Greetings,
I am a 35 year old with twin boys. I grew up watching/playing baseball and hockey (NYRangers Boston Red Sox) but just never got into basketball. But as my sons get older, I am sure they will take an interest in it as it's a very popular sport around us. I have tried watching a few Knicks games this year to see if I could 'get into it'. The game wasn't overly difficult to follow but I found a lot of the terminolgy and abbreviations confusing. Would anyone have any suggestions as to how to learn more about the game, what all the stats/terms/abbreviations mean, etc?

Thanks for your time,
Chaim

I think he's improved a bit, but still has a long way to go. His shot selection is better generally, but he has games where he reverts to his old habits.

Actually the Memphis piece in the NY Sun earlier this week was going to be a piece on the new and somewhat improved Jamal Crawford, but then came that 5-17 stinker over the weekend and it looked like the chuck n duck version of Crawford was back.

I think he's certainly starting to improve from last season (not that that's saying much). He's taking 4.5 less shots per game (4.4 less 3s). His field-goal% is much improved at .433 (although his eFG% is understandably down), and he is getting as many points per shot as Channing Frye. While he may not be Ron Artest, he's putting in some effort on the defensive end. The early season was a bit rocky for the entire team, but Crawford's had two very impressive games back-to-back. Of course, two games are not 82 games.

His game itself is no better than it was. He's always been immensely talented. His decision making (or is it fear of the wrath of Larry?) has improved monumentally, I'd say, simply by his increased FT attempts and his hesitation to jack up fadeaway threes.
