Nate shooting at the right basket this time to end the quarter!

    And missing :(

Nice to see Gallo hit the boards a little but man, not going after the loose ball after fumbling it was bush league. I assume he was just winded, but come on.

  3. 3
    Brian Cronin says:

Nice to see second effort from Chandler!

  4. 4
    Brian Cronin says:

    Tie game.

    Wow.

  5. 5
    DRed says:

Nice to see Nate putting it in the right basket

  6. 6
    Brian Cronin says:

    Knicks up one.

    Wow.

  7. 7
    Brian Cronin says:

That was absurd that they did not collapse on Perkins, especially Nate not coming off of Rondo.

  8. 8
    Z says:

We’re 20 minutes into this game and we’re not down by 20.

    In fact, WE’RE WINNING!

Has this team turned a corner– where even if they don’t win, they at least show up to play?

  9. 9
    Brian Cronin says:

Wait, so Gallo should play more?

    Weird.

  10. 10
    Robert Silverman says:

C’mon guys, close out the half well…

  11. 11
    Brian Cronin says:

You have to love how Harrington thought that that was a good play.

  12. 12
    Brian Cronin says:

    Thank you, Chandler, for driving.

  13. 13
    Robert Silverman says:

    I loathe Paul Pierce…

  14. 14
    Brian Cronin says:

Sometimes you really have to marvel at how dumb Harrington can be.

  15. 15
    tastycakes says:

    Harrington’s a black hole. It’s startling.

  16. 16
    Robert Silverman says:

Al, when there are two folks guarding you, you can pass it. You don’t have to keep it. Give it to the tall Italianate fellow, f’rinstance

  17. 17
    Brian Cronin says:

He’s triple-teamed and his teammates are jumping up and down for the ball and he still tries to drive.

    Amazing.

  18. 18
    Brian Cronin says:

Down three is really not that bad.

  19. 19
    Brian Cronin says:

Boy, this interview with Tracy Morgan is goddawful.

  20. 20
    DRed says:

That half was really not bad at all. At least it was competitive. Baby steps

  21. 21
    BigBlueAL says:

This is the first game ive been able to watch in awhile and I must say I have been pleasantly surprised so far. Nice 1st half for the Knicks, it would be great if they can somehow pull this one out.

  22. 22
    Owen says:

I think I saw Lee smiling on the court, first time this year….

  23. 23
    BigBlueAL says:

How about that dunk Gallo had in the 1st quarter btw. My bro was watching the game with me at the time and he was like WTF!! lol

  24. 24
    Brian Cronin says:

Knicks step on the line waaaaaaay too often.

  25. 25
    DRed says:

We’re not exactly roaring out of the gate right here.

  26. 26
    Brian Cronin says:

D’Antoni called the timeout a possession too late.

Also, Gallo really needs to take some lessons from Harrington in being more arrogant.

  27. 27
    tastycakes says:

Well, it was nice that they competed for a half.

  28. 28
    GAx says:

    THERE we go.

I think that was the first *-on-1 break I’ve seen this season. I was almost afraid Wilson was going to pull up for the ju-OH FOR FUCK’S SAKE HOW MANY TIMES CAN YOU LET RONDO JUST BASKET TOSS IN LAYUPS??

  29. 29
    DRed says:

Chandler can’t guard Garnett, but that was a terrible call.

  30. 30
    tastycakes says:

    That Rondo layup was unguardable.

  31. 31
    GAx says:

Well shit…I NEED to get a rooster hat now.

  32. 32
    tastycakes says:

Ray Allen is KILLING my fantasy team!

  33. 33
    Brian Cronin says:

    Knicks up three.

    Wow.

  34. 34
    DRed says:

    Wow-great effort to come back.

  35. 35
    Brian Cronin says:

Isn’t it amazing how good Harrington looks when he’s playing within himself?

  36. 36
    Z says:

Wow– it’s fun to root for a team that plays well.

  37. 37
    Frank says:

Eddy Curry is continuing is 13.3 rebounds/40 pace so far! I think I just saw him get 2 rebounds in 30 seconds. I had to rub my eyes.

  38. 38
    Brian Cronin says:

Probably don’t want Curry dribbling with his back to the basket.

  39. 39
    Gorky says:

Yeah, Eddy Curry’s rebounding is impressive as hell. Can we end the game now?

  40. 40
    Brian Cronin says:

    Wow, Chandler, soooo dumb.

  41. 41
    Brian Cronin says:

First points of the fourth quarter, right?

  42. 42
    DRed says:

    Shake and bake!

  43. 43
    Brian Cronin says:

Beautiful tip by Gallo, great three by Nate.

