Chandler with the turnaround bank shot.
Party ends tonight I am afraid….
It’s time for the Balkman to fly tonight.
Man the way this game is going when I heard that whistle against Fields I thought they were gonna call a charge.
The refs are not helping, but also the Knicks are making some sloppy plays.
Jeffries must not realize Love is a great three-point shooter.
Someone needs to tell the Knicks the Love has great range
Not a great start. In the penalty halfway through the first.
Okay, if they can’t make wide open layups, they’re pretty much screwed.
“Jeffries must not realize Love is a great three-point shooter.”
I mean, he’s no Carmelo Anthony….
No foul on that Lin runner?
Jeffries with great hands
Wow, thats some jumpshot from lin…
You’d think him continuing to make the shots would have been enough of a sign.
You’d think…
Good lord Lin has a beautiful looking shot.
Hello, Ridnour? Your face just called. Soccer practice is over and you need to come PICK IT UP!
Way to go Lin, driving layup followed by crossing over Ridnour to get a better shot and draining it.
‘just Lin time’
Pekovic looks like that Bond villain with the metal teeth
Okay, all these folks who say little can’t shoot, they need to watch this kid. The cross over back step jumper was ankle breaking devastating. He’s heating up.
Real sluggish start. Unforgivable to allow Love such open looks. Though they certainly haven’t been helped by some, uh, inconsistent refereeing so far. Signs of life though at least. And Lin still looks good.
Really think this is the type of game that Shump can make an impact in.
D looks a but tired.
Nice shot lin
K. Love is going to wind up with like 35 boards tonight.
Whoa!vak!
Lin with a floater in the lane. It seems every game there’s something new. Something old as well the pass to Novak for a three.
Wilves in the penalty already
These refs are determined to make sure everyone in attendance falls asleep in their seats tonight.
There have been some AWFUL calls so far. The NBA can be so frustrating.
Little home cooking going on.
How the hell was that a block
HOW IN THE NAME OF TIM DONAHEY WAS THAT A BLOCKING FOUL??!?!?!?!
This Minny crowd is like a tomb. I thought they were excited about this year’s Wolves team?
Totally.
The didn’t fall, nor the pass the tine before but that was two straight left-handed drives by Lin.
This Lin kid might turn out to be a decent player.
These refs are taking forever to blow the whistle after contact.
Opposing guards keep simplistically trying to deny his hand and they keep fouling. Last four games, they all think he has a weak hand and it’s backfiring.
Everyone playing them so far are getting into the penalty quickly
Mike Bibby trying to guard Barea… lmao.
jeffries with a spin move in the lane, feels like a parallel universe, except it didn’t go in…
NOVAK
I think D’Antoni needs to institute a rule – Shump can only take wide open spot-up 3-pointers. All other shots must be at the rim.
Novocain doin his thang!
Don’t shoot, Shump.
SHUMP SHUMP!!!!
SHUMP SHUMP DOIN WHAT SHUMP SHUMP DOES!!!!!
Iman Shumpert PARKOUR!
Tenacious play by Shumpert there.
IMAMbelievable!!!!
so is that the end of the obligatory Bibby cameo?
Even if its not – I’d appreciate it if someone lied to me and told me it was.
can someone play some freaking D out there, jeesh
Shump is so good at defense. He just doesn’t make strong decisions on offense.
Awful without Lin and Chandler. D-League bad.
Great play by Shump, though. (Wish I could watch in HD, Dolan.)
This game is a mix between
A. Frustratingly painful calls and the Wolves getting lucky bounces
and
B. Impressive play by the Knicks to still be in the game with the existence of A.
I want them to bring Jordan in to put the hack on Kevin Love. If Chandler ends up with a 3rd foul in the 2nd quarter, I’d say you have to do it. The Novak/Jeffries frontcourt stands no chance.
Novak again!
Steve Novak for president.
I mean whoever that bum was guarding Novak was practically taking a nap on Novak’s shoulder, but it’s cool.
Steve Novak got on offensive foul? How is that possible?
In other words, exactly his scouting report coming out of school. Gives me hope though, you’d think that this is teachable.
NOW, why is Bibby still in? I’m going to need answers.
In other news – refereeing has gotten a bit less awful.
They need to cut Bibby now.
Bibby is so awful.
BIBBY HITS FIRST BASKET IN FIVE GAMES
Damn Shump.
