Louisville v. Moorehead State 1st round SW bracket. We can watch Faried against a tough Louisville squad. Should be interesting. We will hopefully see Jimmer in the second round against St. John's. That will be another interesting match up given the Johnies defense.

hoolahoop, they were awful, unprepared, lazy, and consistently outworked by an inferior team. that doesn't necessarily mean that it matters at all in the big picture, though.

latke, I agree completely. pre-trade, I said this season would be a success if NY won a single game in the postseason. post-trade, I agree that the bar has been slightly raised to two games (small steps).

Man, did the Knicks suck tonight. I think this game was just a weird one. Billups, Douglas, Melo, and Fields all had bad games. Amar'e had a pretty good game, but was in foul trouble most of the night. A lot went right for the Pacers, which was the only way they would win without Granger. Overall, the Knicks just did not come out to play, which is unacceptable. I doubt this happens again on Tuesday.

This forum frustrates me almost as much as the knicks.
I've been a big knick fan for a long, long time; I love(d) this team. I've also played competitive ball my entire life at various levels.
I don't understand how people on this forum come up with all sorts of crazy reasons to justify bad performances by this team. To me, that's not the smart fan that the Knicks are known to have. The knicks played so poorly tonight that the crowd was booing the team. Would you stand up and start yelling to everyone that the games don't matter until the playoffs, or where were you fans last night when we won? Smart sports fans recognize and discuss their teams flaws, instead of lashing out at people who do that, and don't make excuses for their horrible effort.
I saw the same thing happen here during the Isiah era and left this forum for years. I guess this is the way it is here. No hard feelings. Good luck to you all.

Let me emphasize that I don't think it's panic time. I'll give this team till the end of the playoffs to show some signs of progress. Criteria: win 2+ games in playoffs.

Next season I expect a 1st round playoff victory and for them to put up a fight in the second round.

If either of those things don't happen, my impression will begin to harden and I'll begin calling for trades, but we'll get there if we get there.

As far as chris paul/deron williams go, I imagine their criteria for demanding a trade to NYC would be quite similar to my own criteria for keeping hope. If the knicks are duds in the playoffs these next two seasons, I highly doubt Paul/Williams will be knocking on our doors. There are plenty of other teams out there, and some of them look to have the financials to pay one of these guys outright.

They should’ve really went after Deron, instead nets got the better player. Good job Dolan.

The Nets only get Deron for a year. The Knicks get Carmelo for at least three and a half. So they're not really comparable deals. When you add in the unlikelihood that New Jersey would have dealt Deron for the same package that the Knicks gave up to get Melo, then I really don't see the Deron deal as a knock on the Knicks.

I guess. What those guys see in Melo I don’t quite understand and I wonder if they will still see it after 1.5 years of mediocrity. If I were Williams I would go to Dallas.

We don't really have to understand it, though, to know that other players definitely do see Melo as a guy they want to play with. If he can do that for the Knicks (to get either Paul or D-Will), then he's totally worth the $20 million. And I think he likely will get them one of them.
