Man, having Kidd on the weak side rather than Fields is such a gigantic difference- his ability to take advantage of rotating defenses (and against two of the best rotate/recover teams in the league) is amazing.

I really don't want to hear that Miami was disengaged and Philly was missing their best player and the future HOFer Jason Richardson. We are missing our 2nd best scoring option and our best perimeter defender, and we won both games wire to wire. God forbid If we had lost those 2 games, the sports media would be crucifying NY.

All that being said, no excuse for not winning the next 3 games. A 5-0 start would be very sweet.

I'd also like to remind everyone that last years Knicks lost to the Bobcats, the same Bobcats team that lost to Miami on a buzzer beater. Even the worst NBA team of all time needs to be taken seriously.

JK47:
The 76ers had zero interior presence in this game. They were mainly using the 6’9 Lavoy Allen at C and 6’8? Thaddeus Young at PF.Spencer Hawes, their only legit available big man, got into foul trouble and played only 15 minutes. The end result was that the Knicks were 18 for 27 in the paint.

It should be interesting to see if the Knicks can complete the home-and-home sweep, because the Sixers looked pretty feeble out there today.

This same team blew out the Nuggets a few days ago. Besides, contenders blow out mediocre to bad teams. The Knicks have been by far the best team in the league so far, obviously they have to maintain it for a while more they can truly be considered elite.

That being said, the Knicks are literally the only team in the league that can play "small" (Melo or Novak at the 4) without giving up interior defense, excellent picks, or a post offense because of Chandler and Camby/Thomas/Wallace. Melo also becomes an elite defender when he doesn't have to worry about chasing around shooters, by far his biggest defensive weakness. Other than Lebron, Melo is also by far the best passing 4 in the league, and he somehow remains capable of posting up against bigger players that you would think would give him more trouble.

The Knicks are playing team offense and defense the way only the truly elite teams do. I am worried about them maintaining that over a full season, especially if Amar'e comes back and insists to start. If he's just standing around on defense and not boxing out, it kills any chance of being truly elite against teams that know how to exploit that.

LOL true but those 4 are specifically replacing the other 4 so the comparison is warranted IMO.

Difference between these Knicks and the Knicks that finished last season is simple:

Kidd/Felton/Prigs/Brewer >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> BD/Bibby/TD/Fields
