[ – New York Knicks] Melo lifts Knicks in Celtics rematch (Fri, 25 Jan 2013 01:11:27 EDT) BOSTON — Carmelo Anthony didn’t shoot any icy stares toward Kevin Garnett on Thursday night. He didn’t hurl any obscenities his way. And no, Anthony didn’t feel the need to find Garnett after the final buzzer sounded. He let his play do the talking. And what he did on the floor said plenty about Anthony, and about the New York Knicks. Anthony scored a game-high 28 points, pulled down nine rebounds and played the role of distributor and decoy to perfection for the …continue reading

The Cereal Bowl: Knicks 89, Celtics 86

Prologue: In Which Our Hero Suffers an Affront to His Honor and the Surreal becomes Commonplace So it’s January 7th and you’re sitting in your living room waiting for the Knicks/Celtics game to start and all of a sudden tires screech and a horn honks and you step outside and there’s Doc Brown in the DeLorean and he’s telling you that you have to go back…back to the future.  Apparently something about a Notre Dame linebacker and a Twitter account and a presidential inauguration and a singer and a scandal and it doesn’t make a lot of sense but he’s …continue reading

At The Classical: L’Affaire Honey Nut Cheerios and Incarcerated Bob

So I got a chance to speak with Incarcerated Bob, a somewhat reviled/worshipped/notorious/lordly presence on the Twitter who was the source of KG’s infamous barb regarding ‘Melo’s missus and sugary breakfast comestibles:   Which brings us—or, really, brings Bob—to the Honey Nut Cheerios/Melo incident. For one thing, Bob is still thinking about it. “Black Sports Online stole it,” he fumes. “You can print that. They definitely stole my shit. [Black Sports Online writer Robert Littal] seemed like a stand up guy, but whatever.” (The original Black Sports Online report doesn’t credit Bob’s tweet, and claims to have confirmed the claim—itself presented …continue reading

JR Smith and Kris Humphries Talk Some Trash

JR Smith has always been one of the more popular players in the New York Knicks camp for his very “eccentric” way of going about his problems. As many athletes have taken to Twitter to voice their opinion, in the basketball world JR Smith has got to be one of the more popularly followed trash talkers of the recent year. Today was no different for the eight-year veteran fired verbal shots at forward Kris Humphries, in what was one of the funniest tweets of the new year. Humphries had no response. The Knicks lost to the Brooklyn Nets, 88-85, but …continue reading
