    Nick C. says:

Chandler with the turnaround bank shot.

  2. 2
    Owen says:

Party ends tonight I am afraid….

  3. 3
    DRed says:

It’s time for the Balkman to fly tonight.

  4. 4
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Man the way this game is going when I heard that whistle against Fields I thought they were gonna call a charge.

  5. 5
    Brian Cronin says:

The refs are not helping, but also the Knicks are making some sloppy plays.

  6. 6
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Jeffries must not realize Love is a great three-point shooter.

  7. 7
    Frank O. says:

Someone needs to tell the Knicks the Love has great range

  8. 8
    Nick C. says:

Not a great start. In the penalty halfway through the first.

  9. 9
    Brian Cronin says:

Okay, if they can’t make wide open layups, they’re pretty much screwed.

  10. 10
    Owen says:

“Jeffries must not realize Love is a great three-point shooter.”

    I mean, he’s no Carmelo Anthony….

  11. 11
    Gamecockerbocker says:

No foul on that Lin runner?

  12. 12
    Frank O. says:

    Jeffries with great hands

  13. 13
    Owen says:

Wow, thats some jumpshot from lin…

  14. 14
    Brian Cronin says:

Someone needs to tell the Knicks the Love has great range

You’d think him continuing to make the shots would have been enough of a sign.

    You’d think…

  15. 15
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Good lord Lin has a beautiful looking shot.

  16. 16
    Doug says:

Hello, Ridnour? Your face just called. Soccer practice is over and you need to come PICK IT UP!

  17. 17
    Nick C. says:

Way to go Lin, driving layup followed by crossing over Ridnour to get a better shot and draining it.

  18. 18
    mase says:

    ‘just Lin time’

  19. 19
    d-mar says:

Pekovic looks like that Bond villain with the metal teeth

  20. 20
    Frank O. says:

Okay, all these folks who say little can’t shoot, they need to watch this kid. The cross over back step jumper was ankle breaking devastating. He’s heating up.

  21. 21
    SSS says:

Real sluggish start. Unforgivable to allow Love such open looks. Though they certainly haven’t been helped by some, uh, inconsistent refereeing so far. Signs of life though at least. And Lin still looks good.

Really think this is the type of game that Shump can make an impact in.

  22. 22
    Frank O. says:

    D looks a but tired.
    Nice shot lin

  23. 23
    DRed says:

    K. Love is going to wind up with like 35 boards tonight.

  24. 24
    ess-dog says:

    Whoa!vak!

  25. 25
    Nick C. says:

Lin with a floater in the lane. It seems every game there’s something new. Something old as well the pass to Novak for a three.

  26. 26
    Frank O. says:

    Wilves in the penalty already

  27. 27
    Gamecockerbocker says:

These refs are determined to make sure everyone in attendance falls asleep in their seats tonight.

  28. 28
    SSS says:

There have been some AWFUL calls so far. The NBA can be so frustrating.

  29. 29
    Frank O. says:

    Little home cooking going on.
How the hell was that a block

  30. 30
    Gamecockerbocker says:

HOW IN THE NAME OF TIM DONAHEY WAS THAT A BLOCKING FOUL??!?!?!?!

  31. 31
    Doug says:

This Minny crowd is like a tomb. I thought they were excited about this year’s Wolves team?

  32. 32
    Brian Cronin says:

    Little home cooking going on.
How the hell was that a block

    Totally.

  33. 33
    Nick C. says:

The didn’t fall, nor the pass the tine before but that was two straight left-handed drives by Lin.

  34. 34
    DRed says:

This Lin kid might turn out to be a decent player.

  35. 35
    Gamecockerbocker says:

These refs are taking forever to blow the whistle after contact.

  36. 36
    Frank O. says:

Opposing guards keep simplistically trying to deny his hand and they keep fouling. Last four games, they all think he has a weak hand and it’s backfiring.
Everyone playing them so far are getting into the penalty quickly

  37. 37
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Mike Bibby trying to guard Barea… lmao.

  38. 38
    Owen says:

jeffries with a spin move in the lane, feels like a parallel universe, except it didn’t go in…

  39. 39
    Frank O. says:

    NOVAK

  40. 40
    SSS says:

I think D’Antoni needs to institute a rule – Shump can only take wide open spot-up 3-pointers. All other shots must be at the rim.

  41. 41
    Gamecockerbocker says:

    Novocain doin his thang!

  42. 42
    Brian Cronin says:

    Don’t shoot, Shump.

