Thomas B, he wasn't "acknowledging that Lin has a race", he was refusing to accept his accomplishments because of Lin's race. as massive said, Lin scored the most four points EVER BY ANYONE in his first four NBA starts, blowing away the previous leaders in Iverson, Shaq and Jordan. that's big news if it's done by Joe Smith from Compton for Sacramento.

so that's racist, not that I especially care, but it's just as ignorant as Ashton Kutcher complaining on Twitter about Joe Paterno being fired because of football reasons (he somehow thought).

Thomas B.: I did not think Mayweather’s comments were racisit. It is not racist to acknowledge that a person has or race. Nor is it racist to offer that a person may get some percieved advantage from others based on race.Mayweather seems to think that part of the Lin sensation is that he is a Asian-American player.I think that is true.A bigger part of it is the out of nowhere undrafted twice waived little player that could. When Brandon Jennings dropped 50 as a rookie people made a big deal, but if Brandon Jennings was an undrafted 2nd year player rather than a top 10 pick, they would have made a bigger deal.

The media making a big deal about Lin because he isnt like the other players is no different than the media loving Earl Boykins and Mugsy Bouges. The guys that defy the mould we have come to expect. So i do not fully agree with Mayweather for saying that Lin is getting more attention due to his Asian-American background. There are a host of contributing factors, not the least of which is the fact that he plays in NYC.

But I do not think Mayweather’s tweets are racist.

I found Mayweather's tweets to be SUPER racist. He was saying the equivalent of "Why isn't there a WHITE history month?"

His tweets weren't necessarily racist, but they were misinformed and come across as ignorant. No basketball player has averaged 25 and 8 in their first four starts, leading their team to four straight victories. The guy was cut from 2 teams prior, was almost cut again for JR Smith, almost traded for Anthony Carter, and quite possibly saved Mike D'Antoni's job. He also revitalized an entire fanbase's outlook on the team's current and future direction. So while a significant part of the Jeremy Lin hype train is due to him being an Asian-American, he's also well deserving of the hype.

So while he did not say these things about Lin, he has said some pretty awful, racist stuff. His Lin comments have been, while fairly racist, much tamer.

I am impressed with myself that I spelled Pacquiao correctly without checking.

Was the first Jared Jeffries dunk last week off that P&R?

I guess the jorts thing depends on if he can hit open 3's. if he can, he covers a little of what Novak brings, plus skills novak does not.

I wouldn't mind seeing novak get minutes at the 3 when jorts gets back...so your 4 guys off the bench would be shump, novak, jeffries and jorts. but, if novak plays the 3, you need chandler in the game for when guys drive by him.

I don't see a reason why when you are at full health, novak or jorts would get more than 15 mins in a game, and jeffries 25.

Novak vs Gallo....not worth the discussion. Novak don't speak Italian, nor does he have a cool mole on his face. Gallo boosts the linguistic percentages and mole ratios.

I was really impressed with Jorts. My only concern with Jorts is that with Jeffries playing well and Novak establishing himself, where does Jorts get his minutes? More rest for Chandler?

This is just completely off the top of my head so if it turns out to be realistically impossible for this lineup to be on the floor for extended periods of time, I get it.
How great would a Lin, Shump, Novak, Jeffries, Jorts lineup be during games where Stat and Chandler are in foul trouble or we need to rest the stars in the middle of 3 games in 4 days stretches.
Lin and Jeffries PnR, Shump slashing and Novak and Jorts knocking down kick-out threes.
Again, I don't know how likely that lineup is going forward, but Stat and Chandler do get in foul trouble at the same time sometimes and Melo can't play 48 minutes a game.
