  1. Sorry, the Game Threads have been self-posting for a while now, so I missed it when this one didn’t. Thanks, Owen!

  2. Whenever it’s Wally as the commentator my enjoyment for the game drops by at least 60%. God I can’t stand his platitudes and “players only” style bullshit.

  3. holy cow, i need to be a little more selective in my web browsing…just had a trump – “keeping america great” t-shit (i’m leaving that typo alone) ad appear on this page…

ugh, i gotta go wash my eyeballs now…

  4. Stratomatic "I'm tired of the Knicks paying lip service to DEFENSE. Get defenders & two-way players. Then play them! says:

    Maybe we underestimated Knox’s upside?

  5. I’ve checked out. Put on game to watch Trae. I’m beyond amazed at Knox tonight. That was a quarter of KD on both ends.

  6. I dunno when we signed the Ayatollah Of Rock’N’Rolla as a backup center but I like it.

there are just some references that i feel like i might kind of know…had to actually look up who the ayatollah of rock’n’rolla is :)

1). Lord Humongous – from Mad Max
    2). Chris Jericho
3). Stitch Jones (character played by Mario Van Peebles in Heartbreak Ridge)

the one i had “slightly” recalled was from heartbreak ridge…just read though that kornet is wearing a mask from a collision with embiid – so, i’m gonna guess it’s ol’ lord humongous…

  7. just following the box score…looks like fiz will need to get creative with his rotations to keep this one close and possibly hang a W on the hawks…

  8. This was always going to be a tough game to lose, so I think it’s fine to have fun with this win. Great to see Knox balling like crazy out there!

  9. Collins is tough. Reminds me a bit of Buck Williams.

I loved Buck and I can sort of see where you’re going here as he also had those nice hands and quick and powerful ups, but at core they are really different players. Buck was one of the better defenders in the league and as you probably saw Collins does a pretty good David Lee imitation on that end. on the other hand Collins has a better handle and is much shiftier on offense and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him put up a couple of really big scoring seasons before it’s all over.

  10. Stratomatic "I'm tired of the Knicks paying lip service to DEFENSE. Get defenders & two-way players. Then play them! says:

Knox tends to have big 1st quarters and then doesn’t do all that much later. I wonder if he gets gassed?

  11. boy wonder and company are getting absolutely run off their home court by Milwaukee. Giannis has taken one shot and the Bucks are up 20.

  12. Why is this Mudiay shit still going on? At this point I can’t really tell if I’m more annoyed or amused. Why can’t we have a single year where we just suck and lose a lot of games and end up with a top 3 pick.

At least Knox is still having a good game, even if he cooled off a lot since the first half.

  13. I honestly think Knox and his secret twin brother are regularly pulling one of those parent trap things on us at halftime

  14. Mudiay is definitely getting extended. Also I withhold judgment on Knox and Mudiay until I see them do this against an NBA team.

  15. apparently bondy was barred from press conference today. I’m not a fan of bondy mainly bc he tries to be a funny prick like Isola except that Isola is actually funny once in a while. but still that’s typical Dolan/msg bullshit to ban him.

I can’t believe we are on the doorstep of losing here.

  16. I’m pretty sure Knox is getting gassed. He’s kind of like Porzingis in that he plays at 180 mph for part of the game and then has nothing left.

It’s kind of hard to believe how bad they are right now.

  17. Damn, I really thought there was no way they could pull off this L. I thought we were going to beat the Suns and Hawks easily. Glad this team keeps surprising us.

  18. Another 30 fir mudiay … I’m sorry but we can’t sign him if he is a backup. Doesn’t make sense .we have a trade chip here

  19. Also, don’t look now, but the totally dead and trash Spurs has won their 5th straight game by 25+ points today. I guess Pop isn’t going down without a fight.

  20. It would be so completely and utterly Knicksy for us to tank our way to the worst record in the NBA and then pick 5th in the draft.

  21. The beauty of it is they are playing to win…. or at least they think they are playing the best players the most minutes and that sort of speaks volumes…

  22. Really proud of the tank job we’re doing. Zion and Porzingis will team up and destroy people.

  23. Wow those Atlanta colors/jerseys are ugly.

But I’ll take the loss and the tank.

  24. @52 Spoken like a true Knicks fan

Spectacular loss tonight. Tank on, the Zion dream is alive.

Good games by Knox and Mudiay. Not sure what to make of that compared to the many games they have totally sucked.

  25. So we’ve lost to pheonix, the hawks and the cavs, our schedule for the next 4 weeks is a nightmare, and fivethirtyeight’s projection model now thinks we’re finishing last.

Meanwhile Knox is looking like he has some sort of future and we’ve got Trier and Mitch returning to look forward to. And begley says our interest in Parker is about ‘having an interest in any expirings that become available’ – i.e a wholly sensible strategy.

If only mud’s resurgence (or, I guess, ‘surgence’) belonged to Frank things would really be looking pretty good for the start of 2019!