Balkman Would’ve finished that layup Walker missed…
In sad news, Whitney Houston died about 45m ago. Sad, and sadly unsurprising.
This team just sucks without Lin.
What defense from Bibby.
I would love to see Jorts banging on their thug center
Seriously. Balkman can’t be that much worse than Walker.
Can’t Lin just play 48 minutes.
Seriously. Walker. GTFO.
Walker needs to go hide in the crypt that Bibby came from.
Walker is brutal.
Just imagine if Lin got cut, this would’ve been the team for the past week. Dear abomination of god.
I want to make a shirt with a picture of Chandler slamming home a putback dunk that says:
I MAKE MY OWN SHOTS
Can’t believe I am saying this, put Jeffries back in. Bench Walker!
Chandler should call the cops. This is assault and battery
I can’t wait till we get healthy and we can bury Walker’s ass on the bench. He is truly awful.
Think second half will finally be Toney Douglas time again? At least for a few minutes? He can’t be worse than Bibby or Walker, can he? Or am I just forgetting?
Yeah Walker is taking some odd shots. Its like he thinks he’s vintage Dr. J with those angles.
BILLY WALKER NO BASKETBALL IQ, CAN LIN TEACH HIM SOMETHING, seriously Lin is the real deal when you see how terrible the team is when he’s sitting. This disaster was occurring in the beginning of the 4th last night.
Shumpert’s playing well now. Probably going to start bricking layups soon.
Shump keeping us in the game.
Shump should not just chuck up a shot. Ball needs to move
jj barea is a better lin
This is going to be a tough game. We need to get JR just so we can ship Walker out.
This lineup is so bad, offensively and defensively.
Is JLin hurt? Why hasn’t he come back into the game?
Seriously. Has barea ever scored 38?
Never utter the words “JLin” and “Hurt” ever again.
Shump is good on defense and is good at driving on offense, but he continues to take bad shots. Walker is a mess on offense and defense. Novak is a mess on defense. Bibby is a mess on offense and defense. Such a bad lineup.
Balkman is better than Walker. I know he does stupid shit and he can’t shoot, but he’s not this terrible.
What the hell is Shumpert doing?
Dribble too much, take ridiculous shot. The. Foul someone
Novak with a turn around fade? Seriously?
I actually think that may have been a horrible alley-oop pass.
Oh dear god Walker is back in.
Omigod, the decision making on offense is so brutal.
Oh thank God, Bill Walker’s back in.
Novak should not be trying to take a guy one one ine
Down 10 but Lin is back in and promptly finds Chandler for an and-one.
daer god team can only sustain so long with scrubs, landry just awful turnover, shump chucking, billy walker…well nevermind. dear god, i at least like novak he doesn’t do anything majorly stupid. he’ll shoot when he’s open, passes when he’s not.
What I wouldn’t give for Faried to be coming off the bench right about now…
Bill walker, TD, Mike Bibby, our version of the 3 stooges.
LOL
They’re tired. They guys aren’t moving well away from the ball. Passes are lazy and settling for jumpers.
Those are fatigue issues
I can’t believe how un-terrified Jeffries looks on offense this year.
While I’m also a bit worried about how our starting 5 will gel together, this team is going to be massively improved when Melo and Stat come back (and hopefully JR signs) just by creating depth. I’m really interested to see how D’Antoni handles his rotations going forward.
damn, lin is deadly in the open court.
RAINMAKER
Lin can’t shoot.
Lin doing what he do.
Lin.Is.For.Real.
A LINslaught!!
Someone get Lin some coconut water and a power bar so he can play the entire second half.
IT’S STEVE NASH WITH AN EPICANTHIC FOLD AND A HAIRCUT
I SWEAR
Knicks have forced 13 turnovers. Maybe they aren’t forcing misses, but the defense hasn’t been bad.
Gr8 recovery by Shumpert on Rubio drive
Lin was a one man show on that possession. Out to Shump, miss, grab rebound, find Hedgerows underneath, fumble, pick it up and “f it I might as well do it myself” Layup.
Has Lin been to the line all game?
Lin needs help. Walker and Bibby are just ridiculously awful.
This game is so frustrating. Every stupid bounce seems to be going Minny’s way. And the refs calls are brutal. Such a terribly annoying game.
Lin uncharacteristically risked it with the 24 seconds left, basically allowing the wolves to get 4 more points. Though terrible foul by Shump, Lin thought he had a higher % play by rushing allowed rubio to drive back, ugh. Wolves run the fast break pretty well.
