ok D_A, I wasn’t really clear with my initial point about that trade.I don’t mean that the trade was a bust.Chandler is definitely going to work out.I just don’t think they really foresaw how much the team was going to be hurt by the lack of a true pg.I think they expected to drop off some, just not to this point.Once they can fill that spot I would think that most things overall should start to rise.So even though later on that trade should work out, for the immediate future that trade definitely set them back.Kind of like the Melo trade, I think that set us back some initially.But as they fill in those holes that were left by those players eventually you will have a better team.

Again, I think those are perfectly fair points, observations, and expectations. I want to agree with you that things will work out, but, as fate would have it, I am a Knicks/Mets fan and the eternal optimist in me died somewhere around Generation K or the Finger Roll.

Either he is a shell of his former self at age 25 or his performance at hiding an injury is Razzie-worthy. I think most of western civilization is ready to end the ill-conceived TD PG experiment.

Spree8nyk8: I was actually talking about the chandler trade backfiring, not the melo trade.Nobody remembers the post trade melo team last year that finished the season winning 7 in a row going into the playoffs hot before injuries killed them in the playoffs.They let go of billups thinking they could plug their biggest hole at center and that they would get enough pg play to not hurt the team overall.That has “clearly” not worked out the way they hoped.

I think that is a fair point, but to me Chandler has been the biggest bright spot on this team. It is hard for me to be critical of the trade that brought the only player who, to my mind, is meeting expectations.

tc = 14 points (5-7 fg) 11 boards, 1 blk in 32 minutes

sd = 7 points (3-6 fg) 14 boards , 4 blks in 22 minutes

or

jordan hill = 14 points (6-7) 11 boards in 22 minutes

It is somewhat disingenuous to neglect that when you try to defend him.

wow spree you crack me up we filled a need and we were gambling we came up like we thought we would. t chandler will not be a disappointment. i would even go as far as saying he has exceeded his expectations without a point guard to give him the ball (amare). the disappointment has been melo and amare coexisting and MDA horrible offensive coaching. point blank period dot dot!!!!!!!!!!!!

Dude i’m not saying Chandler is not playing well, I think he’s playing pretty well honestly. But the team overall has been hugely hurt by not having a pg. I mean we just never seem to get into a reasonable flow.