  44. 44
    Brian Cronin says:

    Geez, Rasheed.

  45. 45
    Brian Cronin says:

    Hahaha, Curry drawing the charge!!!

    Hahahahahaha

  46. 46
    Brian Cronin says:

Dammit, Gallo, that was a decent look!

  47. 47
    Robert Silverman says:

Eddy drew a charge? I thought they changed the NBA bylaws to make that impossible.

PS – the Nix have a chance to pull away here and they’re blowing it

  48. 48
    Brian Cronin says:

And yes, it is not fair of me to presume Gallo will make every look he gets.

  49. 49
    DRed says:

encouraging work on the boards from Gallo today.

  50. 50
    Z says:

Garnet and Wallace are a combined 1-16

  51. 51
    Z says:

Oops. I shouldn’t have said that.

  52. 52
    Robert Silverman says:

Eddy with an offensive rebound too. Wow, indeed

  53. 53
    Robert Silverman says:

Coach Mike – can you please put that Lee fellow back in? Pretty please?

  54. 54
    Brian Cronin says:

I don’t like this whole “running the offense through Curry” thing.

It’s not bad for certain times of the game, but crunch time? Seriously?

  55. 55
    Brian Cronin says:

The weird thing about Lee not being in is that he was in during the comeback, so it’s weird not to go to him now.

  56. 56
    Z says:

Curry has drawn a charge, gotten an offensive rebound, and hit a free throw. Who is this guy?

  57. 57
    Brian Cronin says:

Does D’Antoni seriously think that this is the right lineup for crunch time?!?

  58. 58
    DRed says:

What a stupid flagrant by Eddy.

  59. 59
    Z says:

And then he punches Rondo for no reason what-so-ever. That’s my boy!

  60. 60
    Robert Silverman says:

And there’s the Eddy I know. That was colossally stupid. But jeez, he really shouldn’t be in the game

  61. 61
    david says:

We could use Lee’s ability on the boards — they are really working the offensive glass. ANd here he comes…

  62. 62
    david says:

Curry’s been really quite good, though. And I can’t believe I wrote that either…

  63. 63
    DRed says:

At least that gut Eddy on the bench.

  64. 64
    david says:

    And there’s Eddy. Jeez….

  65. 65
    Brian Cronin says:

Wow, what great D causing the 24 second violation!

  66. 66
    Z says:

Sometimes we are unrecognizable, even to ourselves…

  67. 67
    Brian Cronin says:

Lee really should have kicked it back out on that last offensive rebound.

  68. 68
    Robert Silverman says:

“Curry’s been really quite good, though. And I can’t believe I wrote that either…”

How has Curry been good? He’s 2-6 from the field, 50% from the line and a turnover machine?

  69. 69
    Z says:

Eddy’s game never shows up in box-score, Robert. It’s the intangibles he brings to the game. The energy. The basketball IQ.

    You just don’t get it.

  70. 70
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

all I can say is wow..I don’t wanna jinx the game b/c the C’s have absolutely killed us these past few years..but I am amazed at how efficient we are playing today..wow.

  71. 71
    Gorky says:

Lee! You need to kick it out to waste time in that situation!

  72. 72
    Robert Silverman says:

Thanks Z. I Forgot about that

  73. 73
    Brian Cronin says:

    Chandler’s basketball IQ…not so good.

  74. 74
    iserp says:

Well, eddy has drawn some important fouls…

  75. 75
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

dammitt..looks like i just jinxed us

  76. 76
    Z says:

Chandler is definitely trying to attack more.

Unfortunately, he’s just not very good at it.

  77. 77
    Brian Cronin says:

I take it back, he was smart enough not to make a dumb move there.

    Wait…is that a compliment really?

  78. 78
    DRed says:

Nice drive and dish inside by will

  79. 79
    Z says:

I get depressed when I see the MSG crowd doing the wave…

  80. 80
    Robert Silverman says:

    Damn.

  81. 81
    Brian Cronin says:

So, two seconds left to take a shot and your pass is to…David Lee behind the three point arc?

    Niiiice.

  82. 82
    DRed says:

Maybe they thought Lee was Gallo.

  83. 83
    Brian Cronin says:

That was one of the biggest make-up calls I have ever, ever seen.

  84. 84
    Robert Silverman says:

Wow. That’s the most egregious example of a “make up call” I think I’ve ever seen

  85. 85
    Robert Silverman says:

    …Great minds, Brian.

  86. 86
    Z says:

That just goes to show the refs can do anything they want, whenever they want.

  87. 87
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

    figures…

  88. 88
    Brian Cronin says:

Great, bring in Gallo cold with 17 seconds left.

