Well, it looks like no training camp or preseason this year. From a season ticket holder's perspective, it's not all bad, as those preseason tix were always a burden more than a benefit. But we are also on the verge of losing regular season games as well, which would truly suck. And the prospect of a shortened season, while obviously preferable to no season, doesn't thrill me either - remember those ugly back to back to back games in 1999?

It just doesn't feel like a breakthrough is anywhere close to happening. Enjoy hockey this winter!

That has a great ring to it!!

btw - interesting article about THCJ's favorite team, the Denver Nuggets. It sure does seem like something is amiss there, with pretty much all their RFAs and UFAs being noncommittal re: coming back there despite them setting the world on fire at the end of the regular season (before, oh right, going down in flames against the Thunder in round 1). It is sort of the opposite of players willing to take less to play with the Heatles or Celtics. Either Denver has a near-monopoly on guys who are essentially broke despite their multi-million dollar salaries and need the $ right now, or they're just not that excited to play on the Nuggets.

Frank: that WOULD be awesome, except of course everyone and their mother would sign with Miami. If that hard cap is $80M you can pretty much bank on Nene, Dalembert, or Deandre Jordan signing there.Nene/Bosh/Wade/Lebron + me could win a championship.

massive:
I actually read somewhere that the absolute hard cap could be around $80-85 million dollars. That would just be awesome, but I feel like there will be restrictions (i.e. a soft cap) before you actually reach that hard cap number of $80-85 million dollars.

meanwhile - is anyone else getting the feeling that CP3 --> NYK is actually going to happen? It feels as if there may be a hard/flex cap at $70-75MM or so which presumably will go up a few million/year based on league revenue. Even in 2014-15 Amare/Melo are only 46MM combined. Not sure if there will be a max salary if a hard cap is put in place, but it's looking as if our big 3 WILL be possible if CP3 wants it enough.
