Let’s go!

    Justin Mrwik: Your reasoning?

No Chandler, our back court is league-worst, we’ve been mediocre for the last 45 games, we’re on the road, our offense is gimmicky and sucks against good defenses (C’s guard the 3 best in the league), and our defense has been bottom third of the league since the crazy start.

With Garnett it’d be over in the first.

Good luck with your prediction. But the celtics aren’t blowing the Knicks out let alone winning the game.

Man i love how much of a pest Pablo is on defense. Anybody that can get under Pierce’s skin has my support.

  4. johnlocke

Trollish comment. We beat them last time with Garnett.

    You really are fucking annoying.

Rondo played too. The game was in Boston as well. Also it was in late January so not during the flukish start to the season.

    Yup.

  8. Nick C.

Will you stop that. We all know the Knicks only win with flukish three point shooting, other teams sucking, not trying or missing players. :)

I’m loving how JR is playing on offense so far by the way… taking it to the hole…aggressive..no step back long 2s… me like

LOL Im all for the skepticism and pessimism, it makes this site alot funner and more objective to read. But some people really get annoying and stupid with their hatred of this team.

oh boy the Copeland at center experiment…hopefully this doesn’t last too long.

The Knicks are not exactly playing against the ’99 Spurs tonight! :)

  13. johnlocke

it’s funny watching Novak on defense…everyone thinks they’re Michael Jordan when he’s guarding them…

  14. johnlocke

Where is Camby? Does he have some unreleased injury?

    BigBlueAL:
D’Antoni would be proud of some of the lineups Woodson has used this season.

I think even MDA would shake his head at these lineups.

Im assuming he wont play tonight but will play tomorrow vs Memphis where his size and D will really be needed. Listening to Woodson in the past he has talked about not playing Camby more than 18-20 mins in a game and not playing him in back-to-backs.

Camby will obviously be more useful tomorrow night than tonight.

  17. johnlocke

Copeland just made Pierce look like A.I. with that first step… he and Novak are two of the most slow-footed people under 7 feet in the NBA

  18. johnlocke

    I can buy that…

  19. BigBlueAL

Green all game long has been allowed to maul Melo on D, both on the perimeter and in the post.

  20. yellowboy90

If MArtin didn’t have 2 fouls this game would be over with his PnR action and hustle.

  21. johnlocke

Well the only reason we’re up is b/c JR is shooting so ridiculously well from three in our gimmicky three point offense.
Seriously though, that might be the best offensive half I’ve seen JR play all season. That’s how he needs to play in the playoffs.

    BigBlueAL:
I just feel fortunate the Knicks are still in this game at halftime.

  22. Kikuchiyo

They asked Nick Anderson to join the TNT team, but he missed missed his shot.

    And missed another.

    And missed another.

    And missed another.

hangon – ESPN tells me that JR has shot 0 3-pointers this half – am i missing the humor or have ESPN got it wrong

  24. BigBlueAL

    custer:
Missed the first half, did we look as good as the score indicates?

Boston looking pretty bad has helped alot. JR played fantastic.

Missing the humor lol. Yeah JR didnt attempt a 3pter in the half, just kept driving to the basket at will. locke was referring to an earlier comment by someone hating on the Knicks.

  26. BigBlueAL

I know Green’s 3pter was lucky but still no need to double Bass in the post especially that late in the shotclock.

Good to know – excuse this New Zealander from missing the humor – wouldnt have suprised me to see ESPN screwing the Knicks by misreporting the box score.

I am watching the game unfold from work in Christchurch, New Zealand in the deep pacific, League Pass will get a thrashing when I get home in 5 hours.

GO KNICKS – Loving KMARTS contribution over the past few games- huge signing

  28. BigBlueAL

Well cant say I expected an easy 2nd half. Would be nice if Melo would stop launching stupid jumpers and get back into the post.

  29. DS

Q: Harder to tell apart on a blurry TV Landry Fields and Danilo Gallinari or Carmelo and K-Mart?