  43. 43
    Owen says:

    SHUMP SHUMP!!!!

  44. 44
    Gamecockerbocker says:

SHUMP SHUMP DOIN WHAT SHUMP SHUMP DOES!!!!!

  45. 45
    Doug says:

    Iman Shumpert PARKOUR!

  46. 46
    Nick C. says:

    Tenacious play by Shumpert there.

  47. 47
    Frank O. says:

    IMAMbelievable!!!!

  48. 48
    SSS says:

so is that the end of the obligatory Bibby cameo?

Even if its not – I’d appreciate it if someone lied to me and told me it was.

  49. 49
    TheXman says:

can someone play some freaking D out there, jeesh

  50. 50
    Brian Cronin says:

Shump is so good at defense. He just doesn’t make strong decisions on offense.

  51. 51
    The Honorable Cock Jowles says:

Awful without Lin and Chandler. D-League bad.

Great play by Shump, though. (Wish I could watch in HD, Dolan.)

  52. 52
    Brian Cronin says:

This game is a mix between

    A. Frustratingly painful calls and the Wolves getting lucky bounces

    and

    B. Impressive play by the Knicks to still be in the game with the existence of A.

  53. 53
    The Honorable Cock Jowles says:

I want them to bring Jordan in to put the hack on Kevin Love. If Chandler ends up with a 3rd foul in the 2nd quarter, I’d say you have to do it. The Novak/Jeffries frontcourt stands no chance.

  54. 54
    Nick C. says:

    Novak again!

  55. 55
    Gamecockerbocker says:

    Steve Novak for president.

  56. 56
    Gamecockerbocker says:

I mean whoever that bum was guarding Novak was practically taking a nap on Novak’s shoulder, but it’s cool.

  57. 57
    DRed says:

Steve Novak got on offensive foul? How is that possible?

  58. 58
    SSS says:

    Brian Cronin:
Shump is so good at defense. He just doesn’t make strong decisions on offense.

In other words, exactly his scouting report coming out of school. Gives me hope though, you’d think that this is teachable.

NOW, why is Bibby still in? I’m going to need answers.

In other news – refereeing has gotten a bit less awful.

  59. 59
    The Honorable Cock Jowles says:

They need to cut Bibby now.

  60. 60
    KnicksFanInVA says:

    Bibby is so awful.

  61. 61
    Frank O. says:

BIBBY HITS FIRST BASKET IN FIVE GAMES

  62. 62
    KnicksFanInVA says:

    Damn Shump.

  63. 63
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Balkman Would’ve finished that layup Walker missed…

  64. 64
    Duff Soviet Union says:

In sad news, Whitney Houston died about 45m ago. Sad, and sadly unsurprising.

  65. 65
    KnicksFanInVA says:

This team just sucks without Lin.

  66. 66
    Brian Cronin says:

    What defense from Bibby.

  67. 67
    Frank O. says:

I would love to see Jorts banging on their thug center

  68. 68
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Seriously. Balkman can’t be that much worse than Walker.

  69. 69
    Brian Cronin says:

Can’t Lin just play 48 minutes.

  70. 70
    Gamecockerbocker says:

    Seriously. Walker. GTFO.

  71. 71
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Walker needs to go hide in the crypt that Bibby came from.

  72. 72
    Brian Cronin says:

    Walker is brutal.

  73. 73
    TheXman says:

Just imagine if Lin got cut, this would’ve been the team for the past week. Dear abomination of god.

  74. 74
    The Honorable Cock Jowles says:

I want to make a shirt with a picture of Chandler slamming home a putback dunk that says:

    I MAKE MY OWN SHOTS

  75. 75
    The Sominator says:

Can’t believe I am saying this, put Jeffries back in. Bench Walker!

  76. 76
    Frank O. says:

Chandler should call the cops. This is assault and battery

  77. 77
    d-mar says:

I can’t wait till we get healthy and we can bury Walker’s ass on the bench. He is truly awful.

  78. 78
    SSS says:

Think second half will finally be Toney Douglas time again? At least for a few minutes? He can’t be worse than Bibby or Walker, can he? Or am I just forgetting?

  79. 79
    Nick C. says:

Yeah Walker is taking some odd shots. Its like he thinks he’s vintage Dr. J with those angles.

  80. 80
    TheXman says:

BILLY WALKER NO BASKETBALL IQ, CAN LIN TEACH HIM SOMETHING, seriously Lin is the real deal when you see how terrible the team is when he’s sitting. This disaster was occurring in the beginning of the 4th last night.