#FreeBalkman!!!!!!!!!!!
i like that Lin was pissed after the half slammed the towel. lets see how he does from behind cause hes led since hes started playing. i think hes done great. the Knicks need to step it up not Lin. lets go guys and mda put novak in leave walker on the bench. put shumpert when they go small on the sf!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hey gamecockerbocker, we need to hang out for a game sometime, I live in Columbia!
I mean, why are Jordan and Balkman even on the team if they can’t get into a game like this?
Maybe Novak really should start the second half in place of Walker.
I’m down. My roommates are big Knicks fans too.
Good point. When even Lin is making dumb decisions, then you know things are going bad. Still, eight point deficit is not impossible to overcome.
none of these guys besides novak can get hot behind the 3, so we really need novak to win this game really, because it’s going be tough to stop them. We’re going to need a flurry of 3′s, maybe Bibsanity?!
Actually Jeremy Lin has double eyelids.
Trust me, we notice these things.
Rubio is anticipating lin’s direction well and frustrating him
62 points in a half. Ugh.
Fatigue affecting effort
the knicks will come out strong in the second half. A game like this is good for Lin. Matching up against another young phenom (rubio). The anger Lin showed at the end of the half shows how much he cares. Let’s hope he channels it in the right direction in the second half. Having said that, I can’t wait to have STAT back. I’m getting tired of seeing Walker throw up ugly shot after ugly shot.
He has a 6’9 wingspan IIRC. Deceptively pesky.
Yeah, this game seemed on the verge of getting out of hand a couple times, so 8 point deficit doesn’t sound that bad to me.
Wolves played last night too.
Cool man, DM me on twitter @spree8nyk8
Lin really could use an extra finisher around the rim in the second half…. #FreeBalkman?
Does Mike Woodson buff his scalp?
It’s upsetting to watch Pekovic eat Tyson’s lunch.
Bill Walker, for the love of God please don’t take a contested three the first time you get the ball.
Put Walker’s ass on the bench and bring in Novak.
I swear I’ve seen Pekovic bouncing at bar somewhere in Columbia South Carolina before.
These refs really, really suck. No way around it. This is disgusting. How the hell does Minnesota have the ball?
Are the Knicks in the process of getting screwed out of a possession again?
How are we only down five?
I really like Rubio’s game. Brian, you are right. The lineup at this time is awful. I am usually so negative during the games, my wife asks (demands) me to leave the room. I usually do and read Science Fiction, which this is anyway. We do have a couple of pretty good guys on the mend and will be back soon. Also, I thought Minnesota has played great. Keep the faith and, if the Knicks lose, the G Men lost to the Skins twice. I was major bummed, but you know what happened. Learn from it and move on. Right? In Lin we trust.
THESE REFS???????? WHAT IN GOD’S NAME ARE THEY DOING? DID THEY SMOKE A POUND OF WEED BEFORE THE GAME STARTED? That’s two possessions the Knicks have been screwed out of in this quarter.
In the midst of all this mess Fields is having a nice game.
This game is still winnable.
rubio getting into lin’s head?
Surprised Lin wasn’t called for a charge and kicked out of the game on that drive the way this game is being officiated.
Lin definitely has to be gassed after the week he has had. He doesn’t seem to have that extra spark on his drives.
Bill Walker is just the worst.
Lin should take it easy now. I would like Landry to ask more for the ball, he is playing really well today
I hate Walker. As a player.
…Bill…Walker…Again…
Walker is killing us
I just can’t stand bill walker. He is the new tony douglas.
Why is pekovic so good? he’s outplaying chandler
If Walker is in after this stoppage of play I might vomit.
Why is MDA so fascinated with Walker. Blows my mind.
I hate him as a linguist and philosopher.
So the way to slow JLin down is to run 2 PGs out at the same time. Hmmm, don’t think that will work when Stat and Melo come back. Also, not too many teams have 3 quality PGs on their rosters.
If there was a stat sheet of stupid plays Bill Walker would fill it up in five minutes.
Chandler looks slow tonight, bless his Secretariat-sized heart.
The way to slow Lin down is to perform inception on D’Antoni the night before a game and convince him to give Walker extended playing time.
Jeffries has range!
Jesus, how many techs has Chandler picked up this year already?
Landry Fields!!!
