Jackson would've been a bad hire. The team mirrors Jackson. The players on the roster are perfect for his slow, plodding, lethargic offensive style. Fastbreak and Jax were antonymns. After all Doc Rivers, Derek Harper and dare I say Charlie Ward and Chris Childs seemed to play much faster than Jackson. The team was indifferent on defense, the same approach Jax took.

Moreover, he's a terrible analyst on ABC.

David West hardly played as a 23 and 24 year old (less than 20 minutes per) so its hard to say how much he would have developed with DLee-type playing time. Once he got Lee-type minutes, his PER was consistently around 18-19. Lee showed little progress this past year compared to 2006-2007 and actually regressed in some areas, notably blocking shots, geting his own shot blocked, and man-defense. His perimeter shooting when left wide open is erratic at best (stats on this aspect of his game are as misleading as Zach's 20 and 10 stats) and he is often virtually dared to shoot by defenders who lay off of him. His offensive moves are mechanical and predictable, and IMO will always be, keeping him from ever being a top-notch PF in this league. I would consider trading him while he is still coveted before his next contract makes him less of an asset than he is at his current salary.

"it wasn’t just the points, Ted. 14 boards, blocks, 5 assists, helping force Duncan into a 5 for 18."

The overall effort was exceptional, but I think it's a little much to say that almost no one else could have done it. I can think of dozens of NBA players who could explode for one game like that in the playoffs. West has looked good, if inconsistent, this postseason, and he's really solidified his status as an All-Star level player.

The fact that West scored only 12 pts/36 minutes as a 24 year old (in only 30 games) seems to bode pretty well for David Lee. West's worked really hard to improve his game, but it's a bit of a coincidence that Chris Paul's arrival in 05-06 coincides with West's scoring numbers jumping from 10 and 12 pts/36 in his first two seasons to 17 pts/36 in his third...

BTW, haven't checked all the posts, but did anyone see Lee saying he's working out with Steve Nash this offseason and D'Antoni is perfect for what the Knicks are trying to do?

Doug Collins is driving me insane with his discussion of how many points Kobe scores on his shots. Just absolutely batty. Doesn't make any mention of free throw shooting.

That was a great game, Utah had a very good chance to win. It's been amazing how many road teams have blown great opportunities to win, (Orlando Magic I am looking at you).

The Lakers will have a good shot to win a title this year. But they are going to be downright scary next year with a starting lineup including Bynum, Gasol, Odom, and Bryant. If Bynum comes back playing like he did this year, and if Ariza gets healthy, you have to think they have 65-70 win potential...

Michael Dantoni = Malice Nation

Don't know quite what that means though...

Rondo is having a tremendous game. Lebron is having his best scoring night, but no boards, and only one more assist than turnovers. Some defense those Celtics have.

The home team will be 19-1 if they can hold on...