  81. 81
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Shumpert’s playing well now. Probably going to start bricking layups soon.

  82. 82
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Shump keeping us in the game.

  83. 83
    Frank O. says:

Shump should not just chuck up a shot. Ball needs to move

  84. 84
    TheXman says:

jj barea is a better lin

  85. 85
    KnicksFanInVA says:

This is going to be a tough game. We need to get JR just so we can ship Walker out.

  86. 86
    Brian Cronin says:

This lineup is so bad, offensively and defensively.

  87. 87
    xcat01 says:

Is JLin hurt? Why hasn’t he come back into the game?

  88. 88
    Frank O. says:

    TheXman:
jj barea is a better lin

Seriously. Has barea ever scored 38?

  89. 89
    KnicksFanInVA says:

    xcat01:
Is JLin hurt? Why hasn’t he come back into the game?

Never utter the words “JLin” and “Hurt” ever again.

  90. 90
    Brian Cronin says:

Shump is good on defense and is good at driving on offense, but he continues to take bad shots. Walker is a mess on offense and defense. Novak is a mess on defense. Bibby is a mess on offense and defense. Such a bad lineup.

  91. 91
    DRed says:

Balkman is better than Walker. I know he does stupid shit and he can’t shoot, but he’s not this terrible.

  92. 92
    Frank O. says:

What the hell is Shumpert doing?
Dribble too much, take ridiculous shot. The. Foul someone

  93. 93
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Novak with a turn around fade? Seriously?

  94. 94
    SSS says:

    Frank O.:
What the hell is Shumpert doing?
Dribble too much, take ridiculous shot. The. Foul someone

I actually think that may have been a horrible alley-oop pass.

  95. 95
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Oh dear god Walker is back in.

  96. 96
    Brian Cronin says:

Omigod, the decision making on offense is so brutal.

  97. 97
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Oh thank God, Bill Walker’s back in.

  98. 98
    Frank O. says:

Novak should not be trying to take a guy one one ine

  99. 99
    Nick C. says:

Down 10 but Lin is back in and promptly finds Chandler for an and-one.

  100. 100
    TheXman says:

daer god team can only sustain so long with scrubs, landry just awful turnover, shump chucking, billy walker…well nevermind. dear god, i at least like novak he doesn’t do anything majorly stupid. he’ll shoot when he’s open, passes when he’s not.

  101. 101
    The Honorable Cock Jowles says:

What I wouldn’t give for Faried to be coming off the bench right about now…

  102. 102
    llcoolbp says:

Bill walker, TD, Mike Bibby, our version of the 3 stooges.

  103. 103
    KnicksFanInVA says:

    llcoolbp:
Bill walker, TD, Mike Bibby, our version of the 3 stooges.

    LOL

  104. 104
    Frank O. says:

They’re tired. They guys aren’t moving well away from the ball. Passes are lazy and settling for jumpers.
    Those are fatigue issues

  105. 105
    Gamecockerbocker says:

I can’t believe how un-terrified Jeffries looks on offense this year.

  106. 106
    SSS says:

While I’m also a bit worried about how our starting 5 will gel together, this team is going to be massively improved when Melo and Stat come back (and hopefully JR signs) just by creating depth. I’m really interested to see how D’Antoni handles his rotations going forward.

  107. 107
    llcoolbp says:

damn, lin is deadly in the open court.

  108. 108
    Frank O. says:

    RAINMAKER

  109. 109
    Gamecockerbocker says:

    Lin can’t shoot.

  110. 110
    llcoolbp says:

    Lin doing what he do.

  111. 111
    KnicksFanInVA says:

    Lin.Is.For.Real.

  112. 112
    Frank O. says:

    A LINslaught!!

  113. 113
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Someone get Lin some coconut water and a power bar so he can play the entire second half.

  114. 114
    The Honorable Cock Jowles says:

IT’S STEVE NASH WITH AN EPICANTHIC FOLD AND A HAIRCUT

    I SWEAR

  115. 115
    max fisher-cohen says:

Knicks have forced 13 turnovers. Maybe they aren’t forcing misses, but the defense hasn’t been bad.

  116. 116
    Frank O. says:

Gr8 recovery by Shumpert on Rubio drive

  117. 117
    Nick C. says:

Lin was a one man show on that possession. Out to Shump, miss, grab rebound, find Hedgerows underneath, fumble, pick it up and “f it I might as well do it myself” Layup.

