If we lose tonight and go 0-4 to cleveland this season not sure I can continue watching this team…please tell me it won[t happen…ordinarily I would only be pleased with a blowout over such a sad-sack squad….but given our history of losing 11 straight to cleveland I will take ANY victory possible over the cavs, sad as that may sound….even a melo buzzer beater.

Not to be an asshole but why do you even post this shit? I don’t mean there isn’t a chance that it couldn’t happen. But if it did you know that you’re not going to quit being a fan. Only Laker fans quit when the teams not good. If your a Knick fan it’s kind of a permanent thing.

I don’t take umbrage with the comment, spree….I guess trying a reverse jinx so we do NOT lose…I have been a knick fan since I was 5 years old, basically….been going to games consistently and watching just about every one since…so OBVIOUSLY I am not going to really stop watching…just a measure of how embarrassing a loss would be…I don[t think nor want it to happen….even though I live in argentina now I don’t miss a game….I couldn’t be more of a permanent fan if one existed….anyone on this board who continues to follow the knicks after the last lost decade and total embarrasment due to isiah when it was a stigma to be a knicks fan is clearly permanent.

Art – Not to pile on here, but a master of the reverse jinx doesn’t reveal what he is doing. That causes a total reversal. If we lose, I am going to blame you.

Nice win for the Knuggets in LA….

Although people will probably point out the Knuggets some time soon, its important to realize that we only notice when they do well. None of the many solid players on that team are consistently awesome, even the former Knicks. You can’t just get jeaous or wistful about the good stuff. There was plenty of bad in all the players we gave up.

Knuggets were awesome. they will go deep I think.
Gallo was a beast, but after scoring 18 in the first half, only four thereafter.
And Felton, while playing a great second half nearly blew the game at the end with a few ill advised shots and a near turnover, that should have been a turnover.
Either way, the Knuggets have it going…

    SeeWhyDee77 says:

Sittin here watchin the game an I realized what my biggest problem with the Knicks is..finally. It’s not the lack of depth, true center, the insidious reliance on the 3 pointer (this ain’t college) or the lack of overall rebounding. It’s mentality. If the players don’t have that certain mentality, then the coaches have got to instill it in them..basically force them to develop that certain mentality. I’m not talkin about killer instinct. Let me explain. A few minutes ago, Stat was on the floor with Extra E, Douglas, Walker and JJ. I think I got the lineup correct. Anyway, Stat’s the only big man on the floor rite? What does he do? Launch a 18 footer with no rebounders on the floor with him. See what i’m sayin? Mentality. In that situation Stat should be licking his chops at the opportunity to kill Cleveland inside as he has the skillset to do so. Not to mention the body and athleticism. Rite then and there, D’Antoni should be directin Stat to post up. If Stat won’t recognize the opportunity, then it has to be force fed. That’s how a dominant swag/attitude begins. I mean seriously! Stat was the biggest and best player on the floor and he doesn’t post up against a smaller, weaker Cavs D? All the while he had 3 shooters to space the floor..i’m just sayin. Same goes with defense. If the players aren’t already invested on the defensive end, then coach em up to habitually get into defense!! I like Mike D..but dude gotta start really coachin and not let the inmates run the asylum. I’m not sayin take away the freedom becuz thas what makes the ssol great. But where’s the accountability? Am I crazy to expect that?

  51. 51
    CRJoe says:

Oh come on, how on earth do we allow Samuardo Samuels an offensive board on a free throw??? Guy averages 2 Off boards a game and he already has 3… And on a freaking free throw!?

  52. 52
    CRJoe says:

So.. Their bench has more points, assists, rebounds (off rebs too), steals and is shooting far more efficiently than ours, our bench has less turnovers…. And yet, plus minus is ridiculously in favor of our bench, thoughts on that??? Their bench has played about 8 more min that ours…

  53. 53
    art vandelay says:

I understand why Amare should take the ball to the rack in that situation facing a smaller cleveland frontcourt…but he certainly is not going to post…he doesn[t post up…not his game…they should run the curl for him in that situation or give him the ball on the free throw line extended elbow and let him go to work like they used to do prior to the melo trade with much success.

Playoffs! I still can’t believe it. I can only imagine where everyone was in their lives the last time this happened — I remember watching the Knicks-Nets series from my college dorm freshman year thinking the team had a bright future despite the sweep. Whoops.

Seriously, I don’t know how I’d have gotten through the last seven seasons without this blog and these commenters — even if it’s a quick first round exit, it’s so amazing to not be trading endless threads on draft positioning at this point in the year for a change.

    art vandelay says:

Amare’s game was ok, not great….but I do give him credit for going for a few blocks when he had 3 fouls mid-way through the 3rd quarter when he was in jeopardy of getting his 4th foul…really he doesn[t deserve credit for this, but it is progress for him to not just let guys score the ball for fear of getting into foul trouble…

just the fact that he was jumping and contesting shots was an improvement for me over his last few games when he looked deadlegged.

  81. 81

I think we were all a little harsh on the guy during that bad stretch; it’s obvious now that the Howard knee set him back a lot, and he’s been a different player the last few games. He will be a big key for the playoffs.
