Mike Woodson got tough with his team today, throwing them all under the bus for a lack of effort, just in time for the team to play a terrible Magic team that they should easily beat and therefore make it look like Woodson’s methods worked. He’s a tricksy one, that Woodson is!
We pick up the game at the end of one, with the Knicks holding a four-point advantage.
Let’s go Knicks!
Fire Woodson! SHUMP SHUMP!
Is there a more selfish , brainless shot then jr smith long step back 2 pointer from a step before the 3 point line? How about with 23 seconds left with 2 defenders on him ? He’s got to be one of the last players teammates enjoy to play with on the court. I can’t stand what he stands for and how he plays the game. I miss the days where he only takes one shot in protest. Sorry for the jr smith rant … Enjoy the game
Thank you for being you, Orlando!
If you only look at the games the Knicks play against the Magic, they look like a very good team.
You stop it right now Cronin. You got it Brian. :)
Could JR possibly be turning things around?
Are the Knicks about to go on a long winning streak? Have they turned the corner?
Refs trying to cool off the KNicks?
Depends. Are they going to play the Magic every game? :)
Seriously, though, forget the competition, JR’s shot has looked a whole lot better these last two games.
Dishing and swishing!
Bargs didnt play in the 2nd quarter, Knicks outscore the Magic 36-14. Hmm.
I guarantee you that that just means Woodson’s gonna play him for all 24 minutes of the 2nd half because as well all know knowledge is for sissies.
It really makes us look good when we are creating wide open threes and actually making them. If JR and Shump can find their shots and Felton can hit 35% from three we are a much better team than we’ve played like so far. Even if we have an uptick in perimeter shooting the rest of the way and our defense improves I can’t see us challenging Indiana or Miami in a serious way in the playoffs.
Hey focus on the positive. ;-) Tyson is smashing. JR is doing well. Shump hit a shot. Melo is, well, Melo. Bargs sucked and sat.
Oh yeah, this team at its peak is not as good as Miami or Indiana, but fuck, they’re 8-18!! There’s no way they should be 8-18. They should definitely start winning some games and I think the Atlantic should be theirs for the taking.
It could honestly be a coincidence, but yeah, not looking good for Bargs-as-big-minutes-player.
Bargs definitely shouldn’t play against starters EVER. I’ve been pretty consistent on this from the beginning.
Tyson Chandler-master of the Kobe assist
It’s weird how the Knicks play so much more relaxed on the road. They really haven’t had an awful loss away from MSG, all the mind boggling ass kicking has taken place at home.
Great, Melo sprained his ankle pretty nasty.
Shump needs a hug.
This third quarter offense is gross. Why do we ever post up Chandler? Has ever scored on a post up in his Knick career?
Fucking bozos
Melo out for rest of the game, wouldnt be surprised if he is out for a few games. Merry Christmas!!
Has Amar’e passed out of the post in 2 years?
This is starting to suck badly. I guess we can look at this as a scientific experinent. We saw how they looked without Tyson. Now we may have to see how they look without Melo.
This game now rests of the shoulders of one JR Smith.
We’re screwed.
Amar’e seriously pisses me off with his tunnel vision. You can kick it out once in a while buddy.
Does kicking it count Lavor?
At least melo won’t play 40 tonight
Oh yeah, Melo is totally overrated. They so don’t need him.
Embarrassing.
This is where Tyson takes over. I had to do it for Ruru
Thank you Shump. Slump buster?
Zach Randolf, now big Baby. Short rotund guys and Tyson do not mix
My favorite Amar’e moment tonight was him coming up with a nice offensive rebound and then getting it stripped when he tried to power dribble between 3 defenders.
The Magic team they had on the court before the timeout was weirdly fat and looked like they related to Oliver Miller and fat Vin Baker.
hey guys, just woke up from a 1st quarter nap. what happened to Melo?
Jameer fucking Nelson really close to a triple double. Knicks.
Is it bad if I hope Felton is injured?
Stunning that Felton coming back still not close to 100% (by his own admission) gets hurt in his 1st game back.
Bargs coming through!
The real Iman Shumpert is still in there somewhere…
Beno being beno
2 HUGE plays on D by Shump.
Tell me they’re not going to blow this game……
Big plays by D on Shump and a huge offensive reb by Chandler down the stretch to help seal the win. Its last season all over again!!
Jr actually made a smart decision even though it went out on Nikola
Why is Beno on the floor on D?
Obviously Beno isn’t very good defensively, but he’s definitely not any worse than Felton. I also think he adds a lot more offensively to this team than Felton. His jumper is very much an upgrade over mini-Jerome James.
I think we’re all desperately hoping that this will help get Shump out of his slump. Please let Melo not be out longer than a week. Pretty surprised that Woodson didn’t have him back out on the floor when Orlando got within 1.
I’ve not been a big Beno fan this season, but I have to admit he was a serviceable backup PG tonight. Ran the offense reasonably well and was clutch down the stretch. Also Felton getting hurt (again) was such a DUH moment I hardly noticed it.
Brace yourselves, guys, for this perception-shattering stat of the night:
The Knicks actually out-rebounded their opponent 47-44.
Surely that must just be Orlando’s backcourt rebounding numbers?
I’ll take the win. Hope melo is ok, but given his track record, I say he’s out till after New Years minimum.
Interesting story for what it’s worth. I had my acl in my left knee repaired for the second time 12 weeks ago. My Surgeon here in town is the team doctor for the saints and the pelicans. My physical therapist met JR smith several times when he played for New Orleans early in his career. My therapist says JR was one of the flat out dumbest athletes he’s ever met. Obviously, this is not news. It’s been 9 years since those days. One would think JR has matured in the intervening years. As we have witnessed he has not.
On a side note, I wonder what it was like having a 19 year old JR smith running around bourbon street? Scary to think about.
Well, I think that there’s a reason he was so terrible in New Orleans.
Maybe JR would do better in a small market. Let’s trade him to Milwaukee for a large wheel of cheese.
Is the mercy rule if effect for Wednesday’s game with OKC?
I’m so invested in this season, I didn’t even realize the Knicks had a game tonight.
We’d need to throw in a first-round pick to complete that deal.
Silly me, I forgot. Unprotected of course.
But then the mandate comes down from Dolan that we need to sign the wheel of cheese to a max contract extension, but without insurance against mold.
…..and sign the Wheel of Cheese’s brother too and give him a roster spot with full pay even though he’s only D League Wheel of Cheese talent.
Speaking of the Cheese Wheel’s D-league brother, did y’all see that the Eerie Bayhawks lost all 7 of the games Chris Smith was assigned to them for… And then they won their first game after he was recalled. Those Smith boys are cursed, I tells ya!
Melo probably took himself out of the Thunder massacre…
