as for the Knicks, I’m sure they will be “galvanized” by keeping everyone together and will go on a run, if only just to spite us, because that’s what the Knicks experience is all about.

yes, spitefulness and vindictiveness do seem to play an integral role in being a knick fan…also, seems to play a fairly significant role, at times, here on this site as well…

    oh well – go knicks!?!?!?

  2. Philmelo

Hezonja had a terrific half. I guess Portland will suffer badly from Lillard/McCullum “defense.”

  3. thenoblefacehumper

Now that I can’t even be excited about various mediocre players improving their trade value, Pelicans-Rockets it is

  4. GoNyGoNyGo

Willy is getting crushed on the boards by TT.

@7 – Worse, he’s getting outworked. I’m glad Horney pulled him.

  5. Philmelo

Melo doesn’t have a lift anymore. Even when he beats his guy clean to the basket wide open he can’t finish strong.

  6. Philmelo

KP is clearly our best defender. He handled Lebron as well has you could ask in the halfcourt defense.

  7. Kahnzy

TNT really should have changed their game from this who-gives-a-shit affair to the Rockets/Pelicans game. ESPN does it, why won’t TNT?

  8. Bruno Almeida

KP is looking good, Melo and Rose still fucking suck, and I’m looking at the box score because Rockets vs Pelicans is way more interesting.

  9. Philmelo

KP’s defense is really tight. I am beginning to wonder if he is suffering from fatigue because he tends to own games like these where he comes back after hiatus.

  10. ClashFan

Rose is some kinda special bad on defense. He’s unearthly.

Yeah, KP really needs to stop those 3s.

  11. Silky Johnson, Fleet Admiral of the Tank Armada

23 more games of garbage Derrick Rose to watch

He might be my least favorite player in the NBA

  12. Philmelo

Yeah, KP really needs to stop those 3s.

I remain confident he will once he’s in an offense that regularly shares the ball.

  13. Philmelo

Charles Oakley’s lawyer, Frederick Nance, says Oakley came to the Knicks-Cavs game tonight as his guest. “When the Cavs learned we were coming, Dan Gilbert invited us to sit with him,” Nance said in a text message.

  14. KJG

These guys don’t give a dick about each other. It’s an awful team with awful cohesion and awful leadership. I think a lot of these guys wished they were moved.

  15. Bruno Almeida

I hate Rose, but for me his game is way more entertaining from a pure spectator standpoint than Melo jab stepping 10 times and shooting.

my least favorite player to watch is definitely Brook Lopez tho, I have no idea why but I hate everything about his game.

Yeah but how about you wait until they have a few seasons together to cohere and cohese and become synergy

  17. KJG

This whole team .. literally top to bottom. Training staff…coaches. players most of all. Not one plays the right way except Lance Thomas and he ain’t any good. We need to give this Shit up. Can we start a new site. What / who could we root for. ?

  18. Bruno Almeida

well, if KP has a serious injury this will literally be my most hated Knick season in a lot of years.

  19. Philmelo

These guys don’t give a dick about each other. It’s an awful team with awful cohesion and awful leadership. I think a lot of these guys wished they were moved.

That’s what happens when you’re continually putting together a new team together every fucking season – which what we’ve been doing since the Melo trade. I so missed those Walsh teams. They weren’t the most talented but they played together and liked playing together for years.

  20. Bruno Almeida

    @49

he left for the locker room and the announcers cited “knee”…

edit: Begley reports it’s a sprained right ankle, questionable to return.

  21. Bruno Almeida

Chris Smith is at the game with a “I’m with Oakley” t-shirt… this is the most random piece of news I’ve seen today.

  22. Cock Jowles, #1 Pythag. Wins Denialist

walking gingerly to the locker room, probably a minor sprain, didn’t really seem bad

  23. Philmelo

Now Phil has an excuse to sit KP down for a week while we play lesser competition. More Lance Thomas/Kuz should help our tank. We are a contender for the Futile Five!

  24. Bruno Almeida

Rose is 2/8 with one assist.

I’m kinda happy he’s still a Knick. For now, until the extension comes up.

