketball world JR Smith has got to be one of the more popularly followed trash talkers of the recent year.

Today was no different for the eight-year veteran fired verbal shots at forward Kris Humphries, in what was one of the funniest tweets of the new year. Humphries had no response. The Knicks lost to the Brooklyn Nets, 88-85, but it seems as though Smith came out on top.

Ha ha, it’s funny ’cause JR Smith couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn nor get a hand in Joe Johnson’s face to contest the game winning shot. Wait… maybe I don’t get it.

The implication is that with respect to his ex-”wife” neither did Humphries, Kanye gets it all day and all night.

To me this is even more lacking in class than what KG said to Melo. At least that was in the heat of the moment. Not J.R.’s finest moment.

I have never watched that awful Kardashian show, but my uncle used to talk about how much of an asshole Humphries came off as. Given that their marriage was more theater than anything else, I don’t really pity him much for marrying and divorcing a publicity hound like that.

yeah just to be clear, I do get the joke. I just think it’s crass to be talking smack on twitter after your team just got beat, particularly if your shitty play was a big factor in the loss.

I don’t pity him, just pointing out that on this blog and elsewhere Knicks fans were all up in arms about what a punk KG was for making a comment about Melo’s wife. I don’t see how JR’s comment is much different than that. A little less explicit but with the same essential purpose.

I’m not saying that anyone should or shouldn’t care/be offended about these incidents. Your mileage may vary. Just saying that they’re pretty similar incidents. It’s not like Melo’s wife is exactly out of the spotlight.
