    Fields looking alive right now.

    Z says:

Bill Walker is playing like an injured Carmelo Anthony, but without the passing.

  3. 3
    Owen says:

He does look really good, even hit a three. Melo and Fields are just not a good mix. He paired with Gallo much better….

  4. 4
    Melo to the Gallos says:

Everyone is a lot better without Melo. Lord.

  5. 5
    Owen says:

    That was nasty….

    Only one Lebron….

  6. 6
    Nick C. says:

    ^ Ruru is that you?

  7. 7
    Melo to the Gallos says:

Owen: That was nasty….Only one Lebron….

Wade and Lebron seem to have fresh legs. That was a dunk contest, though I thought the defense was much better there for most of the quarter.

  8. 8

Missed most of the first. Not losing! Woo!

  9. 9
    BigBlueAL says:

Amar’e really looked good offensively that quarter w/o Melo.

  10. 10
    Nick C. says:

Miami has the sicker plays but tied after one thanks to 3s and FTs. Cautiously, delusionally hopeful.

  11. 11
    BigBlueAL says:

Knicks shot 6 for 22 that quarter.

  12. 12
    MSA says:

    BigBlueAL:
Amar’e really looked good offensively that quarter w/o Melo.

    Good?

    0-4 and 1 turnover?

  13. 13
    Nick C. says:

    The corpse for 3!?!

  14. 14
    d-mar says:

Every 3 pointer we make is a direct condemnation of Carmelo Anthony.

  15. 15
    BigBlueAL says:

    MSA: Good?

    0-4 and 1 turnover?

    I was being sarcastic.

  16. 16
    BigBlueAL says:

Bibby needs more playing time. Cant believe Im saying this lol

  17. 17
    Nick C. says:

    Novak!!!

  18. 18
    BigBlueAL says:

Bibby and Novak need more playing time :-)

  19. 19
    d-mar says:

Here’s a theory – Melo’s teammates hate him so much that they purposely miss open shots when he’s on the floor.

  20. 20
    Melo to the Gallos says:

d-mar: Every 3 pointer we make is a direct condemnation of Carmelo Anthony.

No doubt. There is so much better continuity out there. Guys are more confident in taking their shots because they know the ball is coming back to them. This team is a lot better right now than I’ve seen all year.

  21. 21
    Melo to the Gallos says:

d-mar: Here’s a theory – Melo’s teammates hate him so much that they purposely miss open shots when he’s on the floor.

Subconsciously I have no doubt this is true. The guy is a vampire that drains teammates of juju.

  22. 22
    BigBlueAL says:

    Never mind.

  23. 23
    JK47 says:

    Needs less Novak.

  24. 24
    Owen says:

    Bosh > Novak

  25. 25
    JK47 says:

Now’s the part where everybody forgets how to shoot.

  26. 26
    art vandelay says:

I can’t even fault them for shooting all these 3′s…this honestly is there only chance to win the game….just nailing about 50% from 3….won’t hold up, though, unfortunately, all night.

  27. 27
    llcoolbp says:

i’m going to the knicks-nets game at the garden next saturday. I hope the knicks can win one game between now and then.

  28. 28
    MSA says:

    Shooting 28%

How the hell we are still in the game?

  29. 29
    art vandelay says:

Is it possible that melo was playing all those games hurt because he feared the result if he didn’t play…what an indictment against him if they actually played well….(sidenote: I don’t actually think he considered this, but it is funny to speculate about)

  30. 30
    Owen says:

    Billy Walker!!!

We are having a good night from behind the line, that’s the difference….

  31. 31
    Nick C. says:

Was that Walker that stood Lebron up and forced a TO? anyhow hes hitting his shots so far.

  32. 32
    Melo to the Gallos says:

art vandelay: Is it possible that melo was playing all those games hurt because he feared the result if he didn’t play…what an indictment against him if they actually played well….(sidenote: I don’t actually think he considered this, but it is funny to speculate about)

is it any coincidence that Melo picked this game to sit, the one where there would be the lowest chance of the team making him look bad by playing well (or perceived to play well)?

I don’t think so and I’m not sure what you find funny about it.

  33. 33
    BigBlueAL says:

Its sad watching Amar’e right now. Real sad.

  34. 34
    Owen says:

    That was pretty sick….

  35. 35
    MSA says:

Stat is the new Rashard Lewis

  36. 36
    Owen says:

Man, Amare really not looking good….

  37. 37
    BigBlueAL says:

At least Kevin Martin is out tonight for the Rockets. Hopefully he misses tomorrow as well giving the Knicks a real legitimate chance at winning in Houston tomorrow night.