  89. 89
    Kikuchiyo says:

    Hughes but not Nate?

  90. 90
    Z says:

I bet you Harrington shoots here.

  91. 91
  92. 92
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

    cmon Al…make these…

  93. 93
    Kikuchiyo says:

Bad play by the Celts: let Harrington score and he’d hang on the rim for a tech.

  94. 94
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

    let’s hope no one fouls

  95. 95
    Robert Silverman says:

I understand the logic of putting in Gallo cold. He spreads the floor much better than Chandy, esp. if the play you’re calling is an iso for Harrington

  96. 96
    DRed says:

    Can’t fault the effort today.

  97. 97
    Robert Silverman says:

    OT. Well done guys

  98. 98
    Robert Silverman says:

What was that play that Rivers called for Boston? Not that I’m complaining, but why in the name of Vishnu didn’t the ball go to Pierce?

  99. 99
    Z says:

    We rock in day games!

  100. 100
    Kikuchiyo says:

I don’t have MSG, just the Celtics network.

I have the distinct pleasure of listening to Tommy Heinsohn whine endlessly about “New York calls.” Someone shoot me.

  101. 101
    d-mar says:

Is it just me or do Perkins and Garnett constantly set illegal screens – they hold onto the guy they’re screening every time?

  102. 102
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

    all of a sudden, we can’t buy a bucket…

  103. 103
    Z says:

I bet Tommy Heinsohn liked that call.

  104. 104
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

yes d-mar..i’m seein tha same thing

  105. 105
    Robert Silverman says:

    Crap

  106. 106
    Z says:

We may be out of gas…

  107. 107
    Z says:

    Duhon has played 47 minutes…

  108. 108
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

I don’t understand y Hughes is still in the game when he’s missin everything..but Nate and Rooster aren’t in on offense

  109. 109
    Z says:

Hughes should be our starting point guard!

  110. 110
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

    nice..double OT anyone?

  111. 111
    Robert Silverman says:

Why did Perk rotate to Duhon there? Again, I’m not complaining, b/c it’s nice to see the other team botch a play on D from time to time.

  112. 112
    Z says:

I hope Rondo shoots a 20 footer at the buzzer again

  113. 113
    Owen says:

David Lee, can’t hit the last second shot…

  114. 114
  115. 115
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

    wha????????

  116. 116
    Brian Cronin says:

As he hit that game-winner, my opponent in fantasy football scored two separate touchdowns.

I am feeling great right now.

  117. 117
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

    …how??

  118. 118
    Owen says:

Crap. And a foul to give. Was that on Lee or Harrington defensively? Strong effort though, I felt proud of them today…

  119. 119
    Z says:

Well, the effort was there. If we compete like that every game, the Jazz may only end up with a late lottery pick.

  120. 120
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

we completely ran out of gas…thas the only reason I see for lettin the game slip away

  121. 121
    BigBlueAL says:

    Biggest problem with this team:

Most minutes played by a Knick Chris Duhon with 47 and this is what he did in all those minutes: 3 pts, 6 asts on 1-6 shooting from the field. Waste of minutes.

  122. 122
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

..well that and Nate & Gallo not playin in OT

  123. 123
    d-mar says:

I’ve got a big problem with the Knicks not using their foul to give at the end. They should have fouled Pierce as soon as he put the ball on the floor. What did D”Antoni tell them in the huddle?

  124. 124
    Z says:

Owen– Don’t blame Harrington. He was in perfect position for the rebound if KG missed the shot :)

  125. 125
    SeeWhyDee77 says:

I agree BigBlueAL.. Du played too many minutes and did next to nothing with the PT..while Nate & Rooster rode the pine late in the game..unbelievable

  126. 126
    BigBlueAL says:

I know this sounds very mean and cruel, but Im almost hoping for Duhon to get injured so D’Antoni cant freakin play him.

  127. 127
    Owen says:

“Eddy’s game never shows up in box-score, Robert. It’s the intangibles he brings to the game. The energy. The basketball IQ.

    You just don’t get it.”

What happened with the flagrant foul and Curry? Didn’t see it. Trautwig said it was a game-changer…

  128. 128
    Z says:

“Biggest problem with this team: Most minutes played by a Knick Chris Duhon with 47 and this is what he did in all those minutes: 3 pts, 6 asts on 1-6 shooting from the field. Waste of minutes.”

But he only had one turnover. And the Knicks looked good while he was out there. (He just didn’t need to be out there for that long!)

  129. 129
    BigBlueAL says:

D-Mar the reason I believe they didnt foul Pierce is because Chandler was covering him and he had 5 fouls.

  130. 130
    Z says:

Eddy missed a shot, thought he was fouled, and took it out on Rondo’s back, pushing him into the first row.

