It’s Kinda-Official? Knicks Get ‘Melo

Lots of media outlets reporting that the Knicks have finally traded for Carmelo Anthony. According to the New York Times’ Howard Beck : The Knicks will get Anthony, a 6-foot-8 small forward, along with the veteran point guard Chauncey Billups and three nominal role players – forwards Shelden Williams and Renaldo Balkman and guard Anthony Carter. In exchange, Denver will receive four of the Knicks’ top players – Danilo Gallinari, Raymond Felton, Wilson Chandler and Timofey Mozgov – along with the Knicks’ first-round pick in 2014. Poll: Would You Do This Deal?

So it looks like a few sources are saying there is a deal very close to being consumated. According to Kurt Helin of NBC Sports: Multiple sources now report that the trade of Carmelo Anthony to the New York Knicks happening later tonight or tomorrow. The Denver Post called the trade “imminent” while a source told the New York Times, “We’re about to dot the i’s and cross the t’s.” Newsday and Yahoo reporters also have similar reports. Knicks Shoot Down Isiah Rumors

At 4am this morning Yahoo! Sports Adrian Wojnarowski published an article speculating that Isiah Thomas was pulling the strings on the Carmelo Anthony deal. The thin veil of secrecy has torn away now, the pretenses gone and Isiah Thomas has left the shadows and moved into the light again. Once more, he is the New York Knicks’ top basketball executive.