The Knicks have to be absolutely thrilled to have stayed this close despite all the bad calls and bad decisions.
And, while I’m still impressed with Lin, he does appear a bit sluggish compared to the last few games. Must be exhausted.
I bet they take away Field’s free-throws and give Minn possession because of that T.
I’d like to see Jorts and Pekovic duke it out.
Jeffries and Fields! …. today’s refs are horrendous
@167 I stand corrected. Sorry for the previous post
Fields’ free throw woes are driving me slowly insane.
How is it that KLove just got his first foul?
So much pale beef!
That’s what I like to see from Shumpert. Driving
where’s darko? i’d rather have darko
Nice drive by Shump
Not a great qtr by Lin, hope he brings back the magic in the 4th while Bibsanity takes over
I miss the Rasho Nestorivic Wolves.
i must admit chandler has been ticking me of too not just walker smh
He looks spent. I’ll give him a pass.
Landry has 17 points on 8 shots.
Its going to take a really strong 4th quarter defensively to pull this one out.
Not a good play by Lin. But Shump is keeping us close.
Dr. Shumpkle and Mr. Shyde with that jumper. /too much?
This looks like one of those hideous, can’t-get-over-the-hump games.
We are not going away!
Is Pekovic’s tonight’s “scrub who has a career game against us”?
It’d be really cool if Shump learned how to shoot.
Kobe would’ve gotten the foul there…
Still winnable. But Lin is off tonight. Looks gassed.
That wasn’t a foul on the 3 pointer by Rubio?
ok the wolves r just lucky today: they get every great call for them, the balls bouncing there way, and then the knicks are missing all their free throws.
If he could even just finish at the rim more consistently.
Knicks are tired, too much energy spent in last night’s game.
That was a sweet pass by Fields. The announcers are asleep on Pekovic, he’s been putting up,maybe not 20-10, since he started 4-5 James ago, nut not far from it.
He’s picking up a ton of garbage buckets, and Chandler frankly looks a little spent. He of all people is entitled to an off game.
Fucking Milwaukee is leading Orlando. Goddamn, those guys will not give up! Skiles should get consideration for Coach of the Year.
Due to injuries, zombification, being Toney Douglas and coach’s rotation policy, we’ve been effectively playing all week with just 8 guys. That’s going to catch up with you.
#FreeBalkman
Chandler novak Shumpert Fields Lin to start out the 4th. What u think guys
Shit like that is killing us. The Bib is back.
Great rebound Shump!
I love that your South Carolina bias means that I don’t have to be the “play Balkman” guy anymore. ;)
see what i mean lucky plays smh
Why does Novak all the sudden think he’s MJ?
Shump keeping us close
I went to the ‘Cats Knicks game in Charlotte and went insane when he finally got into the game in garbage time. People thought I was crazy.
I know he’s deceased, but jeez Bibby.
Balkman could miss every shot Bibby and Walker do, while also getting some rebounds and maybe a couple tip ins.
Why is the corpse out there?
Also, generally speaking, why Bibby?
I think I’d rather have ____ instead of the Crypt Keeper
i think the knicks announcer got it right he called bibby “cant get right”
They’re flat. Lin is exhausted an his legs are gone, but the Knicks are hanging around.
Walker is probably the worst nonzombie Knick
Lin just going to play the whole 2nd half? jeezus, he needs some rest. then watching bibsanity, maybe we can’t afford it if we want to win.
How is that not a foul on Rubio????!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!
BALKMAN BALKMAN BALKMAN
this is really the worst referee’d game what the fuck
Guys, please, just be less stupid out there.
I feel like this is just one of those days where we get approximately none of the calls. Don’t think we’re going to be able to overcome it given how tired we look.
Everyone’s tired
Both teams sloppy now. Let’s just be less sloppy.
I don’t get why the refs have such blatant disrespect for the Knicks.
This Minnesota crowd is a little uppity for my taste.
Twolves is Lin’s kryptonite
The problem is also that Love is the best player on the court.
Falling apart now.
Clyde is right. No legs.
Seriously, Tim Donahey thinks these refs have money on this game.
They need to pipe down with those “overrated” chants.
Omigod, refs!!!
This is one ugly, ugly quarter of basketball.
Wow the Knicks can’t breathe near a T-Wolve without getting called for a foul.