But it wasn’t really a game changer. There was a lot of time left, and Rondo missed one of the free throws.

The way it really changed the game was that it got Eddy on the bench, where he probably should have been in the first place.

  131. 131
    d-mar says:

“D-Mar the reason I believe they didnt foul Pierce is because Chandler was covering him and he had 5 fouls.”

I don’t know, I guess I’d rather see him foul out and take my chances in 2nd OT. Either way, it’s inexcusable that a guy has a wide open jumper to win the game.

But really, a strong effort, there’s not a lot to complain about.

  132. 132
    BigBlueAL says:

It really is a shame they lost on a horrible defensive stand on the final shot because for the most part they played excellent D the entire game holding the Celtics to 41.7 % for the game.

Hopefully they can win in Sacramento and avoid an 0-3 road trip.

  133. 133
    Robert Silverman says:

The key was in the beginning of the fourth when the Nix had a chance to extend the lead and didn’t. THat was the turning point

  134. 134
    Z says:

I’m glad I watched this game. It makes me more excited to go to the Lakers game on Tuesday (and not feel I’ve wasted $$ before it even starts).

  135. 135
    jon abbey says:

the real question is why didn’t this team play this hard for the first 10 games? they’re still way too undisciplined, regardless of talent level, but generally a nice effort today.

  136. 136
    jp says:

No one seems to mentionthat KG committed a blatant foul. He “set a pick” by grabbing Chandler with his extended hands. That’s 2 shots for chandler if it’s called right, isn’t it?

  137. 137
    jp says:

    On the last play!

  138. 138
    BK says:

Z, I think the game against the Lakers is going to be a lot uglier. The Celtics missed a lot of open shots today. Today’s effort was good (especially on the 2nd of a back to back), but the Lakers are a much better team with Gasol back. Hope you have fun though and that the game isn’t a 20+ point blowout.

  139. 139
    d-mar says:

“the real question is why didn’t this team play this hard for the first 10 games? ”

Amen. They played 6 out of their last 7 at home and won 1. And now 4 out of the next 5 teams they play are playoff and/or elite teams. They’ve dug a huge hole due to that stretch of putrid play that’s gonna be very hard to climb out of. It’s a shame because a lot of the East teams aren’t exactly tearing it up lately, so they could easily be in the mix.

  140. 140
    BigBlueAL says:

Just realized Knicks now 0-3 in OT. Considering they are 3-10, if they couldve won 2 of the 3 games that went into OT a 5-8 record wouldnt seem that bad at all.

  141. 141
    BK says:

AL, I want to see Duhon getting less minutes too, but I’m guessing that Nate had to get out of the coach’s doghouse first before earning his trust (plus it doesn’t help that Nate is atrocious on D). And he doesn’t trust Douglas enough to run the show on his own in limited minutes, which I do think there’s some justification for.

But by the end of this road trip, if Duhon is still getting 40+ minutes, I’m going to be incredibly annoyed. Let Hughes and Douglas play together if necessary for 15 to 20 minutes a game.

  142. 142
    BigBlueAL says:

What show does Duhon run, the Twilight Zone?? So many times in the 4th quarter he dribbled the ball for almost the entire shot clock and gave it up to someone who had to force a horrible shot. Hell at the end of OT Hughes was the player running the pnr with Lee not Duhon yet Duhon I believe was still in the game during that possession.

Nate annoys the crap out of me but at least he is a major threat on offense and hell he is fun to watch at times. Last year he actually played very good running the point when Duhon was out. I would love it if Nate and Douglas played all the PG minutes but I know barring an injury to Duhon that will never happen.

  143. 143
    Z says:

“Z, I think the game against the Lakers is going to be a lot uglier.”

Okay. Can I have my money back? Thanks.

“I want to see Duhon getting less minutes too, but I’m guessing that Nate had to get out of the coach’s doghouse first before earning his trust.”

Why not start Larry Hughes at PG? He can’t do worse than the Du, and Nate/Toney can play SG.

But D’Antoni is married to Duhon, for whatever reason, so I think we really do need an injury to make a better back court happen (addition by subtraction!)

The title of this article says it all, “Passing on Jennings could cost Knicks James”….

The title of this article says it all, “Passing on Jennings could cost Knicks James”….

Owen, I posted a couple of days ago how totally different the Knicks season would be right now if they had picked Jennings. And also how much more attractive we would be to FA’s. Every time I look at a Bucks box score, it just hurts, and he’s showing game after game that he’s no fluke. I guess we know how Dumars felt picking Darko over Anthony. Bosh and Wade – it’s the gift that keeps on giving.
