Tyson’s getting an MRI tomorrow. On his neck.
What a nightmare.

our main man Will the Thrill is at 27 and 7 with 10 minutes to go against the bulls
my cable is out, possibly for the best for my night.
Shump Shump. Someone has to say it.
maybe it’s just ESPN that’s down? anyone else having problems there?
Kurt Thomas, Carmelo Anthony, Tyson Chandler, Amar’e Stoudamire, Rasheed Wallace. Pour some out.
Team may need to cut someone just to get another healthy front court body for the next ten games.
Good news is that Melo’s fluid drain came from the insertion of the hamstring, not the knee itself. That is an injury that can probably be handled with shaving a tendon to deal with fraying. I say this with the vast medical knowledge I gained in law school. LOL.
Really a joke how the NBA analysts are piling on the Knicks right now, just heard Brent Barry say that no one should be surprised that the Knicks have injury woes given the age of their roster.
Uh, Brent the average age of the 3 players who are out is 30.
just another game between two playoff teams where Wilson Chandler and Nate Robinson are by far the top scorers.
Chandler/Robinson 62, the rest of both teams 148 (going to OT).
and chand;er has such a nice all around game. he can play serious minutes on a championship team
Oh no! Brian_Cronin apparently is a fan of HBO’s “Girls”. I’m hate-reading all the comments on Onion’s AV review, and he’s all over it.
Sorry but I’ll be rooting for the Jazz tonight. He has to learn.
erverytime nate hits a shot, the bulls announcer excalims that nate has “the nerves of a cat burglar”. that sounds like a good thing, although im not sure it really applies to nate
What was the starting lineup? I just tuned in.
It was close, but that was a goaltend on Noah, despite Thibodeau looking like he was going to burst multiple blood vessels
felton, prigs, cope, shump, martin. AKA “The Fab 5″
yeah. the announcers kept focusing about it being outside the cylinder, but thats not the issue. it had not hit the rim yet and was above the rim, headed towards the hoop. if the defense interefered it would have been goaltending, so obviously the offense can touch it either
If Prigioni has a good game, shall we call him “the Pope”?
Fine by me. Kidd better off the bench. Thomas cannot start since he needs to relieve Martin. And Utah is short enough that we can do the 3 guard lineup.
In the meantime, I just marveled at something Copeland just did. Prigs was losing his man around a screen from Copeland’s guy and, while keeping his eyes about him, Copeland straightened up his stance and reached his arms to the sky which allowed Prigs just enough clearance to run between Copeland and the guy who set the pick.
I’d love to see more of that.
It really is remarkable how many open jumpers the Knicks allow on D.
it was hilarious how Stacy King (CHI announcer) had zero understanding of this rule.
This game has all the earmarks of another hang around, have one bad stretch, lose by 15 effort.
League pass Homervision!!! I love it
can we get Herb a uniform?
someone put kidd’s shot out of its misery, please
novak….that was the worst breakaway layup attempt that I have ever seen
novak in the open floor!
Really is a shame the Knicks dont have either Chandler or Melo tonight, the Jazz are playing so bad right now the Knicks would kill them if they just one of them were healthy just like they did prior to this road trip.
we just let marvin williams dunk on us. this may be a new low
We just need decent games from Felton and JR. Not good, just decent. Oh, and not put up an 0/8 from 3 pt line performance in any given quarter. While it sounds like I am poking fun at our offensive mediocrity, I am being totally serious that this bare minimum is sufficient to give us the W. Why?
Because our defense is good enough to secure it.
Well… We’ve actually found an NBA team substantially worse at the point than the knicks!
Horrible end to the half. Just like in Portland.
woodson is an idiot. only he would be so in love with iso basketball that he would decide that our strategy should be to run isos for chris copeland. how about a pick and roll?? how about felton penetrate and kick the ball out?
Jazz play good for 2 of the 24 1st half mins and still lead at the half.
Agree, running the offense through Copeland is ridiculous (although the Jazz actually double teamed him once, upping the dumbness ante)
yeah, that was pretty unbelievable. it was a double late in the shot clock though (and i think they were doubling off of Kurt)
Jazz tightened up on the Knicks’ ball movement. They’ve cut off at least two backdoor passes and stepped into passing lanes several more times when Felton and JR dribbled into trouble.
Besides, we’ve had a buttload of open shots created by picks and have pretty much missed all of them.
But I was critical of the episode!
King definitely has some charisma, but wow, he is soooo dumb.
Pretty much.
i can only assume that this espn game is setting some sort of TV ratings record tonight
Ha! Right? What a weird situation with MSG.
By the way, I used to think Nate McMillan was the worst X and O’s coach in the NBA, but boy, Ty Corbin gives him a run for his money.
What is wrong with MSG??
The Knicks would have a much bigger lead if White were playing instead of Cope….
I am getting restless that Felton hasn’t scored since the 1st half and that JR’s basically been benched because he’s been so bad offensively/defensively.
Every time the Knicks start to establish some sort of a lead they allow wide open Jazz 3pters.
I mean dont the Knicks realize the easiest way to blow a freaking lead is allowing 3pters???
Correction: What I meant to say was, “Felton hasn’t scored since the 1st quarter.”
It’s blacked out a lot of places. I dunno why.
I’ve never seen a shot hit the shot clock and actually fall back into the basket.
I like that Cope has some offensive skills because he has no other skills.
is anyone else sick of the jr/ starks comparison?? not even close
XD
Happy to see JR realize he’s easily got more hoop skills than anyone else on the floor and so he should just take it to the rim and beat em at the line. Very Melo-esque attitude and encouraging. Plus, he’s played much fewer minutes than most on the floor so he’s got much fresher legs to take advantage of.