If this was the Heat, I’d understand all the star calls, but this is the Wolves!
if the refs would not call all of these bullshit calls this would be a fun game to watch. so far this has been nothing but stressful. were playing 6 against 8. 5 players and three refs. this game has definitely been bought by Vegas
Not sure how D’Antoni hasn’t exploded on a ref tonight.
Amazing that its still only a five point game.
Woooohoo TC
Agreed. D’Antoni needs to get tossed tonight. Make a statement, fire up your guys, etc. And if he can throw a chair, all the better.
GIVEMEAFUCKINGBREAKTHATWASAFOULONTHEOTHERENDANDCHANDLERDIDNOTFOULTHATBUMMICHAELBEASLEYI’MABOUTTOEXPLODEONSOMEONE
Omigod, refs!!
Finally the Crypt Keeper sits
Is Lin limping?
hard to believe there was no touch fall buy bare like chandler got on the following play
Novak is a sneaky good rebounder.
Lin’s turbo meter is depleted
Can we please get Novak open?
Lin is gassed. He needs to go into pure distributor mode for the rest of the game. I want to see Shump drives and Novak 3s. And, apparently, whatever Jeffries wants to do, because he’s apparently an offensive threat now.
Holy shit Novak
yeah lins exhuasted let shump run the point out in jeffries for lin
Sign me up.
That was an over-the-back. This is so heinous.
finally a good call
Hanging around. Lin’s legs are so dead
I swear I said to my wife on the possession before that three that I thought that with the offense being so bad that Novak should just take deep threes from now on.
If a gassed Jeremy Lin means 19, 6 and 6, I think he and the Knicks will be OK.
Back to the over-switching today.
Novak is pretty good when he’s not trying to create his own shot!
How soon we forget. Shump really can’t run the point. I endorse keeping Lin in, he just needs to be smart and realize he’s running on fumes.
Is there anyone on Knickerblogger that DOESN’T think Brian Cronin would be a step up from Herb Williams?
We are giving this away.
Wow Fields…
Soooo many dumb plays.
Shump Shump
Fields is having a sneaky good game. Like everyone else I think Lin is gassed. Shumpert! Lead!
HOW CAN THEY CALL THAT FOUL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Defense really tightened up this quarter, huh? Wolves also haven’t gotten the same lucky rolls and bail-out calls. Though, as I write that, there’s a horrendous loose ball foul call on Shumpert.
Shump fouled out?
At this point, there are only three people in the Knicks organization that I wouldn’t trade for Cronin: Lin, Chandler and Jeffries.
Just sayin……………………………… A little Melo would be nice right now.
Oh Fields. Terrible shot (for him).
Ball needs to get in Novak’s hands.
D’Antoni looks like his head is gonna explode from all the bad calls
That can’t be your play there. Fields has to drive not take a jumper.
That bogus loose ball foul gave Minn the game. Forget the turnovers, the bad offense… those two K Love free throws did it and they were gifted to him by a horrible call.
NOVAK
Steve Novak. You’re new overlord, everyone.
NOVAK!!!!!!
*your. how embarrassing.
Lin is STILL leading my Knicks in scoring. Lin-sanity is legit folks. Time to jump on the bandwagon!
http://theklowntimes.net/2012/02/11/lin-sanity-is-here-to-stay/
Novak is like an elongated Steve Kerr.
For all of our complaining, we got bailed out there in the biggest of moments. Easily could have been a moving screen on Chandler, and easily could have been a no-call on Lin’s drive.
Come on JLIN
These TWolves fans really are pissing me off. They’ve gotten every call and bitch about a pretty obvious hackjob in the lane on Lin.
I have a bad feeling about this.
Something tells me Minnesota will be on the free-throw line on the other end. Maybe it’s the short history of HORRIBLE calls against the Knicks in this game.
Need a stop. Need a stop.
Gotta make your free throws, Lin.
I should never have doubted Novak. He’s a stud.
I’d come out and run an exotic defense to freak Minnesota out. That’s just me, though.
I was getting ready to cursrcthe screen for a no call. Instead the poor gassed Lin misses one of two. Still a lead is a lead.
WAAAAAAAAAA
Please make these Walker, you stiff.
LET’S GO!
Rubio: FAIL
Bill Walker… wtf.
Isn’t the strategy there to have Walker miss it so time runs off as they battle for the rebound?
I still have a bad feeling about this.
Something stupid can still happen.
Make your fucking free throws!