  25. Cock Jowles, #1 Pythag. Wins Denialist

    15 pts, 20 FGA, 3 turnovers.

That, my friends, is a beautiful half of basketball by our tank commanders.

  26. KJG

What’s really bugging me right meow is my daily fantasy squad just took a hit from KP getting the ankle… and my regular fantasy squad takes a hit too. On top of that, I was only a few games away of going all in on the sixers… and then they make their moves and I’m disgusted. Embiid and Saric and Noel are tight and Colangelo went and fucked that up… I gotta guy with the Sixer staff and he says today was a pretty shitty day for them. So now what the fuck

  27. JK47

Charlotte has looked like a formidable tank opponent lately but they are fucking up and winning right now, so that is nice. Sadly the Magic have collapsed and are headed for a valuable loss. But that means our tank competitors Portland will get a damaging win!

  28. Bruno Almeida

I saw a reporter who talked with Embiid KJG, and he said something along the lines of the Sixers should have given Noel more time on the court and given them a chance to grow together, but it’s a business and he knows it.

    Colangelo, y’all!

  29. JK47

After tonight’s loss the Knicks will be tied in the tank standings with Dallas for 7th, a mere half game behind Minnesota for 6th. We’re getting into Isaac/Ntilikina territory.

  30. Philmelo

Willy has a shitty shooting and rebounding night but he has 2 blocks and 4 assists to 1 turnover with out best +/-.

  31. Philmelo

    We’re getting into Isaac/Ntilikina territory.

We’re already in Ntilikina territory according to some mocks. Now its getting to Isaac/Taytum (yuck) land.

  32. DRed

Philly gave away one of the best young big men in the NBA for Justin Anderson and whats likely to be 2 second round picks. That is astonishingly awful.

It’s amazing how much credit Lance Thomas has gotten the past couple of years from the media almost entirely based on his ability to give a shit. It IS good that he does it, but it’s so funny that “professionalism” is such a rare thing in the NBA.

  34. Bruno Almeida

    @70

well, it’s the Knicks Brian, where we get excited by Baker simply giving a fuck while being terrible.

I don’t think there’s an NBA team where players consistently do not give a fuck like the Knicks, maybe Sacramento Knicks West and that’s it.

  35. Bruno Almeida

the Cavs got this, don’t worry.

in other not so surprising news, the Pelicans are still miles away from the Rockets or any good team in the west.

  36. Philmelo

Jrue Holiday not looking like a 20 million dollar player.

And yet people think Rubio for 12 million a year is too much.

  37. Philmelo

Without Willy and KP on the floor this team is murder to watch.

Melo’s physical skill have eroded so bad he can’t finish after blowing past his opponent.

  38. ClashFan

And yet another Melo let the clock run down and miss a contested jump shot end of quarter.

He pretty much has mastered that art.

  39. ClashFan

Lee: 8/11, 6 rebounds, 3 assists. Maybe he should get the flu more often. Or, maybe it is the new haircut?

  40. Bruno Almeida

    @87
it’s the positive effect of the zen master’s unwavering confidence in his ability to help the Knicks.

I’m scared of this game, I hope Miller is right and the Cavs are just toying a bit with the Knicks.

  41. Philmelo

If Willy works on that 3 point shot and keeps lifting to get stronger and he’ll be a super efficient player.

  42. Philmelo

Rose looks like pure trash out there. He seems upset about not being traded. Good.

I am willing to bet that he’s the type to get pouty and quit the more unhappy he is.

  43. ClashFan

    @90
I wouldn’t doubt it. But, he’s also playing for his next contract, so he at least has incentive to score pointz.

  44. Philmelo

    @91

Oh, he’ll try. He’ll at least make the effort to come to practice and play every game. But he doesn’t strike me as the type who will thrive under adverse conditions the way Melo can.

  45. Philmelo

Had Rubio come to play with the Knicks we’d have done way better. I am so happy he wasn’t traded to us.

  46. Frank

I actually think there’s a reasonable shot at the 4 or 5 spot in the lottery. We’re not catching the Lakers or Nets but pretty much every other team ahead of us has gotten better, has been playing a lot better, or seems unlikely to tank – Dallas, Orlando, Philly, Minnesota, could all easily pass us.

