Donnie Walsh Speaks!

Donnie Walsh had a “town forum” with Knicks season ticket holders.

Here, courtesy of NYKnicks.com, is video from that event (you may have to click on the piece to see the embedded video)…

Thanks to TDM for the heads up!

And thanks to Alah Hahn’s awesome Knicks blog on Newsday.com.

Also on NYKnicks.com, there was this fairly interesting interview with David Lee.

NYKnicks.com: Right after D’Antoni got hired, did you talk to any of your teammates about what to expect?

Lee: Well, when we ran into each other of course it’s going to come up, but the key is that we are all on the same page in that we are excited about it and what we can all do together. From the outside looking in, everyone says it’s got to be fun to play that kind of style of play. I don’t know too many basketball players who don’t enjoy getting up and down the court and fast-breaking. Now, I know it takes a high level of commitment to be in shape, and that’s why I’ve been working as hard as I have this summer. But it’s a fun system.

Seems to me that the theory that “if they Knicks don’t value their own players, then the rest of the league won’t either” conflicts with the theory that Balkman “was not going to play. And when that happens, a players value declines”.

Not valuing Randolph is bad, but not valuing Balkman is good?

On the Knicks.com page there is a T-Mobile poll that caught my eye.

Which jersey are you most likely to wear to a game?
    Jamal Crawford
    Nate Robinson
    David Lee
    Danilo Gallinari
    Eddy Curry
    Zach Randolph

For the fun of it I entered Zach Randolph. The results weren’t too surprising.

Notice that Newsday says the rumored deal was Z-BO AND a #1 pick to the Clips for nothing. Which is still a deal I may have made if I were Donnie, but he didn’t blow the opporunity of a lifetime to unload just Z-Bo and no pick for nothing like some of you jerkfaces were suggesting.

That said, I kinda like the idea that Donnie is standing tall with regards to Zach. If D’Antoni finds a miraculous way to get these fools to win esp. when the whole world’s expectations are nil, our players could gain some respect (and higher trade values) in a hurry. Donnie will have a hard enough time bargaining in the future even w/o losing his cool so it’s important that he acts like he has everything under control.

I have to say, I’m a little surprised that more people would wear Craw over Lee by a solid margin. Is Craw really that popular in NY?

On another note, the Knicks are moving their training camp to Skidmore. That’s right, Skidmore.

So many jokes my head may explode . . .

Hmm, Skidmore you say? I suppose now it’s probably time to shake a little puddle of pepto-bismol into my scotch at night.

I still say the verdict, though as yet undecided, is not looking well for Walsh, and these comments to nothing to change that.

  7. Skidmore College

Skidmore College is a private, liberal arts college located in Saratoga Springs, New York, United States. The college currently enrolls approximately 2,500 students and offers B.A. and B.S. degrees in more than 60 areas of study. Skidmore received 7450 applications in 2007–08 for the class of 2012, admitting 28% of its applicants. The median SAT score was 1320 and ACT score was 30. In 2006, Newsweek/Kaplan identified Skidmore as one of 25 ‘New Ivies,’ an elite school providing an excellent education outside of the Ivy League.[2] Since 2007, Skidmore has decided not to participate in U.S. News & World Report rankings.

    Dear Mr. College:

I noticed your Wikipedia cut-and-paste job failed to mention the esteemed status of Skidmore on Princeton Review’s reefer madness list – 1st place in 2003! Sadly, Skidmore has fallen on hard times and only rated 11th in 2007. Perhaps you should make it your personal crusade to regain the glory of ’03′.

    It might relax you.

Ah the embedded video, boon to the illiterate and the lazy journalist alike.

TDM, I noticed you have an evil twin who seems to be your opposite-MDT. He isn’t funny, his posts make no sense, and he lacks an interesting avatar.

I wonder if he has a cheesy goatee like Garthe Knight.

    I may have found a new avatar….

p.s. BC I was just kidding when I called you a “lazy journalist.” I’ve never actually considered you to be a journalist. Rim shot. Thank you, thank you. I’ll be here all week. Tip your waitress. Try the veal.