  118. 118
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Has Lin been to the line all game?

  119. 119
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Lin needs help. Walker and Bibby are just ridiculously awful.

  120. 120
    Brian Cronin says:

This game is so frustrating. Every stupid bounce seems to be going Minny’s way. And the refs calls are brutal. Such a terribly annoying game.

  121. 121
    TheXman says:

Lin uncharacteristically risked it with the 24 seconds left, basically allowing the wolves to get 4 more points. Though terrible foul by Shump, Lin thought he had a higher % play by rushing allowed rubio to drive back, ugh. Wolves run the fast break pretty well.

  122. 122
    Gamecockerbocker says:

    #FreeBalkman!!!!!!!!!!!

  123. 123
    LMNYKFAN4LIFE says:

i like that Lin was pissed after the half slammed the towel. lets see how he does from behind cause hes led since hes started playing. i think hes done great. the Knicks need to step it up not Lin. lets go guys and mda put novak in leave walker on the bench. put shumpert when they go small on the sf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  124. 124
    Spree8nyk8 says:

Hey gamecockerbocker, we need to hang out for a game sometime, I live in Columbia!

  125. 125
    DRed says:

I mean, why are Jordan and Balkman even on the team if they can’t get into a game like this?

  126. 126
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Maybe Novak really should start the second half in place of Walker.

  127. 127
    Gamecockerbocker says:

    Spree8nyk8:
Hey gamecockerbocker, we need to hang out for a game sometime, I live in Columbia!

I’m down. My roommates are big Knicks fans too.

  128. 128
    Brian Cronin says:

Lin uncharacteristically risked it with the 24 seconds left, basically allowing the wolves to get 4 more points. Though terrible foul by Shump, Lin thought he had a higher % play by rushing allowed rubio to drive back, ugh. Wolves run the fast break pretty well.

Good point. When even Lin is making dumb decisions, then you know things are going bad. Still, eight point deficit is not impossible to overcome.

  129. 129
    TheXman says:

none of these guys besides novak can get hot behind the 3, so we really need novak to win this game really, because it’s going be tough to stop them. We’re going to need a flurry of 3′s, maybe Bibsanity?!

  130. 130
    Doug says:

    The Honorable Cock Jowles:
IT’S STEVE NASH WITH AN EPICANTHIC FOLD AND A HAIRCUT

    I SWEAR

Actually Jeremy Lin has double eyelids.

Trust me, we notice these things.

  131. 131
    Frank O. says:

Rubio is anticipating lin’s direction well and frustrating him

  132. 132
    Frank O. says:

62 points in a half. Ugh.
    Fatigue affecting effort

  133. 133
    llcoolbp says:

the knicks will come out strong in the second half. A game like this is good for Lin. Matching up against another young phenom (rubio). The anger Lin showed at the end of the half shows how much he cares. Let’s hope he channels it in the right direction in the second half. Having said that, I can’t wait to have STAT back. I’m getting tired of seeing Walker throw up ugly shot after ugly shot.

  134. 134
    Doug says:

    Frank O.:
Rubio is anticipating lin’s direction well and frustrating him

He has a 6’9 wingspan IIRC. Deceptively pesky.

  135. 135
    max fisher-cohen says:

Brian Cronin: Good point. When even Lin is making dumb decisions, then you know things are going bad. Still, eight point deficit is not impossible to overcome.

Yeah, this game seemed on the verge of getting out of hand a couple times, so 8 point deficit doesn’t sound that bad to me.

  136. 136
    KnicksFanInVA says:

    Wolves played last night too.

  137. 137
    Spree8nyk8 says:

Gamecockerbocker: I’m down. My roommates are big Knicks fans too.

Cool man, DM me on twitter @spree8nyk8

  138. 138
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Lin really could use an extra finisher around the rim in the second half…. #FreeBalkman?

  139. 139
    Jake S. says:

Does Mike Woodson buff his scalp?

  140. 140
    Jake S. says:

It’s upsetting to watch Pekovic eat Tyson’s lunch.

  141. 141
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Bill Walker, for the love of God please don’t take a contested three the first time you get the ball.

  142. 142
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Put Walker’s ass on the bench and bring in Novak.

  143. 143
    Gamecockerbocker says:

I swear I’ve seen Pekovic bouncing at bar somewhere in Columbia South Carolina before.