  38. 38
    mura2337 says:

I’ve got a real positive feeling about this game. Yessir. Long as I get 8 3′s outta walker and the foundation for a methadone clinic outta tddwtddutd…

  39. 39
    Tyler Murray says:

At the very least, I’ll say this game is entertaining — the most disappointing part about this season, for me at least, has been the stagnant/boring offense. Plenty of ball movement tonight, more than bearable to watch.

  40. 40
    Nick C. says:

Nice pass from Douglas to a cutting Fields. Long time since I’ve see that.

  41. 41
    Owen says:

Toney looks like a different player tonight….

  42. 42

    Tyler Murray:

Yeah, real entertaining to watch the Knicks shoot 35.7% from the field and basically just jack-up 3pters like its NBA Jam.

  43. 43
    d-mar says:

If we can hit every single 3 pointer we take in the 2nd half, I truly believe we can lose by only 5 or 6 points.

  44. 44
    BigBlueAL says:

Fucking Wade had to return tonight. Knicks most likely would be up at the half if he wouldnt have played.

  45. 45

Naturally, Walker will sit most of the second half.

  46. 46
    Tyler Murray says:

@42 haha ok, maybe it’s just the Heat’s dunkfest that’s keeping me engaged.

  47. 47

Baron Davis on the horizon, Knicks still in the game despite Amare’s stinker, and Carmelo finally realizes the team can’t win with injured hero ball!

The Knicks Big 3 – Douglas, Walker and Bibby

  58. 58
    mura2337 says:

Lets try a different, less JD fueled approach. Would the knicks, or the entire league, be better served if the owners had to sign a deal stating they would sell the team after a decade if there was no discernable improvement? Like, for example, if I’m praying for baron davis to save us from..being eliminated in the 1st round, and we ain’t been legit since 98-99, shouldn’t Dolan sell the team to someone who can tie their own shoes?

  59. 59
    Nick C. says:

Knicks sure are fiesty on these last few possessions defensively.

  60. 60
    Sugarjesus says:

How about let’s all be positive? They’re in the lead and playing intense in the 3rd!

  61. 61
    mura2337 says:

so my jerk just said hey, the nuggets are up 21 with 5 lefty in the 2nd. He hates the knicks and I hate him.

Fields seriously couldnt finish or draw a foul on Chalmers on that fastbreak??

  63. 63
    BigBlueAL says:

Great timing for the Knicks defense to start breaking down.

  64. 64
    Nick C. says:

    Offensive foul on Lebron. Finally!

  65. 65
    ess-dog says:

How does Lebron come away injured after a collision with Bibby?

  66. 66

Great play by Bibby, didn’t expect that from the vet….

  67. 67
    Sugarjesus says:

    BigBlueAL:

Seriously sometimes you wish Landry graduated Stanford and just went to work of Google or something.

  68. 68
    Richmond County says:

Charging into Mike Bibby’s corpse is the basketball equivalent of rear-ending a parked car.

  69. 69

    BigBlueAL:

    Yeah. That was bad

  70. 70
    Sugarjesus says:

    ess-dog:
How does Lebron come away injured after a collision with Bibby?

Cause Lebron is light. Someone put another quarter in the bibby video game and bought another life for him

  71. 71
    BigBlueAL says:

That Fields’ blown fastbreak was kinda the turning point. Instead of going up 5 Knicks dont score on that possession and Battier hits back-to-back 3pters on consecutive possessions.

  72. 72
    MSA says:

Are we gonna see some Fat Eddy tonite?

  73. 73
    Doug says:

    Billy-Tyson PNR! Imagine that.

  74. 74
    Nick C. says:

Novak intimidates Lebron into taking a fallaway three and then comes down the court and shows him how its done.

  75. 75
    BigBlueAL says:

Amazing the Knicks can actually win this game. Would be a great time for Amar’e to remember he is Amar’e for rest of the game.

  76. 76
    Owen says:

that was a freaking great block, go billy…

  77. 77
    Sugarjesus says:

Lol. Walker getting double covered. He’s like wait what?

He’s gonna get his chance now.

    The dream is slowly fading.

  80. 80
    ess-dog says:

The slippery potential of Bill Walker. When will we see it again? March? November?

  81. 81
    d-mar says:

Hopefully, we can take a few positives from this loss – Douglas actually looking like an NBA player (although he had his usual awful TO’s) and Walker maybe becoming a true spark off the bench. But thank goodness Melo didn’t play, would have been a 30 point blowout.

  82. 82
    Owen says:

    Not good Amare….

  83. 83
    Nick C. says:

Stat trying to do a little too much the last two possessions.

