So it’s been said. Watch him land in Miami, and actually be in shape and “focused” like he says and then team with Dwade, Marion, and Beasley to lead them to another championship…or at least conf finals. Sickening how things seem destined to play out sometimes.

I actually hope Marbury goes to Miami. There is probably enough talent there with the addition of Marbury for them to make a serious playoff run. That would allow both his supporters and critics to get a glimpse of him on a very good team to see how he performs. It’s irrelevant to the Knicks because we aren’t going anywhere this year anyway.

I’ve always felt Marbury could be a decent contributor on a team where he’s NOT the focus of the offense and isn’t the one that has carry the team and deliver in crunch time. That’s the role he would have in Miami.

Can his ego handle it or will he self destruct?

I’ve seen no evidence to date that he can handle a minor role without causing trouble and even less evidence he can handle the major role.

I tend to agree with you on this.

I realize this group tends to be more stat oriented, but I think there are psychological factors that contribute to winning and losing in tight circumstances.

It’s very difficult to prove these kinds of things, but some of the time you “just know” whether a player/team is a winner or loser by how they react to some circumstances.

No one is calling for Marbury to be waived. If it happens it is because Walsh doesn’t want the distraction…

But when January rolls around and the Knicks are 20 games under .500, he may wish he had a $20 million kicking bag lying around.

If Crawford has another good year I think we keep him and could possibly get him for maybe a bit more than he is making now . I dont think other teams would see Crawford playing well under D’antoni as inflated numbers either because how do you inflate the numbers of someone who put up 20 and 5 the year before .If anything it would validate them.