This is perfectly set up for the soul-crushing game-winning three after the missed free throws.
Bill Walker’s gonna foul the jump shooter. I can feel it. Please tell me I’m wrong. For the love of god.
Woodson takes control of defensive possession. WTF.
D’Antoni, or his staff, is bad in these situations.
Killer steal of a game.
WE STOLE THIS ONE!
LAST SECOND LIN!!!!
Knicks grind out a win tonight, WOHOOO! Welcome back Amare and we can bench Walker now hopefully..
Exhale. Defeat and Clyde summed it up perfectly. “The Knicks have stolen one.” “Inexplicable. “
Ye of little faith.
Exhale. Woohoo. Spirit Dedes and Clyde summed it up perfectly. “The Knicks have stolen one.” “Inexplicable. “
AMAZING.
huge huge huge win. amazing that this collection of players have saved our season, they’re like a mid-conference NCAA team playing against Kentucky or UNC in every game.
Gaaah. My heart rate needs to come down…
Character building victory tonight.
If Knicks dont screw around next week by late Friday night they should be over .500 and on an 8 game winning streak. Amazing.
Wow. We had NO business winning that game. Love killed us as always, that center was a freaking brute and Lin had no legs at all, but we hung around, hung around, and then Shump Shump and Novak somehow brought us back.
Some nights, ya gotta win ugly. I’ll take it.
and my man Shump Shump was awesome, credited with 4 steals but certainly had more (if you deflect the ball off Barea as he’s driving and he regains it out of bounds, that should be a steal), and some huge shots when they had no one to step up on offense.
wow.
This was almost as impressive as the win last night. Well maybe not, but huge nonetheless.
I was ready for the post-mortem: “Good effort, they looked tired, Lin had an off night, not a bad loss, we’re on the right track” but WE WON THE GAME. Just unbelievable.
For those wondering, Knicks next 3 games are @ Tor on Tue, home vs Sac on Wed and home vs the Hornets on Fri.
If the playoffs started before tonight’s Milwaukee/Orlando game ended, the Knicks would be in.
i only got say one thing lin has done what Amare and Melo havnt been able to do all year………………. help the Knicks win 5 in a row baby!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! go new york go new york goooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Can you even recall the last time that the Knicks won a game that they had no right to win? So awesome.
PARTY STILL CONTINUES
If you’re a Giants fan too (and I am), this has been one HELL of a week.
Wow.
Happy for the win and wished we played more than 8 players. Everyone look so tired. Can’t wait for Amare’s return.
If the playoffs started tonight, we’d be in. Now, time to start fighting for that six spot, so we can get Phi/Atl in the first round, rather than Mia/Chi… This week should help.
Wolves scored 11 points in 4th quarter on 3 for 17 shooting.
Brian, Im sure you will be watching the Magic-Bucks game for rest of the night. Magic win means Knicks back in 8th seed :-)
Shump was great
and the refs only gave us one good call all game
I can see the Sac game being a loss.
When do Amare and Melo return?
Novak with a smooth interview.
Amare is back next game.
You know it! I love that Cleveland lost.
*sorry for the double posts apparently the phone was excited. Now to get the man’s name correct Spiro Dedes (the spelling may still be off).
What a win! This was a game the old Knicks would always find a way to lose. Seeing Novak interviews he said that was a play usually run for Melo but he thought he would try it. It wasn’t too long ago we were groaning about Novak taking a final sho.
Lin = Ball Movement
‘Melo = Bowel Movement
Come from behind win, WOHOOO! Finally happening for our Knicks.. glad Amare will be back soon.
I think Lin played the whole damn half, jeezus. Rubio outplayed him bad on the defensive end, makes me worry if he can bring it if they make the playoffs and the physicality increases. HOW DID THEY WIN? Great play out of the timeout for Novak 3. HAHA YESSSS SOUL CRUSH THOSE TWOLVES, SORRY KLOVE GO STEP ON MORE FACES DOUCHEBAG
Probaby the 2 games against Miami last year, especially the one at MSG in which we trailed by about 9 going into 4th quarter, were last games I can recall NYK winning in which it had no business….but they weren’t clearly outright highway robbery affairs like this theft tonight!!!
go ny go ny go!!!
Lin’s inspirational impact on this team is probably his most amazing gift!
Varejao is out for awhile with a fractured wrist I believe. They are done. Its 9 teams for 8 spots.
