Very, very proud of the team. If anyone had suggested the Knicks would be taking the Celtics to the limit in a playoff game with that line-up you’d likely have thought them insane. Melo was insane, and I feel bad for him since he made the right play at the end.

Still, the pride doesn’t dull the pain too much, and I know somehow between now and Friday I’ll end up reading multiple ridiculous columns by Steven A and Ian O’Connor. They’re like car wrecks and I can’t look away.

Anyone crying about Mosgov or Ray tonight? That was an unbelievable performance. The exciting thing is, there will be many, many more from Carmelo Anthony, our superstar. Lets hope we get healthy and get some juice next game!

JR Sec 112: Why isnt the board giving more love to ‘Melo?One of the greatest individual playoff performances in Knicks history. Even Bernard had Bill Cartwritght in ’83-’84.17 boards despite playing PF next to JJ for the entire 2nd half. Phenomenal passing.In Boston, with the worst supporting cast in playoff history.Can we get fired up at least for the next 3 years and seeing what he can do if him and amare start to blend?

That's definitely the bright side of all of this. We got a look at what Melo is fully capable of tonight. Can you imagine the possibilities?

Yeah thats my point I guess.

Although Amar’e played great immediately after the trade, what messed Amar’e up was not the new “system” but his body breaking down on him a bit.

Amare was actually was starting to fade a bit in January – shooting and rebounding numbers down. I’d argue he spent too much energy during the run in December, logged heavy minutes, and therefore started to wear out. The system change played less of a role.

That isn't to say that it wasn't silly to call Fields the best player on the Knicks even when he was at his peak, as it was. Just that it was silly then, not because of the changes since.

Actually, I forgot how bad the East was this year. Never mind, Amar'e still would have made it easily. But still, he played a whole lot worse after the system change!

Agreed but dont be calling him the best player on the team and say he shouldve been an All-Star.

You did see what happened to Amar’e when they changed the system, right? Would Amar’e have made the All-Star team had he played like he did after they changed the system? No way, right? The system change is a major deal.

Cause he’s a rookie and he hit the rookie wall. When you are used to a 45 game season, its tough to play games 83 and 84 and do it with twice the intensity you played the first 82
