Mavs-Spurs is entertaining as a throwback series. Neither team is going anywhere, but I can still root for the Spurs to get bounced! Being a Mavs fan would be depressing .. there’s a team that peaked, should have won it all if not for some shady-ass officiating, and is now on the downhill slope with a questionable future. Oh, and trading Harris for Kidd was mad stupid.

Blazers-Rockets is one of those series where I don’t know who to root for. I like the young Blaze, would also like to see Adelman’s Rockets finally take the next step.

Celts-Bulls way more entertaining than it should be. No KG in these playoffs is a real bummer. And Celts-Cavs would have been amazing.

The Magic just don’t have what it takes. Dwight Howard is an amazing player but I don’t think he has the drive to be a champion. When they say he’s too nice, I actually think that is meaningful in the playoff context. (It’s one thing to let Nate Robinson dunk over you in a contest to let him win .. which says wonderful things about Dwight’s character, and things you don’t really want to think about when tearing the opponent’s heart out is the order of the day). I think Dwight is the new David Robinson. Different game, but he’s just not cold-hearted enough to carry a team all by himself. Not into the Magic’s supporting cast *at all*.

Nugs-Hornets is also pretty interesting, because WTF is up with the Hornets? I want to like CP3 after he carried my fantasy team to victory, but why am I getting Shades of Marbury watching him in this series? A guy who razzles and dazzles and puts up the big numbers and reminds people of Isiah .. but his teammates seem to dislike him, play with zero togetherness, and if he can’t win in the playoffs… CP3 also is a major flopper/complainer, and that shit is hard to get behind.

Lakers and Cavs series are dead boring. Hawks-Heat = two teams I hate watching.

Not the best matchups of all time first rounds, but some surprisingly exciting games in there.

Having league pass all year, and not being able to watch game 2 now, feels very wrong….

So you don’t get NBA TV either where you are? It drives me crazy that most cable systems in my area carry NFL, MLB, NHL even Golf and Tennis Channels as part of their basic sports tier. But no NBA TV.

I had a little lull in work after paying taxes, and have (scarily) watched every playoff game so far (though my attention wavered heavily during the routs). Celtics-Bulls is definitely the best series, though with Mutomobo hurt, Rockets-Blazers just got more interesting.

I am most jealous of all the good point guards stepping it up in the playoffs, and am really hoping we can get ourselves one in this upcoming draft…

My thought would be that it is ridiculous they aren’t televising the rockets-blazers….

Powe is out for the rest of the playoffs with a torn ligament in his knee. This is a huge loss for Boston already struggling without KG.

Sounds like a great opportunity for Walsh to take a flyer on someone like Nick Calathes. I’ve seen him play maybe a couple of times – plays under control, has an efficient game, great shooter.

I know Kevin Garnett is intense and everything, but does every word out of his mouth have to be f–k? That whole Celtics team bothers me, way too much screaming and chest pounding after big plays, does any other team in the NBA do that? I guess that’s why they lead the league in techs. Can’t wait to see them bounced from the playoffs.

I think Noah’s already at a Dalembert level with much more room to grow. That’s pretty desirable. Big baby looks pretty good out there. He’s probably no more than a 6th man because of his size, but he has a nice shot. I just like Powe’s good all around game: toughness, rebounding, scoring. If he works on his post moves, he could get a nice contract somewhere.
I’m still willing to see what kind of jump Lee makes this offseason. I think instead of shooting threes, he should focus on learning coach’s D rotations to perfection, keep working on the 15 foot jumper, and work on some post moves. Also do some strength training. These are realistic goals. I’d like for him to definitively be a power forward, maybe start next to Curry next year.
I agree that Miller is awful, but I’d still rather be giving him 15 minutes a game than Harrington 30 minutes a game… I know we had to get rid of Craw’s contract, but I really don’t want to watch another year of him!
I’m warming up to the idea of losing Nate and going after Sessions. The Bucks don’t have much $$ so maybe we could get him for $6 mil? Then draft Evans and we could at least have a competitive backcourt going forward. Of course if we get Rubio at #2, that changes that plan. It also sounds like a lot of draft picks will be for sale after the top 20, so if we see a player we like down there we could go after them. Should be an interesting off-season.

Brad Miller was awful in game 1 and pretty good today, he helps sometimes but he’s one of my least favorite players in the league.

Rondo’s line/game was even more impressive by the fact that he badly sprained his ankle about halfway through the game.

Noah is still quite flawed, he’s about as good at finishing layups as Jared Jeffries, and he left Davis wide open from 20 feet the whole game even after he made shot after shot. he also got abused by Perkins quite a bit, who got a ton of huge offensive rebounds. he is a good shot blocker, though.

Fantastic line from Rondo also. 12 rebounds, 16 assists, 5 steals, two turnovers. Sorry I missed it.

Brad Miller makes a big difference to the Bulls I think.

And that Noah for Lee trade KB was mulling over isn’t happening anymore, he looks too good these days….

I just checked box score since I was curious. Ben Gordon besides his 42 points, had 1 reb, 0 ast and 1 stl. Looks like an old Allan Houston line, although he wouldve probably had 2 asts.
