2013-14 Game Thread: Knicks @ Suns

Well, if the Knicks are going to win enough games to make the playoffs, they really have to win at least one of the next two games.

Let’s hope that it is tonight’s game!

Let’s go Knicks!

Is anyone else watching on league pass? I just loaded it up then and it says the game is cancelled?

Maybe your cable provider knows you’re a Knick fan and is worried about what you’re about to witness. League Pass is working okay here and has the Suns’ feed.

Apparently not everything that leaves JRs hands goes in. After his first two shots I was wishfully optomistic.

What is dragic’s career high? Might have a new one at the half…

Yeah, someone needs to tell the Knicks that damn near everyone on the Suns has 3-pt range except for Plumlee I think.

  5. The Infamous Cdiggy

That layup by Dragic was inexcusable. Funny thing is, as soon as he was at the top of the key I saw that coming. He drove by one blueshirt and the other two blueshirts never turned their heads until he was past them.

i dont know how many people also go on P & T, but FARTDOG is doing its job tonight. Dragic on pace for 72

This is the kind of game where we see who these knicks really are. The Suns are a good, not great team. Therefore, they will beat the Knicks by 8-10 points.

Indeed. But if the Suns start to fall in love with pull-up 3s then FARTDOG may have a reprieve.

And btw, no and-1 on that Melo inside bucket???

Clyde, on the kid that hit the halfcourt shot to win $77,777:
“And there’s the IRS right behind him.”

    Excellent Clyde. Excellent

owen, its actually hilarious if you have a good computer. its gif heavy though, so it slows things down a little. i like KBlogger for the real time game threads because the posts are more educated and thoughtful, but I review P & T after the game for humor.

That was a pretty damn pathetic sequence: Felton drives too deep into traffic, dumps it to Chandler who get’s blocked by a 6′ 1″ PG and then cannot inbound the ball. Oh, and the Suns hit a 3 after that.

I love Seth and P&T, just never read the comments on the game thread, many of them, and sort of hard to process….

Anyone want to help me write a book on the 2013-2014 Knicks season?
I was thinking of calling it “We’ll always have disarRaymond Felton”.

Adam Silver’s first major act as Commissioner should be to give the 8th seed in the East to the team finishing 9th in the West. This game does not look like two teams scrapping for their playoff lives.

Well, there is still hope the Hawks lose the rest of their games :-)

And that’s what makes the last three out of four so painful to watch; the Hawks are playing just as listlessly as the Knicks. With just a bit more effort we could be the ones to lose to the Pacers three weeks from now.

No surprise that the Knicks cannot handle the quickness of Dragic or Bledsoe.

No excuse that the Knicks are not matching the effort and hustle of the Morris twins.

Full effort does not guarantee success, but lack of effort guarantees failure.

  17. dtrickey

Done. This team really has no pride. Empty the bench and sit the starters, because it’s obvious they don’t want to play.

Yeah, one thing I really look forward to in the Jackson era is that, win or lose, you know they’ll at least be held accountable to give a good effort.

  19. ptmilo

Chandler started a step ahead of Plumlee on that fast break reverse dunk alley-pop, and watched it from half-court. I hope they’re calling it out on the Knicks broadcast.

  20. The Infamous Cdiggy

Well at least they kept the deficit to 22 at the end of the quarter. (Kanye shrug)

  21. The Infamous Cdiggy

So Priggy comes in, the offense becomes competent for a hot minute and the deficit drops to 19.

The Suns took the pedal off the gas a bit there, but man – what would this team look like with decent PG play from someone who could give them 30+ min per game and who isn’t ancient?

  22. maxwell_3g

dragic’s career high is 40. he prob wont get it, but lets be clear, he could have if he really wanted to

  23. maxwell_3g

and hey lebron…..the suns are wearing the dreaded sleeved jerseys. they seem to be able to play in them

  24. ephus

Anyone who was worried that Phil Jackson might retain Woodson can relax.

We will know that Phil had complete control if Herb Williams is dismissed with the rest of the coaching staff.

I think losing on Sunday would be the final nail. They can still theoretically pull this off if they have a winning record on this West Coast trip, just because Atlanta without Korver and Horford (it really isn’t losing Korver, per se, but more that the Horford injury has made it so that they can’t afford to also lose any one of their other three top guys, so if they’re missing Millsap, Korver or Teague they’re fucked). Otherwise, it really doesn’t seem possible, even with Atlanta’s terrible play (but then again, maybe Atlanta will seriously just lose out. It’s possible, I guess!).

In fact, did you know that Atlanta has been so bad that the Knicks’ playoff odds have improved even counting tonight’s loss? That’s how bad the Hawks are playing. The Knicks still have roughly a 10% chance (they were 8% after the Cavs loss).

I really just want the next Knick game i go to (next Friday) to actually mean something. Just give me that, Knicks!