Trouble is- most of this “great” draft class outside Ball and Fultz seem to have pretty big holes in their games. Dennis Smith sounds like Steve Francis, Fox can’t shoot, Monk is a gunner, Ntilikina is a total unknown, and Tatum/Jackson seem a bit too Melo-like.

    Um, Isaac?

  48. Philmelo

Another double-double for Cole Aldrich 2.0.

11 points on 4/9 shooting, 10 rebounds, 4/1 assist to turnover ratio, and 2 blocked shots in 27 minutes of play.

  49. Philmelo

Malone is an interesting guy to work with KP in the offseason. He’s great scoring PF, who even before Dirk, developed a post up fadeaway as a go to move in the elbow.

  50. Cock Jowles, #1 Pythag. Wins Denialist

ahahahaha is anyone else watching the Warriors game?

Draymond, on-court microphones, to Paul Pierce: “You ain’t getting no farewell tour. They don’t love you like that. You thought you was Kobe?”

  51. geo

just ending the 3rd qtr…I had no idea rose was so into the whole eye rolling thing…

i’ve seen it before – but, the camera had a real good shot of his face…as he rolled his eyes at a couple of his “teammates”…

wow phil – you were really okay with this guy on the team…

    lance, willy – anti roses…antiroses…

  52. geo

seems like a good time to let kp go hit the gym for about 10 games or so…let him play again the last couple of weeks…

  53. Bruno Almeida

dude, WCS is legit, he’s dominating Jokic so far.

Skal Labissiere had some nice minutes too and so did Steph Hield

  54. Philmelo

Its amazing that Cauley Stein was on a bench languishing for almost two years not given a chance to succeed. It goes to show how playing with certain players can jam up a young player’s development. Let that serve as a reminder to people who shit on KP during this mess of a season playing with teammates who look him off on PnRs and in the paint.

  55. Bruno Almeida

Ben McLemore also quietly has a .600 ts% in february… the Kings so far have been very entertaining to watch.

  56. thenoblefacehumper

I’ve been switching back and forth between the Kings-Nuggets and Clippers-Warriors games, somehow they’ve been about equally as entertaining for the most part.

  57. Philmelo

The future of this game is about pushing the tempo, passing the ball around a perimeter to stretch a defense until it breaks, off the ball movement. So basically we’re the anti-thesis of the future despite having some personnel that would fit this vision.

  58. Philmelo

LOL Doc Rivers’ face after Steph hit that 3 and celebrated in front of him was priceless. He was like, “Are you calling that?”

  59. Accidentank 2017

LeBron is gonna go bald in the NBA Finals if Golden State stays healthy. They are going to flat out embarrass Cleveland.

  60. Philmelo

This is a great game for us. Every game the Warriors embarrass the Clippers is a game where they are reminded they need extra help to contend for a title. Melo and Lee end up looking better and better.

  61. Philmelo

Marc Berman of the New York Post explains where it went wrong:

According to NBA sources, some members of the Timberwolves organization were against dealing for Rose because his playing style could hurt the growth of young studs Andrew Wiggins and Karl-Anthony Towns.

  62. Accidentank 2017

I sincerely hope we end up trading for Ricky Rubio and using the rest of the cap space on Tyreke Evans.

  63. Philmelo

I sincerely hope we end up trading for Ricky Rubio and using the rest of the cap space on Tyreke Evans.

Hell no. Its Lonzo Ball all the way!

  64. Accidentank 2017

Jonathan Isaac needs to be the target. If we get lucky and convince Cleveland they need to give us Love for Melo, maybe we can flip him to Phoenix for their 1st round pick. Other than that, we ain’t sinking so low that we’ll get our hands on Lonzo Ball.

  65. Philmelo

Oh, I think we can sink real low. We’re currently tied for 9th worse record with the Pelicans. KP could be out for over a week. If we lose some big games vs. the Magic (2 games behind us) and Sixers (1 game behind us) we could really sink to the bottom of the pack.