I don’t get it, Dan, why rip on Melo now?
More amazingly, I can’t remember last time knicks had executed brilliantly offensively out of a timeout in a crucial endgame situation like tonight on the Novak 3!!!
Awesome game.
Question: Why are we still switching every pick and roll? With a point guard like Rubio on the floor, you’re just basically giving him the option to take Chandler to the hole on every possession or dish to that beast Pecovic with a guard on him down low.
There a decent defenders on this team now (particularly Shump Shump). Why not just hedge, have the pg fight over the screen, and recover?
That’s too bad, I wanted to see how far we could push this thing with Jeffries and Walker starting on the wings.
This Knicks season is starting to resemble the Giants season.
Bumbling start, mid-season turn-around, going from jinxed looking to lucky all of a sudden, break out star victor cruz = jeremy lin… eh?
Well, whatever. This sh*t is so fun to watch. I’m in heaven.
And back-to-back amazing defensive stands out of timeouts, as well!!
Knicks couldve used some ISO Melo in the 4th quarter tonight.
Actually Lin’s stat line tonight looks very similar to many of Melo’s stats lines this season lol
Pretty funny to watch MDA stand there while Woodson was in control.
Because I couldn’t keep that pun to myself. In reality, I’m foolishly hopeful that Amar’e will fit right in when he gets back and later when ‘Melo returns, he will make some tweaks to enhance and not disrupt the offensive flow the Knicks have been showing.
catching Boston would be awesome, they have a stretch of 14 of 19 on the road starting Thursday in Chicago.
Look, all this kind of anti-Amare and anti-Melo commentary (not too much, but enough to address) really is silly.
If Amare and Melo is out there, the spacing gets amazing. You may have been noticing Minni collapsing on Lin with sometimes three guys tonight. That happened because For a time our guys couldn’t hit the ocean. Also, Lin went from not playing to being the guy and doing 40 minutes a night. He’s exhausted.
Amare and Melo are going to face so much single coverage and wide open dishes, they are going to get 30 each on like 12 shots.
The idea that Jeffries and Walker is a better combo than Amare Melo is literally nuts.
Amare and Melo are literally salivating knowing they have a Pg who can pass and score.
I had a feeling if they hung around they’d find a way to steal it.
To be fair, Rubio dribbled one off his foot and the other really wasn’t a bad look from Love, though he wasn’t close.
Two games in a row, the refs take away a possession or points from us. That technical foul call that resulted in one shot free throw,(and no possession) was a horrible call.
I dont know how people can question or be apprehensive about Melo returning when Bill Walker is playing as much as he is and as horrible as he is taking mainly Melo’s minutes.
I cant freaking wait to see this team with Amar’e and Melo back and hopefully in Melo’s case 100% healthy.
+ 1
I think there are big lessons to be learned.
Actually, to be fair, pressure made rubio dribble off is foot as he saw a 6’10 guy flying to cut off his angle and the on ball defender was in his face.
And Love did not have a good look. He was defended and his shot because of time and pressure was more like a prayer.
Rubio dribbled it off his foot mainly because of the excellent job by Jeffries.
I agree. The only thing I’d say is that Jeffries is a FAR superior defender to Amar’e. The Knicks defense has seriously improved in Stoudemire’s absence.
one is that there’s no way this would last over time, reinforcements are very very welcome and thankfully coming soon.
“The road goes on forever and the party never ends.” Rock on.
Looks like Knicks will remain in 9th place after tonight. Magic completely melting down in the 4th quarter.
I’m sure all that Amare and Melo are thinking is that they can’t wait to get back on the court and dominate the offense, winning streak be damned. You know they’re all about personal stats and couldn’t care less about wins and losses. They wish Lin had never shown up, it means less shots for them.
JJ with 8 on 3 of 5 shooting. Not bad. Lin helps everyone contribute…and the camaraderie they’ve built brings everyone’s confidence and effort up. I love it!
I spoke too soon, Magic now trying to pull off a Knicks miracle comeback of their own lol
You guys are generous. I find it hard to call that Rubio turnover a forced one. I’m not saying they didn’t play well though – given their tired legs and the awful calls against them, its a minor miracle they hung close enough to steal one.
Yeah. Jeffries won’t lose minutes, tho, when those guys return. I believe Mike D. Will run him at the 5, 4, and 3.