Nice little run here. They really have to rely on JR if they are going to have any chance at winning.
What an awesome block by Martin!!!
Yeah, exactly. He has to be the focal point of the offense if they’re going to have a chance.
kurt thpmas just blew my mind with that block on jefferson
Mo Williams had a Felton-esque player earlier when they had a fresh 24 and he decided to take a step-back 15-footer with 22 seconds left on the clock.
famous last words
JR is realizing that these people can’t guard him if he takes it strong to the hoop.
Favors is like the anti-Cope. He has zero offensive skills.
This would be a huge win if they could somehow pull it out.
They’d be the only Eastern Conference playoff team to beat a Western Conference team tonight.
Oh, Cope…
Why do I feel like heartbreak is inevitable?
And Cope rewards your observation with the TO to end the quarter
Kurt Thomas with the classic Magic Johnson fake pass into a pull-up jumper! Mah negro.
damn it. i didnt want to see novak anymore tonight
Sixers beat blazers
Not a playoff team! :)
only the knicks would feel the need to double favors in the post
Kurt Thomas playing his best game in a Knicks uniform in 8 years.
Why is Shumpert glued to the bench?
kurt thomas blows my mind x 2
novak gets beat for the rebound..then a 3
WHY is Novak in now at PF????
what pisses me off is that it is one thing to be unathletic, but novak isnt even scrappy. he is slow, weak, and soft and does not compete
Floor opens up a bit on offense with Novak out there. Gives Felton and JR more space to work with. And our help defense is serviceable tonight. Sometimes it’s just that simple.
Yeah, agreed. Again, it’s not like Cope is being some defensive whiz out there.
What a throwback game from Kurt tonight
With Indy and Brooklyn’s wins and Boston, Atlanta and Chicago’s losses, this would be huuuge. Come on, Knicks!
Any knicks opponents best offensive strategy?? Pass it to Novaks man and put 2 on the boards..christ! WTF!
I dont care if Novak is in the game at PF covering Favors if the Knicks would just let him cover Favors and not double. But putting Novak in at PF knowing full well they will be doubling at all times when they post him up is dumb because it has lead to a Burks 3pter and a Williams 3pter which was lucky but still. Nothing frustrates me more than having a lead and giving up open 3pters.
His rebounding has been fantastic though. I gotta give him credit there (except for that one failed box out).
Novak misses the FT..take em out back of the barn and shoot em.
Jon Barry: Don’t even TRY to imitate Clyde Fraiser. BLASPHEMY
Felton runs a horrible fast break but then hits a pullup 22fter in Milsap’s face. Could be the Knicks night.
Iso Fatso is actually working tonight.
Nice freakin pass Felton
this is kurt’s world at this point
time for the starters, with maybe kidd in for prigs
Every time I relax thinking the Knicks got this, Jazz with a quick run.
Nightmare for Kidd on the boards tonight. Typically strong rebounding guard has now somehow given up three (maybe four???) offensive rebounds to Utah. Just killer.
Who do you take out for him? I think you need Kidds end of game smarts JRs scoring and Felton is actually productive..
and jr
That last Utah shot was a shot not even bad JR would take.
And Jr redeems himslf
Kurt Thomas is a boss tonight!
take novak out please. hes getting killed on the glass. time for k mart
While obviously it would be better if they got that three, I think the Knicks have this. The Jazz don’t know how to come up with good plays, so they’ll just post up Jefferson and Thomas is owning him now.
Damnit Novak, make that 3pter and game over. Hope KMart is in for Novak for D.
what have we learned?? Al Jefferson is NOT a max player
Novak should be playing like 8 min a game..absolutely worthless lately..I cant believe last years double check goodwill tour vibes are still fogging Woodsons brain
They DID go to Jefferson! Ha!
As big of a win as this is for the Knicks, it is just as terrible of a loss for the Jazz. Embarrassing for them, really.
Considering the circumstances and play as of late, biggest Knicks win of the season??
Great performance from our lineup tonight. Everybody did well. Everybody. Gotta give Woodson credit for his coaching tonight as well. Can’t find fault with anything he did tonight. Even a better feel-good game then our first shelacking of Utah several days past.
Hmmm…it is right up there. I think the second San Antonio win was bigger, but this is right up there.
Kurt Thomas MVP of the game (and this is not a post from 1999)
Novak can’t box out Utah’s two big men by himself. Credit him for fighting and disrupting the subsequent putback attempt and helping secure the defensive rebound right afterwards with Kidd, rather than sloppily hack at em for free throws.
Absolutely– we’re really needed this one. And hopefully Melo and Tyson back on Wednesday and our weeklong nightmare will be over.
That did feel really good..we did get a nice string of bonehead plays from the Jazz that didnt hurt either
Big win tonight. And it only took starting with the worst lineup in the history of the NBA to achieve it.
Frank Isola ?@FisolaNYDN
Jason Kidd is having his left wrist/hand examined. Probably getting an x-ray. His hand was heavily wrapped.
When will this streak of predictable luck end?
Wow. Well, we all wanted him to get some rest, right?
Yet they somehow start games off better than our normal pre-injury lineup.
X-rays were negative on Kidd’s wrist.
Kurt Thomas was the man tonight. Salvaged a disastrous trip, you could say that the only bad loss was vs. Portland, all others were pretty predictable given how the Warriors, Nuggets and Clippers are playing.