    Frank O. says:

I’m pretty pleased with this team. I know it’s weird to say that just now, but the Knicks are a greatly depleted team and they are playing hard.

  88. 88
    Frank O. says:

Why is TD shooting so much?

  89. 89
    Frank O. says:

They got away from passing. They are trying to do too much

  90. 90
    BigBlueAL says:

Knicks offense this 4th quarter looking so much better w/o having Melo ISO all the time :-)

Offense tonight if not for the flukey 3pt shooting would have had a hard time topping 70 points. Hopefully on Tues both Melo and BD return.

  91. 91
    BigBlueAL says:

Forgot about tomorrow night, if Kevin Martin is out maybe Knicks have a chance. Houston is pretty bad defensively.

  92. 92
    tastycakes says:

This team is awful. They were only in this game by virtue of fluke shooting. I’ve now watched 8 Knick losses in a row.

I really keep thinking that I should just abandon ship and follow a team I enjoy watching, like the Nugs or Clips.

Not only are the Knicks garbage, they’re hideous to watch. Terrible shooting, poor ball movement, just all around appalling offensive execution.

Some day — possibly not in the next 5 years, but some day — they’ll get some legitimately good players and this suffering will seem worthwhile. No other reason to keep watching these bums.

  93. 93
    Nick C. says:

Fields coming back to life, but too little too late. It was fun while it lasted.

  94. 94

If the 3 pt shooting is fluky so too would it be fluky for the Knicks to get 70.

  95. 95

The game clearly turned when D’Antoni stuck with the abysmal Bibby/Shumpert/Novak/Jeffries/Chandler lineup as the game was getting out of hand. I know there’s a game tomorrow night, but when your team is already depleted, you can’t go away from your good lineup that long.

I remember thinking when that lineup had the team only down a point, “Wow, the Knicks got over two minutes into the fourth without this lineup blowing the game yet, he better pull them now.” And instead he pulled them when the Knicks were down 9.

  96. 96
    Frank O. says:

    Eddy didn’t play?

  97. 97

I can’t believe I am even concerned with these two teams, but at least Cleveland and Milwaukee both lost.

    ess-dog says:

Shump looks to be pretty useless on offense. None of these guys deserve to start except Chandler and maybe Fields now.

Deron is really turning it around. Let’s get this Melo for Deron trade done before Deron has totally turned it around!

EB: I’d trade half the team for tinsley at this point

Tinsley bately plays. Is it possible he could be available or is he hurt again?

  104. 104
    Nick C. says:

On the threes it seems like if they miss them they suck and if they make them it’s luck. What gives?

  105. 105

Yeah, agreed. The offense looked fine when they were running the viable starters out there. You plug Melo into the lineup the way it was playing tonight, they should do well.

Some of the threes were bad shots, but the vast majority of them came from good ball movement.

  106. 106
    Richmond County says:

How did Balkman not get into this game?

  107. 107
    daJudge says:

I think BD’s back is acting up. I know mine is. We have no PF (who is Amare?), no point guard, no true shooting guard, and our 3 is a chucker who took himself out of the game (ironically Bernard, whose fingers are still probably broken, was announcing). Our coach is Ayn Rand. Rant over, goodnight.

  108. 108

How did Balkman not get into this game?

It is beyond ridiculous. If they were already going to give up on scoring when they had the Bibby/Shump/Novak/Jeffries/Chandler lineup, they might as well have Balkman in there to play D.

  109. 109
    EB says:

We need amare and Chandler to take more threes that will make our team better. The problem is all those two point shots which are just so darned hard to make. I mean look at the numbers clearly we should only ever take three pointers. no more twos for the rest of the season and we’ll be golden

yeah….. imagine how bad off we would have been tonight offensively without chandler’s 2 field goals :-)

but, as was said before the season started, you can’t run an offense without reasonable point guard play.

  111. 111
    bobneptune says:

    Richmond County:
How did Balkman not get into this game?

because if he didn’t have a guaranteed contract , he wouldn’t be in the nba. it is really quite simple.

  112. 112
    BigBlueAL says:

bobneptune: because if he didn’t have a guaranteed contract , he wouldn’t be in the nba. it is really quite simple.

Balkman would be a beast in the NBDL.

  113. 113
    nicos says:

Surprised that Shumpert never got matched on Wade who abused Fields esp. in the first half. He did do a reasonable job on LBJ when matched on him. Amazing that Amar’e still couldn’t get the ball in the paint even with the Knicks hitting all those threes. The ball did move quicker around the perimeter but moving the ball side to side ain’t good ball movement.