Sorry about my verbs. Talking to my son and typing isn’t the smartest writing technique. Lol
One other good thing: this stretch has so helped our bench and its confidence. Bobby and walker are only going to get few minutes, but Novak has moved up the depth chart. Shump is really taking to the two, and Jeffries has become more competent on offense. We found valuable pieces with these guys gone. Otherwise with hardly any practices, our subs suffered
Jason Richardson is on fire!! WOW
You’re right about Amare. I’m sure he can’t wait to run with these guys. He’ll fit right in.
Then, Melo gets back . . . and the party’s over. Sorry, but I don’t think he can change his game.
So right. Lin carried the team offensively, with Chandler, but they can’t keep that up. You can’t have a small forward going 0 for the night, and your back up point one for four games. And then there is Jeffries.
No, a few big guns coming back is nice.
Alright, magic up 6 with a minute left… Playoffs baby!
And the bucks hit another 3… Jeez
He already had. Far fewer shots, more assists. Him playing his normal role will just be sweet. Trust came, man. Melo is going to be a 50%’shooter with Lin creating and the space he’ll have. You’ll be a convert.
Kevin Love me some Rubio and Lin

That’s not the biggest lesson I got.
Team chemistry, trust, ball movement, selflessness, enthusiasm are more important than talent, but combine the two and you have a great team.
Selfish, iso, hero-ball is a perfect formula for ugly.
Now that the Knicks are in the 8th seed despite still being under .500 (for now) does D’Antoni get a contract extension like Isiah got?? lol
I’ve been saying this all along, but Mike D. Hasn’t been the problem. He’s been amazingly patient and adaptive. He believed in Jeffries and this team would not be winning like this without him. The work he did against the lakers frnt line was eye-opening. And he and Chandler kept so many alls alive for the Knicks tonight, I would say they won the game in the end.
Lin is showing how beautiful Mike D.’s system is.
I hope you’re right. But, two games is not what I call a changed man.
I know you do. How amazing would that be?
That would be amazing enough to compete with CHI and MIA
And both guys will have fresh legs!
@326 First time logging in but…that makes me happy!
Frank Isola @FisolaNYDN
Jeremy Lin walking with a slight limp. Received treatment for his knees and ankles. “He’s old man,” Jared Jeffries said
Are we beating this kid up too hard already? He’s playing a lot of mins which I think would come down some after Amar’e and Melo come back, but are we risking doing to this guy what we did to Amar’e?
I now the switching can be annoying and counterintuitive, but this D has been very solid. Woodson deserve a lot of credit as a complement to Mike D.
@389, that is where Melo’s ISO game comes in. Right now when Lin goes to the bench the Knicks well suck. When Melo is back, Lin can rest and Melo can play hero ball all he wants and when Lin comes back in then Melo gets his easy jump shots from JLin passes.
Yeah, spree, I was going to say you should gear back on Lin a bit, but I figured you knew what you were doing…lol
The Knicks are good when all the players feel like they are in the game. When Melo and Amare go ISO, people stand around, they’re less engaged and they have trouble turning their energy up.
The ball needs to move no matter if Lin is in or not.
Um, I served with Herb Williams. I knew Herb Williams. With respect, Brian Cronin is no Herb Williams.
When did you ever hear calls for “BRIAN” late in a hopeless game at the Garden?
Never.

Grades are up y’all!
yes, but there was no choice and he did manage to draw the foul at the end. all of those early season losses made every win now that much more important, and the #6 seed should be the goal, presumably missing MIA/CHI in the first round then.
he has two days off now and a hopefully inspired Amare back, maybe even time for a practice on Monday. they do need to keep his minutes down, Baron still can’t get here soon enough.
Thank you
Hoolahoop, I simply don’t believe that you want Melo to change his game.
It’s clear from your tone and attitude that you’d rather be right (I don’t think you are) than for the team to adjust and to win.
Number one, you’re 100% wrong. Number two, you make stupid comment after stupid comment showing how little you know about basketball, and I’ve never criticized you once.
And here you are, another idiot telling someone what they really believe. Go dive in the Seattle ocean
I understand you’re a Melo defender, but keep your criticisms to your own selfish self.
1) I rarely comment at all.
2) You spent much of last year criticizing me after I pointed out that you are often contentious and looking to cause strife.
3) There is no ocean in Seattle.
4) I’m not certain what’s selfish about what I did, which is simply state what I believe…that you’re more interested in snarky comments than results.