  144. 144
    Gamecockerbocker says:

These refs really, really suck. No way around it. This is disgusting. How the hell does Minnesota have the ball?

  145. 145
    Nick C. says:

Are the Knicks in the process of getting screwed out of a possession again?

  146. 146
    Gamecockerbocker says:

How are we only down five?

  147. 147
    daJudge says:

I really like Rubio’s game. Brian, you are right. The lineup at this time is awful. I am usually so negative during the games, my wife asks (demands) me to leave the room. I usually do and read Science Fiction, which this is anyway. We do have a couple of pretty good guys on the mend and will be back soon. Also, I thought Minnesota has played great. Keep the faith and, if the Knicks lose, the G Men lost to the Skins twice. I was major bummed, but you know what happened. Learn from it and move on. Right? In Lin we trust.

  148. 148
    Gamecockerbocker says:

THESE REFS???????? WHAT IN GOD’S NAME ARE THEY DOING? DID THEY SMOKE A POUND OF WEED BEFORE THE GAME STARTED? That’s two possessions the Knicks have been screwed out of in this quarter.

  149. 149
    Nick C. says:

In the midst of all this mess Fields is having a nice game.

  150. 150
    KnicksFanInVA says:

    This game is still winnable.

  151. 151
    TheXman says:

    rubio getting into lin’s head?

  152. 152
    Gamecockerbocker says:

Surprised Lin wasn’t called for a charge and kicked out of the game on that drive the way this game is being officiated.

  153. 153
    llcoolbp says:

Lin definitely has to be gassed after the week he has had. He doesn’t seem to have that extra spark on his drives.

  154. 154
    Jake S. says:

Bill Walker is just the worst.

  155. 155
    iserp says:

Lin should take it easy now. I would like Landry to ask more for the ball, he is playing really well today

  156. 156
    KnicksFanInVA says:

I hate Walker. As a player.

  157. 157
    Gamecockerbocker says:

    …Bill…Walker…Again…

  158. 158
    Frank O. says:

    Walker is killing us

  159. 159
    llcoolbp says:

I just can’t stand bill walker. He is the new tony douglas.

  160. 160
    TheXman says:

Why is pekovic so good? he’s outplaying chandler

  161. 161
    Gamecockerbocker says:

If Walker is in after this stoppage of play I might vomit.

  162. 162
    KnicksFanInVA says:

Why is MDA so fascinated with Walker. Blows my mind.

  163. 163
    Jake S. says:

    KnicksFanInVA:
I hate Walker. As a player.

I hate him as a linguist and philosopher.

  164. 164
    xcat01 says:

So the way to slow JLin down is to run 2 PGs out at the same time. Hmmm, don’t think that will work when Stat and Melo come back. Also, not too many teams have 3 quality PGs on their rosters.

  165. 165
    Nick C. says:

If there was a stat sheet of stupid plays Bill Walker would fill it up in five minutes.

  166. 166
    Jake S. says:

Chandler looks slow tonight, bless his Secretariat-sized heart.

So the way to slow JLin down is to run 2 PGs out at the same time.Hmmm, don’t think that will work when Stat and Melo come back. Also, not too many teams have 3 quality PGs on their rosters.

The way to slow Lin down is to perform inception on D’Antoni the night before a game and convince him to give Walker extended playing time.

If Amare and Melo is out there, the spacing gets amazing. You may have been noticing Minni collapsing on Lin with sometimes three guys tonight. That happened because For a time our guys couldn’t hit the ocean. Also, Lin went from not playing to being the guy and doing 40 minutes a night. He’s exhausted.
Amare and Melo are going to face so much single coverage and wide open dishes, they are going to get 30 each on like 12 shots.
The idea that Jeffries and Walker is a better combo than Amare Melo is literally nuts.
Amare and Melo are literally salivating knowing they have a Pg who can pass and score.

I’m sure all that Amare and Melo are thinking is that they can’t wait to get back on the court and dominate the offense, winning streak be damned. You know they’re all about personal stats and couldn’t care less about wins and losses. They wish Lin had never shown up, it means less shots for them.

You guys are generous. I find it hard to call that Rubio turnover a forced one. I’m not saying they didn’t play well though – given their tired legs and the awful calls against them, its a minor miracle they hung close enough to steal one.

Sorry about my verbs. Talking to my son and typing isn’t the smartest writing technique. Lol
One other good thing: this stretch has so helped our bench and its confidence. Bobby and walker are only going to get few minutes, but Novak has moved up the depth chart.