  30. nerfherder

Crowd noise has definitely been pumped into the arena through a lot of this game. Seems like there should be a rule against that.

  31. BigBlueAL

As soon as I complained about his shot selection next couple of times Melo touched it he drove to the basket. He heard me I guess lol.

  32. yellowboy90

Melo needs to stop rushing. Only really one bad shot but several missed jumpers that were wide open.

  33. d-mar

If Melo had made a couple of 3′s this game would be over.

And Jason Kidd doing what Jason Kidd do.

  34. BigBlueAL

    lavor postell:
Amazing how as soon as we go back to Melo on the block good things happen.

I mean I understand why he doesnt want to postup all the time because he does take a beating down there but man he is so good at it.

  35. BigBlueAL

Nice to see the Knicks turn back the Celtics rally and now have actually increased the halftime lead.

  36. yellowboy90

    DS:

I have a hard time telling Melo and K-Mart apart in HD. lol.

I think it’s fairly ridiculous how much contact Melo has to deal with when trying to establish post up position. It really is crazy how much contact he deals with.

  38. ephus

And this game is why I have a love for JR Smith that would make Justice Scalia uncomfortable. Good JR is one of the twenty best players in the NBA.

  39. BigBlueAL

    lavor postell:
Imagine replacing Copeland with STAT right now?How much would we be up right now?

Or if Chandler were healthy and starting KMart would be in right now for Cope.

  40. d-mar

I’m sure if we win the pundits will say it doesn’t matter, it’s all part of Doc Rivers’ master plan to get his team healthy and make their usual playoff run.

Only problem with that is they may drop to the 8th spot in the process.

  41. Hubert Davis

I would be very pleased if we came back from commercial & Melo was on the bench, but I doubt it. He’ll probably play til there are 30 secs left in an 18 pt game.

  42. DS

WHY does Woodson has his five most valuable active players on the floor when Boston has no chance of coming back?

  43. Hubert Davis

C’s have pulled their big guns and we’re still running ours in garbage time w a game against Memphis tomorrow. Woodson.

  44. lavor postell

Great win tonight. Hopefully we’ll get Tyson back tomorrow for Memphis. Sweeping this doubleheader would be fantastic.

  45. Robtachi

Looks like it may be a really successful night in New York sports vs. hated rivals. Bryzgalov really, really sucks.

  46. massive

Another good win. I’m glad Tyson didn’t play tonight since he clearly wasn’t needed tonight, and I love that Earl the Plumber has been taking the pipe straight to the basket. If JR keeps his aggressive play up, we’ll have a hell of a 6th man during the play-offs.

  47. Z-man

Great road win against a team in turmoil. Nice that we never gave them any confidence.

Dogrufus is a coward. He boldly makes hateful statements and doomsday predictions, yet doesn’t have the spine to own up to his own drivel. What an a-hole.

  48. Z-man

Sorry for the personal comments. I should have said that dogrufus’s commentary lately has been a-hole-ish. Maybe he’s a good guy off of this site.

  49. jon abbey

that JR three to end the third was a serious Denver flashback, it seems like he used to do that all the time when he was on them.

nice win, double hero ball with JR/Melo combining for 54 shots to Boston’s 69. mock hero ball all you want (and it is pretty ugly), but it sure does help to keep down the turnovers, only 8 to Boston’s 19 tonight.

second longest winning streak in the league currently… :)

Most of the isolations post-ups occurred after some form of continuity offense/ attempt at misdirection, as they have throughout the year.

If nothing is there in continuity, shot creation becomes a premium skill. In Melo’s and other great post-up player’s cases, it’s a form of playmaking through ball movement.

The Knicks could very well have one of the 10 lowest turnover offenses in NBA history. They’re currently the 18th best team in NBA history in giving the ball up.

If JR has really turned the corner in terms of understanding the need for consistent dribble drive, he can be one of the game’s best scorers.

    Justin Mrwik:
Why do people take the time and effort to post here who AREN’T knick fans?

Many of the regular posters here claim to be Knicks fans, but actually hate the team and root for it to fail.
